Is it true? Or is it a rumor?
Did one, or two, or three, or all of you dare to suggest…
That I eat my babies?
Feast on my precious little orange faced sweeties?
What kind of a punkin'mama do you think I am?
Hahahaaa!
Okay, maybe I'll eat one.
Or two.
But that's all, I promise 😉
Just don't tell anyone……..
Roasted & buttered.
Baked in a pie.
Punkin' cup-caked perhaps?
Wait, what's that I hear?
Oh no, here comes the pumpkin king!
I gotta get outta here, one the double, pronto, vite vite!!
Lest he turns me into a toad. Or a fruit-fly.
🖤,V
Today's 3 Random Things.
1) I finally had a chance to listen to the entire Grey Oceans album by CocoRosie (loved them from day one).
It's perfect.
I bought every tune over at Itunes.
Then I proceeded to watch the Lemonade video on repeat for 16 hours.
It's a perfect mixture of Grey Gardens meets the bearded lady, collided with Great Expectations and swirled in a cake cone with delicious CocoRosie madness. Love it.
My sister and I have joked about living as old ladies in a mansion together since we were little.
Funny, no?
ps: I saw exact old ladies like this at the beach, in gowns and all, about 22 years ago. I just stared and marveled at them. It was so surreal.
2) 30 tomato plants in my garden, and some are offering signs of love. Thank goodness!
3) We are still picking peaches from our tree (most are dangling on the ground from the weight of the branches), and knocking ourselves on the head, whilst thanking you for the freezing idea. How silly we are, frantically baking, juicing & inventing recipes, when we could be freezing them. I am off to slice and freeze. So silly not to have thought of that. Thanks for the tip, hooray!
See you soon!

My mouth begins to juice up every time you talk about your peaches and show the lovely pictures. I’m one of those who just stands under the tree and eats while the juice runs to the elbow and then drips to the ground.
heeeheeee! Picture of picture perfect pumpkin babies in bed cracked me up! 😀
That video almost made me cry. I’m not doing such a good job processing the whole idea of getting old, but I’m going to have yards of stringy white hair like those little ladies, I just know it. It’s already starting to turn silver & wiry in places… *sigh*
P.S. Have you heard of Florence + the Machine? She is my new FAVORITE!! Not quite as haunty as this, but lyrically amazing! 🙂 “Blinding” is my fave.
Pumpkin babies! You made me laugh with that! I really don’t think you should eat them now! Too cruel!
I will watch the video soon-it sounds good. I love Grey Gardens. Sad but so lovely. I am making Red Riding Hood and Granny dolls today(Mr Wolf comes tomorrow) and the Granny has wild white hair from a sheep’s fleece. She is making me laugh. I would love hair like that when I am (much) older!
Ooo la la pumpkin pie sounds de-lish about right now V! Do you have a whipped cream tree?
Jamie 🙂
You sooo crazy! In the absolute best way of course. Mmmmmm pumpkin cup-caked.
Thanks for the intro to CocoRosie, I’m listening to their my space selection as I type.
Is that a porcelain doll, or something in the first two pictures? It’s hands remind me of a ball jointed doll.
oh fried green tomatoes for sure…and peach parfait wiht real whipped cream….of course…i ned your advice about flickr sometime….i am trying to sort it out and am not ding well…call when you can…ending healing energy for you as i think you still need some good vibrations…XOXOX
Those are some of the most awesome (awesomest?) photos of yours! I love your pumpkin babes, and that photo of the pumpkin king- what a great shot! (I’m such a photography nerd, among other nerdy qualities, hee hee)
I’m not gonna say it, nope. Just not going to. Wellll okay, FALL is COMING!! Yippeeee I can’t wait for hay rides and scarecrows and black ravens. Cauldrons brewing magical potions and..and…oh please someone stop me. haha 😀
I stumbled across your blog whilst following the rabbit trail from a friend’s links, and I’m so glad I did. I’m addicted to seeing what new fancies are posted, and the visual never disappoints! Cutest pumpkins on earth 🙂
You are absolutely hysterical! I am almost rolling on the floor! ‘Do I eat my babies’ indeed! Ha Ha, you are sooooo funny! I have never laughed so hard and so long on your blog before!
The Pumkin King is coming…that is a riot!
Now I’ll have to watch the video and make another comment.
hee, hee
Miss Teresa
Well, the video was a cross between ‘The Dark Crystal’ and ‘Dark Shadows’ which I do believe Johnny Dep is going to be in a new ‘Dark Shadows’ and they are making a sequel to ‘The Dark Crystal’ is is all on Wendy Froud’s blog site. She is the gal who designed the gelflings in ‘The Dark Crystal’…just some interesting stuff that came channeling through me after I watched the music video you posted.
Cheers,to you oh excellent muse of muses…
(And I hope you are cracking up at some of my nonsense)!!!
