Today is a good day.
It's good, not for any particularly huge reason.
But, for lots of little reasons.
I had a week up madly finishing up deadlines for a couple of things. And making some special orders, and shipping out giveaways, and cutting out lots of labels to send across the world.
I got everything shipped out, and then, for the first time in a long long long time, I looked forward to Friday. Yay, Friday.
Friday, and weekends in general, held so much fun as a kid.
There were always slumber parties, pizza places after school.
Today, the weekend looks so good, after a long week.
The thing that kept me level headed this week was, breaking out of the house to smell blooms, and be and garden collect.
There is a lot of magic going on out in the garden.
Gobs of flowers from all the autumn plantings of bulbs and tubers and seeds.
I wake up extra early every day to take care of everyone.
Above you can see bachelor's buttons, coreopsis, and roses, ranunculus, and freesia and crimson clover.
Oh, and a sort of babies breath is all over the garden.
Like a fairy gift.
Oh, and poppies too, must not forget the poppies…
All these little cut flowers from right outside my door, make me feel this immense sense of, wanting to clean my house.
Wanting to paint furniture.
Wanting to polish silver, and wash linens.
They push me to want to fluff and dust and make things all pretty.
The freesia is intoxicating.
You have to be careful not to let it make you dizzy.
In the above photo you can see the freesia at the bottom right.
There are so many shades of freesia growing out there.
White, pink and yellow, reds and yellows, fuchsia and yellow.
Every morning I run outside to see hundreds of poppies multiplying.
Checking on pumpkin sprout sightings, and what new flower I have never seen is going to open up, and tell me its name.
As soon as the spring flowers go, I hope zinnias swim up and take over.
But for now, right before it gets very hot this weekend, the tender springerlies are still here…
The tiniest of wildflowers have come up just everywhere, pinky nail tiny…
The most magnificent creations of nature, ever so teeny tiny.
Isn't it miraculous?
Like baby nails and fingers and toes.
Miraculous and fragile, and soft, and detailed and perfect.
I love to peek into the centers of blooms…

My brain simply can not compute, the perfection of such beauties.
Nature is incredible, isn't it though?
I hope you loved these little collections of blooms I put together for you.
It would be so much easier if you could transport for 5 minutes into my garden as a winged creature.
Alas, that not being possible…
Or is it?
Either way, I enjoyed taking these photos with sharing in mind.
Now, oddly, I feel like washing my floor.
Let's hope it lasts 🙂
Off I go.
Happy weekend!!!
Love, V

