Sparkly Morning

It was a lovely weather weekend.  Cool, rain, sun.  A proper April rain is always a gift to the desert.  Not to be expected, and therefore, making us so very very thankful.  Seeds break through the earth, hooray, and we get back into our regular pace of life.  Lovee hammers in the cottage.  The pups wrestle, and I delve into little adventures in my own private Neverland.

Sparkly morning 3a

Monday morning tea, dusting a little.

I love that puttering around the house, moving this and that.  Dusting here and there.  Music, hot sips, enjoying the trinkets and treasures we surround ourselves with.

Taking a moment, to be in the moment.

Sparkly morning 1

I am sneakily enjoying my Through the Trees piece below, while it finds a home.

It safely hangs above the red chair.

Reminding of those secret places in my dreams, and not to ever let go of them.

To take time to cozy up in them, and keep them alive.

You are never to old to dream and believe.

In fact, I am finding it gets better the older you get.

Isn't that curiously grand?

No one ever told me, daydreaming would get so much better.

Believing would be palpable.

Seeing, would be clearer.

You sneakies 😉

Sparkly morning 2

Is the greatest hidden secret, that you actually enjoy childhood more, when you are all grown up?  I don't know?  There are some twists and turns in there that have me thinking.

Pray tell, what secrets do you know??

I know you know something.

I know it.

🙂

I sit and ponder these things with Miss Rabbit, who wears a dress I'd like for myself.

She reminds me of where she was found.

An early in our relationship gift from Mister Lovee.  Found in a cottage shop, down a charming little green bend in Payson, Arizona.

She reminds me of the 11 years together that Mister and I are entering into this very month.

Sparkly morning 4

I never named her.

I can almost smell the shop she came from, as I think of it.

Fresh baked goods was it?

I can see all the wondrous treasures hanging from the cottage rafters.

I remember Mister Lovee picking her up and saying, she is for you.

And holding her, with me thinking, is he buying me that lovely rabbit?  Did he say, she is for you?

I sort of hid in the shop, wondering if I had heard him correctly?

My heart thumping with new love, and swooning with the thought that this man I was head over heels for, saw a rabbit girl in a charming frock, and knew she should be mine?

It wasn't just the gift, but the fact that, I realized right then that he got me.

This sort of stranger, new love, got me.

He handed her to me outside, wrapped in the lovely shop wrappings.

One more reason I fell down the rabbit hole.

🙂

As the years went by, I sorta forgot about rabbit girl.

So when I rediscovered her, I was filled with so much delightment, and memories.

Oh, aren't memories the bestest???

Sparkly morning 5

So, with memories filling my cup, and lots of work on my plate in the studio, I get refueled in my little heart.

Sparkly morning 7

Painting doilies in neon pink.

Yumm.

Sparkly morning 8

And working on some last deadline details, and shipping pieces out.

Sparkly morning 6

All the while, the world goes on in its magnificence outside.

In a giant old saguaro, a momma bird feeds her little babies.

I can hear them.

I am so happy I have my camera in hand.

Snap, oh I got it!

Worm in mouth!

Sparkly morning 9

I am thrilled to have this photo, because in a way I can't describe, momma bird feeding her babes brings such a fulfilled calm sensible feeling.

Makes everything feel a-okay.

Wouldn't you say?

Well, time for work.

Discipline, discipline must implement the discipline.

🙂

Love, V

A sparkly heart

ps:  My weekend was full of listening to a lot of this.  Doesn't it awaken the heart dreams?

  1. Denise Adorian says:

Now that’s what I’m talking about. That’s what I needed.Thank you so much for expressing for Me what I can’t,but feel it.

  2. Kelly says:

Yes Vanessa, you are truly living and moving forward. I am happy that you continue to share the beauty amongst the trials. I feel things happen for a reason and the life lessons we are suppose to learn from, sometime catch up with us later. Enjoy today and smile dear friend, you have much Love to give and you bring joy to so many.<3
PS. Awesome shot of the bird and worm! Wow!;)

  3. High five Miss Denise!! 🖤

  4. Kelly, isnt the bird amazing? I felt so lucky to be standing there
with my camera, just watching the sky and trees, and then, here comes a mama
with a worm for her babies. YAY!
There are soooo many things that happen in life to all of us. I have
learned to try to be practical about things, as best as possible.Sometimes
you fret, sometimes you cry, sometimes you laugh. Its all about ups and
    downs and all arounds.
Move forward and learn is the best thing one can do. We all know when
we have honest good and true intentions. And sometimes, it doesnt happen
    – I believe in destiny. Things happen as they should, quite often… and
we have to learn and see the signs. Then get up, dust off and move
    forward.
    You totally get it 😉
    You are so lovely!!!
    Thank you for your kindness!!!!

