What a weekend. The show was so lovely. So many wonderful happy people. I heard so many people giggling and chatting. Whispering "look at that," with a giggle following. I was sure it was about the jelly bean heads. Then I heard lots of little gasps and swoons over the paper dress girls, which touched me to the core. So many questions to answer and tales to tell.
I was so glad I took pictures before the show started. Once I got busy, the walls changed quickly. I find that if you do not take pictures before anyone arrives, as a priority, then you will get caught up in the gift-wrapping and chaos, and never get to take pictures.
The night before…
As things sold I had to fill wall space and shuffle things around, so you might notice changes here and there…
This was sooo funny, the door to the back patio was in the way, so Mr. Lovee simply removed it. It was so funny seeing him walk away with it!
A last minute sign to lead people in the front door as opposed to the back door… I have people coming by today to pick up some treasures, originals that I was so glad to be able to keep on the walls during the show…
The good news is, I made so many goodies for the show, that there will be a fun shop update in a few days. The show was different than most, in that I saw many new faces. I had a few people waiting for the opening to take an original home… People purchased different things from other shows, and that was really great. It was like a whole new group of people with different likes… Quite interesting and lovely indeed.
I also had so many visitors who are dear to me. So touching for wonderful friends to come out and support me. That warmed my soul!! Thank you my dear friends!! (I know you are reading this Miss Yodee, you are a love!!!)
One of the funniest things about the show was hearing the following more than a few times… "Your work reminds me of Alice in Wonderland with a bit of that movie, about, you know the nightmare…" Then I would say, "The Nightmare before Christmas?" and they would say "YEs yes, that… do you like that?" I heard it so many times, from such a wide array of people, so funny!
There were also people who came back the second day and took home framed 11"x14" canvas prints. That was so nice, considering the framing part cost a fortune, but more than that, was so frustrating. The frames were totally unprepared for framing. And those teeny tiny screws they give you, worthless. I had to drill and use sturdier hangers. Now, let’s talk about nightmare… HA!!
I am more than tired today. I took all those photos just for you… I hope I covered it all? You let me know…. See you soon…. Must rest & clean the studio &…
ps: Silly me. Okay, in case you didn’t know, please don’t get annoyed if you have heard it all before… My little gallery is on a magical property in the Arizona Hills. Mr. Lovee has lived here many many years, and I became a part of it, 8 years ago. It is very quaint and country and wonderful. Mr. Lovee has graced me with my own little living quarters and my own studio. Along with this little space on the property, which I turned into a gallery 5 years ago. My real home (which I have had for 13 years) is in the city of Tucson, Arizona. But, lately I spend most of my time here, in the country… The show happens twice a year. It is a fine arts tour/show of the Catalina Artists. We are a non-profit organization and sponsor an art program at a Catalina school. People visit each artists studio or gallery during this two day show. So, there you have it…

Miss Vanessa! I tried and tried and tried some more to pluck your beautiful paintings from my computer monitor but alas…I had no luck. Sigh…I wish I could have been there, but at least I have your photos to show me what I missed…you outdid yourself mon amie! Now get some rest, it is well deserved!
Vanessa I’m swooning over here in England, it’s all so fantastically gorgeous and at last we get to see some of your jewels as well as the delightful paper girls. I would have been like a child in a sweet shop not knowing which way to turn or what to choose.
Darling Vanessa, it all looks beautiful! What hard work you put into it all. I’m so pleased the show went well – of course, I knew that would happen! Hope you’re getting some much-deserved rest, after the whirlwind of the past few weeks! xoxox
Vanessa my sweet lovelygurl!!!!!!!!!! I have missed you tons and tons and I didn’t even read your post yet because I was too excited to comment and throw some blog-luv in your box. Do you know I STILL have black roses in a box waiting for you? I should be fired because that’s so lame! I wanted you to have them for Halloween and now it’s too late. Forgive me? I’ve missed you so much!!!! I’ll definately be sitting here tonight catching up on all your tres fabulous eyecandy and amazing stories.
xoxooxoxoxox
you remind me of a.. heh heh!
I remember when I was younger I’d have vivid dreams that I just couldn’t seem to describe it clearly enough to give it justice. Your work does that for me – it brings those vivid dreams back to life – they aren’t exactly the same dreams but you give all things magical & delightful & dreamy a life. How breathtakingly beautiful!
Excuse me while I scroll through again….and again! 😀
Everything looks just divine!
Not wanting to make anyone jealous but I must, I was at Vanessa’s show and although her photos capture her art beautifully, they can not convey her amazing soul and heart of gold.I happily skipped away with baubles for myself and a magical canvas for my daughter, filled with happiness at the opportunity to spend a few minutes with VeeVee and the infamous Mr. Lovee…..I am so happy your show was a huge success!!!
Oh wow! I just love how you have everything displayed… it looks like a lovely, arty candy store!! 🙂 So inspiring, whimsical and beautiful! 🙂
All i can say is WOW!!!!
Darling girl, oh darling girl……these photos are a treasure to behold. A magical tour of epic proportion. Bravo to you for your hard work, your imagination extraordinaire, the sales, the new faces – the place. You have amazing body of work that should fill homes everywhere! I still working on my studio and can’t wait to frame my VV prints to hang on the wall! I know your magical presence through those pieces will enchant my entire space!
I have missed you while you’ve toiled to get ready and while I toil to still complete my project!
Sending lots of love and hugs to you,
Lisa

I’m so glad you had a good show, my darling. But more selfishly, I’m glad that you are done with the show so I can have you all to my self again! MWAHAHAHAHA!
Everything looked superb and delicious!!! I am not the least bit surprised that the paper skirt ladies were so popular!! Hooray for Mr. Lovee making all this possible in one place for you..and how kind of him to just “take the door away”!! Hope you are resting and feeling content and pleased with yourself..you should be!!
everything looked so beautiful!
What a sweet, sweet space to house your art! Everything looks beautiful and so incredibly tactile! I would have been kicked out for trying to touch it all!

OHhh how I would have love to been there to see your show!! The pictures are awesome!! Congratulations on a successful show!!!
Thanks so much for taking all those pictures. I wanted to come and see it all in person and this was the next best thing. Just amazing what you did with that space just Miss V from ceiling to floor and I think that Alice with a little dark twist, but The Nightmare before Christmas isn’t it.. it’s more elegant than that.. more like Rear Window I think or Charade.
Maryam must LOVE your front door! I so wish I lived close enough to be there for real…and I can’t wait to see if there are any paper ladies left who want to come live in Canada with me…I know one will call my name soon enough.
Yayyyyeee! Perfect! Love the sights, sounds and tales of what happened! You are a huge success worldwide 🙂 I WAS there…in spirit 🙂 Whispering in people’s ears…’buy that one!’

I must say ,I clicked and enlarged your jewelry ,and it is sooooooooo special! You must do a post solely about it one day.
Lovee is a gem himself! So happy for the success!
What an incredible beautiful spectacular setting you created for your show! Pure Magic you’re giving out over there in those Arizona Hills. You must feel such a sense of pride and wonder about it all. I must insist on a post on Mr. Lovee. A long one. Some of us enjoy these kinds of stories over and over. like me.
Rochambeau gave me your link as I also live in Arizona. I am in Scottsdale and fear you could not be close; if you were I would more than have known about this fabulous event. Willing to drive for this rare magic. Do connect when you have time. http://www.wildvines.blogspot.com