Beautiful as always! These blooms remind me of a wild flower mix I planted in an empty field next to our house when I was about 11 or 12. I still remember being amazed when they all bloomed in the colors of the rainbow. Those blue ones especially bring me back…Thank You for bringing so much beauty!
~Andrea~
Gorgeous! I don’t know how you do it in such a dry area. Here in Texas I’m having trouble just keeping grass alive.
Funny how flowers do that, huh? Make you want to pretty everything up around them. Make everything clean and shiny, almost to the flowers justice or to make the house worthy of such beauty.
Andrea, I so agree, the bachelors buttons (the blue ones), are so heirloom
to me – they take me to childhoodmemories of mygrannys
garden. Sigh…. Flowers are so special. They dont even know how
special they are 😉
Francie, I know, the dry is the pits isnt it? How many times a
year do you get rain? Not much in our neck of the woods at all. But
we are on a well, and when it does rain we gather big buckets of rain which I
adoreusing for watering. Also, the washing machine pours out into
one side of the garden as well. The things we do for green ;))
I am sitting here eating trail mix, coaxing myself to go clean the hovel so
I can bring in more flowers 😉
Oh, you know what I do in the garden? I have carved out some little
areas where I plant, and I only water those areas. It is funny how where I
water is green as can be, and right next to that, where I dont water, is mars
🙂
Beautiful spring flowers!!! The baby nail flowers are amazing. The colors are a little like some pansy varieties.
I think it is the freshness of new dainty life in spring flowers that inspires one to spring clean. Tis on my weekend to-do list.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Always, Queenie
Oh thank you for the splendor!!! We have rain/snow/grey YUCK…..I will be looking at this glorious display until the weather around here straights UP….you saved my day, thank you..♣🖤🖤♣🖤Debi
Wow – what a pleasure to see these flowers today! They are just gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing. You do such a beautiful job of tending your garden!
So beautiful!
Vanessa, I am swooning over your bouquets and just wishing sooo very hard I could sniff the fragrance collection of your assorted beauties from your garden! Oh how I wish to be your neighbor!!!! I had my freesias come and go already. Yesterday, a single bloom from a reddish brown sunflower has grace me with its beauty. It looks as though I may get some blooms that never happened last year on my hollyhocks this year? I dunno it is just a mystery garden for me. Ugh, it could be 104 degrees by Sunday! Oh boo hoo where o where did April showers go? Enjoy your Friday and the weekend. <3 & 😉 Miss V!
I love love love the first photo, the way the background disappears and it appears that your flowers are blooming right on your blog! Brilliant! Was someone playing with photoshop a bit? Most excellent. OOoo, I never did hear if my garden fairies arrived at your gardens…
**kisskiss** Deb
Beautiful Deborah,
I am red as a berry, taking a break from doing the spring cleaning in the
gypsy wagon, phewey, its hot!!!
I must swoon with you – the first shot was a lucky one. You know
every so often, you get that lucky one. Doesnt it look like a
painting??? It was the light in the window in back, and then shining
through the poppies the way it was. I think I just did an auto contrast on
it. Which I do by default it seems 😉 The rest, I cant take credit
for – it was all done in a snap, by nature and light itself.
Oh oh, not only did the fairies arrive – I am embarrassed to report.
They are drunk. Of course, I for one dont mind that at all, because they
are so funny when they are drunk. But you see, the have been eating the last of
the fermented pyracantha berries, and just getting all slap happy and hiccupy
:))))
We love them, they can stay forever 😉
Love, V
Queenie, yes yes, the dainty freshness indeeeeeed! clean clean clean time
😉
Debi, Oooo, rain and grey. Oh how I long for rain and grey.
What did the rolling stones say? Was it, you cant always get what you
want? Yes, that must be it ;))))
Melanie – you satisfied my hopeful desire. Liking the flowers make me
so happy 😉 But then – it isnt hard to like a flower, is it?
😉
Miss Kelly, can you believe how hot it is going to be this weekend? I
dont know how you do it where you are. I can be about 10 cooler than
Tucson, which is cooler temp. than you, and still I find it beyond hot.
But, it makes the hollyhocks and sunflowers happy, so that is the best
news. I dont like to go anywhere when it gets terribly hot. The hot
car, oven hot car – and the burning steering wheel. Lets hope for just a
little more rain. Oh heres to hoping!!!! Happy
weekending!!!
ps: Miss Deborah, I was just looking at that first photo again – and
in the background I had not noticed how it looks like someone chopped out bits
of the background like a puzzle of sorts… but it is all work of the sun.
Isnt that curious???
The beeauty of the flowers is intoxicating… the fragance pops right out from the screen… the smells that linger through the screen make you giddy & silly with with an overdose of flower power… the energy I think is truly in the air, because I too am buzzing with quences & tasks that are getting done…
Like the painting of my white picket fence which sparkles with delight… the sorting, organizing & perching of things that move on to other places… I gladly donate them to a couple of organizations that happily pick them up from my porch… its an awesome feeling to let go and give to a good cause…
But there are many treasures left behind that must get a shine and spots that needs to be dusted and windows to be open to let the fresh air and fairies in… As I beegin my weekend I am happbee that I stop by your blog cause it put me in a jolly, vibrate, child like and happbee go lucky way…
Have a honey of a night ~ and may your day tomorrow bee filled with enchanting things to do ;O) xox
Oh Dearest Vanessa, I am ever so embarrassed and apologize at the drunkenness of my garden fairies upon their arrival! Their original keeper of the garden (moi) has a bit of a fancy for wine too…and yes yes yes, you MUST keep them now with their cousins, high upon your magical mountain top, for my last night at the “old house” with the many gardens, all but three wanted to go live with you, rather than stay without me. Three remained in my blue pots which my neighbor has been babysitting at her home, and she will be delivering them this weekend. Do you know if owls hunt garden fairies? There was a little owl outside my door this morning, right under a bush!
And no, the photo is MAGICAL, just like you!
**blows kisses** Deb
Love the flowers, Vanessa—-Thanks for sharing them! Yes, nature is amazing! We’ve been watching loads of nature videos (with David Attenborough) and learning about the jaw-dropping habits of plants, insects, lizards, etc. Sooooo fascinating!!! Have a lovely weekend : )

Bobbypin Sistercakes – When you move back in 20 days – you can come frolic
amongst my flowers, and they can be yours too. But you better come quick –
the rose bushes are going bonkers!! 😉
Beautiful pictures, V! (As always 🙂 I love all of your flowers, they are so colorful and pretty, just like summer! They really add just the right touch of sparkle to your day, don’t they?
Have a lovely day!
P.S. Could you do another post on Through the Secret Keyhole? I love both of your blogs so much 🙂
Always, lovely!
Vanessa, your flowers are beautiful!
At once there was a spinning,
A twirling zooming sort,
Amongst the bed of babies,
Next to the flower fairy fort.
There in the wildflowers,
The little ones play,
Clicking and laughing every day.
Is she coming …
Behind those flowers quick,
Oh my goodness ..clip..clip.clip.
Ah a chance to be a flower who goes inside,
And a time for the fairies to go for a ride.
Ah what wonders amongst the flowers fair,
Once inside Trinkets and, and, tea.
With lovely sweet things everywhere.
Every flower placed so lovingly,
Fairies hiding secret keys.
A;
All in all the plant so tall
Flowers burst towards the sky
And sing oh happy, happy Spring-
And to our Earth Day Queen-
The one and only who conducts-
The desert choir flowers to sing,
And ring a ding fan fairs do bring-
Yes all for Ms V.V. the Barefoot Beautious Earth Day Queen.
Ring a cheers! xo pinkster
Hello Friend!
I haven’t left a little comment in a little while. It is just as pretty as ever in your corner of the world! So glad you are enjoying a pretty spring!
What a happy happy post! It had me smiling and wanting to do a dance, too!!!! Oh how I love to see flowers. Our forget-me-nots are in full bloom. Aren’t they the prettiest little things? We didn’t even think they were perennials – but they came back. I think the faeries are on my side, for sure! xoxo
