Somerset Life is such an inspiring and beautifully put together magazine…
Every issue I have seen is lush and lovely. The pages are ever so exquisite. It's one of those magazines that you want to hide out with, and immerse yourself in.
Yumm.
It even inspired me to doodle on my hand 🙂
But why such excitement over the current summer issue you ask?
Why, it's because we got to be a part of it, and are sooooo excited!!
I wrote an article called "Sharing Dreams," which was inspired by all the people I have met virtually, through and because of A Fanciful Twist…
My mom and sis picked up a copy at Michael's craft store.
You can find the issue many other places, or order online (summer 2012).
If you get the chance and are interested, I would just love for you to jump in and read. And maybe, just maybe, you will feel the vibe of what I speak of, and how you have helped create the feeling.
The blogosphere has changed so much over the last year.
Slowly, people have come and gone.
Lives get busy, interests change.
One thing for sure is…
I am so overjoyed that so many of us are still out here.
Yay for that!
I love when folks stop by to say hello, because truly, when you say hello and let me know you are out there, I am inspired to continue writing and sharing and snapping photos.
Inspired to continue coming here several times a week.
And I especially love, when folks who have stopped blogging, start again.
It's sooo good to have you back!
I have such a tender spot in my heart, and feel like I know so many of you, and that, in some way we are really connected. I wonder if you feel the same way too?
Thank you for that.
Thank you for being here.
And so, I wrote this article about you and me, and how we found our way to this funny little virtual world called the internet, and through it, to like minded souls. It's a gift, and a miracle, this internet thing, isn't it?
I hope that in some little way, through searching for inspirations myself, I have imparted even a tinge of inspiration to you. Because honestly, your words and kindness inspire me.
Yes I am a sentimental sap.
Ah well, could be worse.
I love the sharing of dreams…
Whether dreams are big or small, or outrageous one and all – each one matters.
Each dream counts.
Each hope goes out into the air and spins around – and if you hold on…
Somehow, believe can turn into is.
I have learned that the little dreams are crucial.
Day to day hopes and dreams, that really do come true.
Let's never forget those, whatta ya say?
And maybe, just maybe…
You'll plunge into doodle hands and glitter feet?
(if you haven't already that is)
Who knows, maybe one day we can meet for a doodlefest.
Faces, arms, toes….
In the meantime, if you happen to doodle on yourself, good golly, you simply must let me know!
;)
Thank you for you.
Let's keep the fun super alive, shall we?
Oh also, I will be giving away a copy of this issue. All you have to do is say hello in comments, and I will enter your name into a hat. I'll draw a name for the next post.
Love, V

OH….this is good news. The best news! I will pick up a copy ASAP!
Wouldn’t it be fun to find a central meeting point where all of us “friend-artist-bloggers” could meet up? I’d be there in a heartbeat.
Congratulations on the magazine article. Bless you for sharing your world. Times are hard in today’s world. The economy is a dirty pain and sometimes, it’s easy to lose track of your dreams…the good things in your Everydays. You make me stop and think about those good things. Gotta take stock of the blessings, or we can be overwhelmed with the badness!
Thank you for shining light on the good things!
xoxo

Hello 🙂
Ooh I would love to enter! I absolutely love the hand art! Haha so inspiring! So you’re right handed? I was just looking at your hand and it was your left, so I figured you must be right handed…haha detective Jessica, on the case!
I love coming to this place. It makes all of my qualms disappear. And I will definitely have to pick up an issue of the magazine if I don’t end up winning 🙂 Your art and pictures are so inspiring, on an imaginative and personal level. Without your blog, I would not be who I am today. Thank you for everything! xx
Hellooooo….how delightfully wonderful & beautiful!!! ~H🖤~
P.S. Love the hand doodling!
Good for you! Such fun news!
Lisa
Oh how wonderful for you Vanessa! Those pictures look fantastic! Thanks so much for a chance at the giveaway. I’ve never looked at this magazine. If Lady Luck is not smiling on me i will have to track one down anyway!! Hugs! deb

i feel a little bit of magic and joy each time i read your blog…thankyou vanessa x
Thank you so much for sharing that you are in this issue–it also serves as a reminder to me that I’d like to get a subscription to that magazine, as well as WHERE WOMEN CREATE. I’ve been working on economizing, but I still need to look at some pretty things to inspire and help with my dreams.
Also, on a whole other note, thank you for sharing about your fur boys–we just lost one of ours, my sweet Boomer, because of complications with surgery/cancer. It was so sudden, and he was so sweet. Our other boy, Blaze, is lonely, and so are we. It’s helped to read of your dog love because not everyone gets why I’m still so sad.
Hello Vanessa, I always find your blog an inspiring and beautiful place to visit. Thank you for being so open with your heart. Em 🖤
(I’ve designed and made a pair of pink opal earrings for my latest giveaway, it would be lovely if you fancied entering.)