  5. Roselie says:

I love your blog so much! And these piece of music is one of my favorites!

  6. Finding Neverland… A movie that so wonderfully shows the power and magic of the imagination gifted to the theatre through the courage of love.
Amazing photo of the mama bird. It is a sight the gives us all hope! No matter how precarious the life of a bird it carries on living and providing to the world.
    Take very good care.
    Have a great day.
    Always, Queenie

  7. Cameron says:

A wistful post….breezing through moments and time….memories and emotions like clothes drying on the line touching one another as they are gently blown in the wind. I can hear a wind chime in the background now, too….
Beautiful, Miss Vanessa, the way you can keep such magic alive….and spread it with such ease.
    Thank you!

  8. thanks for sharing your love story. 11 years…how grand.

  9. Queenie, wasnt it such a gasp worthy movie…. Oh, I cried and cried and
    cried…. 🖤

  10. Cameron, that is lovely…. like clothes drying on the line…. swoon! 🖤

  11. Teresa, 11 years – it went by in one big breath…. so strange… how that
happens 🙂 One big huge sigh of good times, and here we are. Wow 🙂
    🖤

  12. Chris says:

That Finding Neverland was a wonderful movie. I hadn’t expected to like it so much.
Love your story about Lovee and the rabbit. And yes, childhood. Gets better every year.

  13. Chris, doesnt it though?? It gets better every year for sure! You
    are so right 😉 🖤

  14. Jessica says:

I love Neverland, but I have never seen this movie! Hmm, it appears as though I must…I love your little rabbit girl, she is so cute! And isn’t it strange how we enjoy the thrills of childhood more and more as we grow because we understand more of the world? And as children we didn’t really see that so we didn’t appreciate it as much? Um…I’m confusing myself 🙂
But you know what I’m trying to say, right? (Hopefully…)xoxo

  15. Exactamundo Miss Jessica 😉 🖤

  16. i do think daydreaming gets better as you get older…i know for me it has!! i just let my mind wander and wander…much to the chagrin of those around me,most of the time…

  17. Chelsy says:

What an amazing photo! Oh mama bird! The cactus looks so beautiful- love patterns, especially in nature. Beautiful story about you and your Lovee. Wish I had a secret wisdom to share- guess I’m still just a little bud, a little caterpillar. Thanks for sharing your beautiful world with me.

  18. Angela says:

Such a beautiful post as always 🙂 I’ve recently rediscovered your blog after being away from blogland for a while, and the wonderful feeling of whimsy and dreamy imagination that exists here is always inspiring. Miss Rabbit is lovely and I know just what you mean about the nature of the gift. When someone gives you something that demonstrates that he truly “gets you” it’s a heady experience indeed! Thanks for sharing your lovely memories and words 🙂

  19. Amber Leilani, I think wandering minds are the best. They make such
    grand discoveries 🖤

  20. Oh, Chelsy, a wee caterpillar knows so many secrets, and how to avert
danger too, haha 😉 I am sure you have a well of secret wisdom. I
    Just know it 🖤

  21. Angela, I am so glad you came back to blogland. It used to be jam
packed with folks, and then, everyone went on different adventures – but now,
some people are making their way back, and it’s so
wonderful!! 🖤 I love your description of the “I get you” gift.
Having a friend or significant other who gets you, really means so much – it
keeps you from feeling totally insane – at least it does that for me. I
have had boyfriends who soooooo didn’t get me – and it makes one feel nuts. So
exasperated, trying to explain yourself. And you know, they have no
    clue.
So, I feel like, I am lucky now. He ain’t perfect, but hes perfectly
imperfect. And there is no better thing, I think?
🖤 Just remind me of this falala looove comment, when he
and I are disagreeing, tee heeeee 😉

  22. Thank you for posting this. It’s exactly what I was looking for!

  23. Marjorie says:

Your posts always make my days bright! : ) I love the love bunny girl memory!! : ) I hope all is going dreamily there in your magic gypsy garden Miss Twistling!! : )

  24. I know secrets, but I forget that they are secrets… and then I forget the secret altogether… so I am either really bad with secrets or really good with secrets depending on how you look at it.
I love daydreaming. I day dream about all sorts of things… lately it’s been about finding a nice garden fountain and planting my own herbs.
Watcha gonna do with neon pink doilies? Can’t wait to see…

