On The Loveliest Day, Through the Trees
A picnic makes it just perfect.
A garland of crocheted lace hankies hang on branches.
Little friends stop in just to say hello.
Hello…
As a cheese wheel in a bell jar and a decadent chocolate cake are set out.
With little sips of tea from bowls.
The sun is warm, the breeze perfection.
Your favorite tune dances about.
That is where we have been.
A memory of the heart.
Made up of dreams.

Lovely, Vanessa! A happy, daydreamy kind of picture that makes me think of laying on a picnic blanket looking up at the clouds and seeing what shapes they make me think of. I’ve recently started doing that with my soon-to-be 4 year old granddaughter when we are in the car and we see lots of fluffy clouds in the sky. She is more than happy to play along.

Cotton Candy clouds are one of the best things in the world. Sheep too. I love sheep. I used to dream that I’d own a sheep farm one day.
Here’s what I think when I see your art…I think that you will go down in history as one of the great American “folk” artists. Your paintings will be worth a gajillion dollars!
If my husband wasn’t still unemployed right now, I’d buy this painting because it makes me so happy to look at it.

Ms. Vanessa, I love your paintings of the picnic teaparty. How very lovely and serene with the cotton candy clouds.
I know that this is not the exact place to leave this information but I am using my husbands computer (very confusing operating system) and will leave my regrets here in the comments.
Olde Baggs n Stuft Shirts will not be participating in Mad Tea Party this year because I have pneumonia and don’t seem to be able to shake it out. I have been threatened with hospitalization unless I “do as I am told” by the doctors, my family and my cohort in crime and last years bad Alice, my heart and soul my 14 year old granddaughter. I hope you know this is a very sad note. We love to play at your Mad Tea Party and will miss not being participants. And if possible, we will view each and every entry and love the party that way this year.

Oh Vanessa, it is glorious! I love how it is a part of the Through the Trees series, but is so different from the other pieces! It is light, and springy, and tastes sweet! I am in love! Dreamiest painting, truly.

Your painting is so lovely and peaceful! It looks like just the perfect place to sit and cool off on a hot day! It is so sweet! I love every little thing about it, but I do so love your cotton-candy clouds! I woke up to clouds like that the other morning, which quickly turned from cotton candy to tangerine with grenadine mixed in!! Too cool! I have just favorited from my collage sheet shop on Etsy and will favorite it from my other shops shortly!
Now, I must rush back and finish the last two collages for my Mad Tea Party post…!!!!