I am back from Vacation and now look what U R doing, Decorating even your hands and feet! Ahh! It’s good to be back!
It is lovely seeing that you have graced the pages of the Somerset magazine Miss Vanessa. Congrats!!!<3
Thanks for the chance to win! I love all the Somerset pubs, but they aren’t often in my budget. I love your blog, too.
Most excellent!! Congratulations on being in this lovely magazine, words and pictures and magical everythingness!!!
Most especially, thank you for being you there and here and everywhere!
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
Love this magazine and would love winning a copy. Congratulations on the coverage! Such an honor and you deserve it.
Well, Missy, I’m one of those whose been away for a while. Not really. I just don’t comment as often. BUT – I always manage to stop by the gypsy wagon and peek in, pet the boys and then catch a glimpse of your latest adventure. It’s always nice to “see” you. Take care! – Kathy
Hello..Love your blog..if I were to doodle on my hand, it wouldn’t look as fancy as yours..That’s a great magazine..I haven’t seen one for quite some time..I should subscribe..Maybe if I win your copy , I shall!!! Congratulations !!
I can’t wait to get the magazine, too! Since I’m a dreamer…I feel like you’re talking to me! I’m so glad we are friends! I am excited and happy for you! Sweet hugs! ~Lavender Dreamer~
See?!?! I told you!!!! It was greatness, huh?
Absolute greatness!!!!
It’s so funny….when I was a teen, I swam competitively and before each meet we would sit down with magic markers and doodle all over our (each other’s) swimsuited bodies. It was rather unnerving for the opposing team to have to swim against human artwork…and for us it was a blast. Thanks for reminding me of something long ago. Your blog is one of my favorites! Thanks for being there!
Oh yippee, I always love the Stampington Mags (especially when you are in them 😉 Please count me in for a chance to snag a copy! If I don’t win…you know I’ll still have to snag one though! Love the doodles V…although I’m going to have to hide this post from my eldest daughter, who has been doodling on herself all summer with an expo marker and I keep getting on her about it, hahahaha. YOU miss V, are a bad influence, hahaha…j/k…you’re THE BEST!
Hugs,
Jamie 🙂
I knew I should have picked it up when I saw it at Joanns, Vanessa! I was so intent on trying to find a pattern for a sewing class I signed up for, that I kept telling myself “no” for everything else that caught my eye. Does the 2-year-old granddaughter finding a pen and drawing lines on her legs and arm count? ; ) Thank God, baby wipes take it right off! I’d love a chance to win a copy, but otherwise I will make sure to pick one up.
Wow, congrats! So cool to be in a magazine…
congrats! i will surely pick up this issue when I see it! Love the doodles on your hand. what kind of pens did you use?
happy day!
xoxo