  25. Theresa says:

Oh how I did adore your story of the rabbit. What a sweet gift and such lovely memories behind it. 🙂 It will be 15 years in October for me and my mister. Time truly does fly. 🙂 What an amazing shot of that bird – you can clearly see the worm in its mouth!!!! I did very much enjoy Finding Neverland. It is true how much you cherish childhood when in adulthood. 🙂 It is FUN to act like a child again! It’s never too late to remember. 🙂

  26. Lovely Theresa,
15 years, wowsie!! Isnt it just amazing how the time flies????
its just totally incredible. I cant even compute it in my brain
    ;)))

  27. What a wonderful post, and what a wonderful gift from you Mister. Congratulations on 11 years together! There’s nothing quite like building a life with someone who truly “gets” you, is there?
My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary last September (which was actually 33 if you count the years we lived together) – doesn’t seem that long, and I WAS quite young when I met him, *ahem*…But there it is, 30 years. It flies so quickly.
Thanks as always for a beautiful and inspiring post, and must add, I just love the photo of the Momma bird. An amazing shot. 🙂
    🖤 Carolee

  28. Oops – that should have read “from YOUR Mister”. It’s too early to type accurately, hehe. 🙂

  29. Did you say ELEVEN years? Goodness.

  30. Caroleeeeeeeeeeee!! Hellllo there!! Oh, 30 years?
congrats congrats!!!! Where did the time go?? My goodnessssss. I
dunno. It swooshed by at warped speed :)))
    xoxo

  31. Laura, si, once, aye aye aye!!! ps: I typed your names in
    Spanish 🙂 haha!

  32. Dana Laviano says:

    Hi Vanessa,
I can’t find your archives! Have you taken them down? I’ve been making my through them whenever I have some time but yesterday I went to read some and they aren’t there!
    Sincerely,
    Dana

  33. Hi there,
I dont know anything about the archives missing, how strange.
Sometimes the blog service does updates or work on the site and things go
haywire 🙂 That happened a couple months ago, my archives disappeared for
two days. I think they will come back soon. I hope. I will
always keep the archives up, I promise 😉
It is so nice to know that you are reading back posts. That is so
    great!!
    Warmest, Vanessa

  34. Hi Vanessa, Blog hopping today and nice to pop over and look around.
Lots to to see and a pleasure to browse. Enjoy your weekend.

  35. Jenn says:

Miss Vanessa, I can’t help it.
One day, I hope to find a man to celebrate my uniqueness like Mr. Lovee does for you. I am alright on my own for now lol! But one day, I think it would be nice to finally meet someone who understands me. Heaven knows Mr. Lovee is a good catch, if he dresses up as the Mad Hatter and gets fully into character, and completely understands and appreciates your aesthetic. I find that rare in not only menfolk, but in friends as well.
You two give me faith there are people out there who truly appreciate each other’s eccentricities and wonderfulness 😉

  36. pixie says:

Beautiful! I love all things sparkly…those little stars are lovely. Hope you have a wonderful and magical weekend.

  37. Miss Jenn ~ You will certainly find him, I know it Just
remember to keep your eyes and ears open, and possibly you will find your loves
heart in the most unlikely chap. Its like, you will bump into him – and
You might know right away – but you might not know right away 🙂 So, what
I used to do is ask the heavens to open my eyes when the time is right 😉
And it worked. The most unlikely unusual character, older and wiser (in
someways)than I, became my very own mad hatter. Just like
    that, tee hee 😉

  38. Danka lovely Pixie 😉 Dont stars make the world a better
place? They turn everything magical it seems…

  39. Ann says:

You have such a sweet gift for writing – and it’s so fun to read. What a treasure you and your husband have in each other. And what a gift that you both appreciate it that so much. And what an adorable rabbit. Wouldn’t my grand children love to have him come visit so they could pull out their very favorite toy tea sets and entertain with it. 🙂 Thanks for a lovely visit.

  40. DogsMom says:

Very quick. Just as Mister Lovee “gets you” by knowing you will adore a rabbit, my guy (of nearly a quarter century) knows I have never seen great value in jewelry. I always held out for LAND.
Anyhow, people kept asking him when he was going to buy me a “rock.”
A few years ago he did. It is a lovely hunk of granite, painted bright blue, with a face painted over that.
Yup – he “gets” me and knows my style.