Miss ‘catty’ Teresa
=^..^=
you have such a unique, colorful, fun, and beautiful blog! i love reading your posts – and mostly looking at your fun pictures. thanks for sharing your talent with us less-gifted :).
Love your pumpkin babies, Vanessa! : ) How cute they are. Lucky you with all those peaches ~ they are one of my favorite fruits this time of year. I had a listen to the Lemonade video and I’m intrigued by this group now! Thanks so much for sharing them.
Vanessa as I have said before, your pumpkins are beautiful! Pumpkins are taking over my house, I just can’t get enough of these lovelies:) Please don’t think I’m fooling but my sister and I have the same idea about growing into little old ladies living in a cute little gingerbread house. I look forward to age…nutty huh? Well my dear have a splendid evening, and I will be back for more of your delightful posting:)
Pumpkin babies!!! Hurray!!! They do look so lovely in their Sunday best. Freezing peaches is also a most wonderful alternative – then you can bake and make preserves whenever you please. 🙂
Thanks for posting that Coco Rosie video. I miss the days when you could actually see lots of creative and artistic music videos on TV. However, that is what Youtube is now for – when I can remember to visit there, that is! 🙂
I’m afraid I have no random things to offer you tonight. Perhaps next time I shall think of something. 🙂
Have a wonderful evening ~ Theresa xoxo
Here in Cali. the tomatoes are green,
The mist and rainingfog have been none ending.
And here tonight the greenhouse is all alight,
Giving waves of moving and dews in sight.
Blackberries make our cobblers wine,
Scones on top blueberry kind.
Dripping berries on the vine,
Plum trees sighing plump with shine.
Dogs sleeping on the couch,
Pearls and silver, turqoise pouch.
Dreams of autumn and pumpkins patch,
V.V.vs pumpkins dressed to dance.
Pumpkin morning and afternoon,
Tomato sandwich, pumpkin seeds room.
Roses twirl and dance on times loom.
Silent amazed you.
hi! i can’t find the link with all the participants in mad tea party! can you help me? also i’m looking for this blog which had a mad party post with handmade dolls sailing in a lake!!!
Oh Vanessa, I l🖤ve l🖤ve l🖤ve the photo of the pumpkin babies in their wee hats in bed!!! Pure genius. So delightful it made me squeal. Are you going to use your stems for anything? I am in desperate need of stems, if your are facing homelessness in the future…I would even return a restored pumpkin to you.
**blows kisses** Deb
Oh Miss Vanessa – I sure do love me some pumpkin bread and peach cobbler…..one day I hope I can get by garden to be fruitful…..evil ground hogs and deer – and rabbits too! AND ANTS! None of my veggies or flowers made it!!!! I’m so bitter.
Oh TOO funny!!! I liked the video too, that’s what I look like every morning before I shave. Ha, you think I’m joking don’t you?
Take Care,
Tracy M.
love same wavelength people – Coco Rosie, Grey Gardens (obsessed) victorian mansions…everyone who heard Coco Rosie (before they were popular) in our car thought “mmm bizarre” until Anthropolgie played it. also love that flocked wallpaper in the video – that kind of thing clicks into my soul – my daughter & I stayed in at The Steinhart in San Francisco for 6 weeks and it looks like the mansion in the video & had the exact same cardboardy wallpaper. walking into the hotel – it was “click-click-click” like I had lived there forever ago….
p.s. when you freeze peaches – use zip-loc freezer bags!
Bellisimos los pumpkin babies!
Besos
Vanessa, you do make me giggle….and thanks for sharing that video – it was incredible! Enjoy your weekend sweet friend x
You crack my up girl! Sweet baby pumpkin murderer 😉 …I’m laughing and drooling at the same time…lol
Thanks for introducing me to Coco Rosieee, I may have to watch that video 16+ times myself!

such a DREAM!
🙂
🖤
Well you know I love Coco Rosie and I will have to get Gray Oceans!!!!
My peach tree is laden this year as well. We anxiously await the right time to pick and hopefully before the birds discover them. So far, Mr. Squirrel has not been around.
My pumpkin babies have not even showed their little orange faces as of yet. Still just little buds. But I am very hopeful!
Enjoy dearest one
Hugging you
SueAnn
I LOVE CocoRosie! “Lemonade” was the first song I’d ever heard and I was hooked. I love how one sister is an opera singer and the other one sounds a lot like Bjork 🙂
My husband is obsessed with pumpkins. When we were house-hunting, we had to find a house with a big enough backyard so we could grow pumpkins in it 😉
I can’t wait for fall!
Fantastic dear! Love Coco Rosie soooo much!!! just adore this video! Pumpkin babies, ahh… the sweeties all nestled in their bed with visions of Halloween candy dancing in their heads! Love it. Blessings dear one.
I love CoCoRosie…me and my little sis are hooked too! Love that house in lemonade…would have to add some color though *wink*!