Hello Dear V! I would love to win a copy of your awesome article. Contests! Sleekly blessings to you!
Um, I typed sparkly. Darn autocorrect.
I truly hope you never stop writing and sharing your photos here. You are such a highlight and always brighten my day. You remind me that magic does indeed exist.
Thank you.
HELLO!!!!! If I don’t win the magazine, I will definitely have to get my hands on a copy! I don’t think you can imagine in a million years how much you inspire your readers. As I’ve said in the past, I believe there are many who don’t comment but stop by for a reminder of the magic that surrounds us. You capture it so well. You have inspired me to put my heart into my garden, and my soul into my cooking. I’ve made many of your recipes, the cotton ball Christmas trees (lovely!), and many more projects. I am always so grateful you are there working so hard to produce each lovely post. Thank you so much for being there!!!!
I am one of those people who stopped for awhile and then came back to blogging. For awhile i just didnt have anything i wanted to say. It is nice to be back. I cant tell you how much i missed it. I would love to do the mad hatter, but i could never best my posts from last year in the time i have left. I could repost part of last years party though.
Hellooooooo… 😉
Now off to doodle.
Awwww…
Thank you for YOU! And for this magical place you’ve created. ^-^
I just lovelovelove coming here, seeing your photos, reading your words. You whisk me away from any troubles and always, ALWAYS, brighten my day. You’ve managed to create a community of love and laughter and magic… no small task!
Off to finish staffing the hospital, but tonight when I get home, there will be much doodling! =D
XOXO
oh i’m so happy for you vanessa!!!i’d love to have this issue!
thanks!
What an adventure….Marvelous…
Congrats I so adore the hand painted celebration.
xo
Sis, I am totally happy, proud, and excited for you and this spread. I left my copy at your house when I went to sit in your AC because mine was broken…
Our brother and I went to Barnes and Noble the other day and I showed it to him. I swear he almost showed it to everyone in the building. He was like, “hey, this is my sister… hi, my sister is in this magazine… howdy, I have an amazing artistic sister, she’s in this magazine.”
We are over the moon with excitement for you. So lucky to have such an amazingly talented sis!
Congratualations! The pictures look beautiful, I’ll definitely be ordering a copy.
Good morning Vanessa, how wonderful. I would love to see the article. It’s not easy to get that particular magazine over here, ut I will give e-bay a try. Best wishes Lesley UK
Oh Miss Vanessa, It is awsomely wonderous…Congratulations. I’ve said this before, you are so inspiring. I come to your blog everyday to see what newness you have brought to the table and the magic you share. I am out and about this morning and I hope to find Somerset Life at Michaels.
Thank you for all you share and I love the doodles on your hand. It looks like so very much fun.
Congratulations on your new article. I will have to hunt down a copy of the magazine myself. I find all your posts and articles inspiring. I wear the bracelet I won from you constantly and love how it makes me feel connected and artistic. I always tell people who ask about the amazing artist who created it and the blog. 🙂
Keep doodling!!
Hello! I so enjoy reading about your pups and garden and art; I find out about all kinds of neat music that I fall in love with that I would never have found otherwise. I LOVE the blogosphere! So many lovely souls sharing and caring – we get the delight of inspiring one another and being inspired!
Also, your doodles are adorable! =)
YOu bring joy into my life Vanessa, especially when the blue clouds gather…I just blog over to “fanciful” and voila! all is good with the world, thank you for your commitment to us! I love Somerset as well, up here in Northern Canada, I ordered online, but it costs so much…so I plan my trips to civilization and Micheal’s is always on my list….stock up time.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to us! Northern Ontario Canada loves your adventures! 🖤Debi
Please include my name in your Top Hat for the magazine giveaway! fingers, toes, eyes crossed~🖤~
I would enjoy reading your article Vanessa. Thank you for your ongoing inspiration!
Cheers,
Dana Laviano
Your sweet sister’s comment made me smile. It’s wonderful having your siblings so close, eh? As far as Stampington and Co goes…I want them all! I love every single publication of theirs. I used to use my ACMoore coupons to purchase them; but they’ve put a stop to it…drat! Congrats on your feature…hopefully I can get my hands on a copy.
Vanessa,
Congratulations on your article, and may I say that that is one completely lovely hand painting!
Back when I was in kindergarten and teachers were still allowed to misbehave, we used to paint masterpieces with extra large brushes and big cakes of tempera paint.
I fell madly in love with the magenta colour and on at least one occasion painted a nice heavy coat of it on the palm of my left hand.
I remember one day admiring my handiwork 😉 when I was suddenly and rudely apprehended by the teacher, who saw this as a serious transgression of some rule or other.
I was spanked in front of the class, and made to go and wash all traces of that loveliness off my hands.
For me, magenta will *always* be the colour of rebellion, and yes, I still paint my hands!
such good news, i love somerset life, I have a few issues that i keep looking at for innspiration. Yay I am thrilled you have made it to the pages of the magazine. Love how you decorated your hands. Hugs Sara
Hallo!
Love your blogging…it inspires me to be creative and to write.
Your photos always inspire me to decorate my own home!
When in the quiet mornings I need to ‘dream while awake’… I visit you and get lost too.
You do inspire… Congratulations
never stop sharing your inspirations, stories, photos and madness!!! we love you, the colour you bring and the ideas that start us on our journey…… Congratulations & how awesome to be in such a great magazine…. well done you. hugs Olive xxx
Dearest Vanessa, Beloved friendling o’mine, I have been meaning to email you about the latest issue of Summerset Life. whilst doing my weekly shopping, at Costco of all places, I saw the latest issue and couldn’t resist picking it up for a peek inside. The cover colors nearly made me swoon with delight, but can you image my heightened delightment when I flipped to a random page and there stood Mister Lovee all decked out in his Hatter attire. I wanted to skip about the isles and stop everyone to say, “Look! It’s Vanessa’s Mister!!! I know her and she’s the most fantastical Elfin creature on EARTH!!!” Of course I didn’t because people would think I was nuts, but it was gping on in my head…truly it was!! I ran home and showed it to my hubby. Even he was excited about it!!
You my Kindred little Elf sister are such a blessing to so many…to me “-).
Much love from my end of the world to yours…Cori
This is so sweet!! It reminds me of a beautifully illustrated book that my girls love, “I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More”. For no less than 3.5 years, you have inspired me to be true to myself. I am my own worst enemy when it comes to being held back. I am terrible for living the way I think others want/expect me to live. I can only hope to love myself and value my selfworth sooner than later….for my daughters’ sakes. I want them to live wholly, abundantly, and spherically…in all directions, touching the souls of everyone they meet. Thanks for always being so forthcoming with us all. I am very grateful for you and your little oasis in the desert. <3
I saw the latest issue of SSL and ran home to read your DREAMY dreamy ever so dreamy blog! Oh my goodness I love it, and your golden is so beautiful(I had one for 14 years, it’s been three years since I lost him and I can’t bring myself to get another one yet,)
the pink dollhouse just about made me drop all of my art supples while standing in line at Michaels. you are divine thanks for sharing, blogging is a lot of work and I look forward to more post.
You new fan!

Vanessa,
You are such an inspiration. I started making jewelry at age 52 because I came upon fanciful twist. Keep on going!!
I come to visit you everyday, you make me smile and are so inspiring! I love your art, and I love, love all the photos you post! I have been known to doodle on my hands, feet, and legs (hehe)…and my friends hands, feet and legs as well! cheers to you Vanessa!
Hello!! Whist reading, I was inspired to let you know that I am still here, and pop in at least twice weekly to see if you have posted anything new, though I haven’t posted recently. I always eagerly await the screen to load, and blink with excitement… and voila! When it happens, I am so happy! 😀 Thank you for bringing such sparkle and wonder! 😉 xoxo
How awesome for you to be included!
I also love your hand doodle. Just heavenly!
Reading your blog feels like coming home. I imagine others feel the same, too. Except, I also feel welcome to share your passions, but to utilize them with own personal twist, which makes it unique to me. But it’s still a connection. Not copying, but inspirational. Does this make sense? lol.
Anyway, any time I see that you have a post up, my day is cheered! (But no pressure! haha)
Dearest Dear Miss Vanessa,
Aren’t you just the sweetest? I will have to order a copy to read since I no longer get to duck into the bookstore and buy a copy while waiting for my bus when we lived in the city. And through all the complications of our life that took us away from our lives in the city, I have still tried to maintain my blogging (sometimes with more success than others). I am so very grateful to you, Dear Vanessa, because (and I am telling you this most truthfully), just when I would think I should not bother to blog anymore due to too many real-life things tarnishing the shine I have tried to portray in my blog, you would hold yet another blog party and then I just couldn’t quit! I love them so and you make them so much fun! I have so enjoyed getting to “meet” you in Blogland, as well as other friends I have “met” through your blog parties. Thank you so much for sharing your warmth, your art, your generous spirit and just all that you are! You continue to be such an inspiration to me!
With biggest hugs,
Betty
Dear Vanessa, This post reached my heart. I started blogging some years ago, and then left it aside, due to life in general. Through these years, although I have stopped blogging, I have continued reading you blog and many others; but almost never dared to leave a comment.
The first reason why I opened my blog, was because I wanted to be like you. You blog, your creations, your art, your fancifulness, your happiness… I wanted to achieve the life that you carry on.
I think this is the opportunity to let you know that, although some people stop blogging or commenting, it doesn’t mean they have stopped reading what you post. You are such an inspirational person…please, never change!
Lots of love, Nicole
Wow congratulations on being featured again, I try to collect all magazines that publish your magic! Wouldnt it be wonderful if one day you published your entire gorgeous blog into glossy tomes, what delightful fairy tales we could take to bed and immerse ourselves in for hours on end. I would most certainly buy every single addition! Xxxx Love Love Love you Miss Fanciful!

I may be in the UK but I still want to read your magazine article somehow!
Love that hand, what paint did you use for the doodle? x
I may live near Somerset but I don’t know how to get my hands on that lovely zine as I live in the UK, please add my name to the hat!
Love the painted hand Vanessa, to go with the golden feet. Have you ever painted any other parts of the body? I once had my entire naked body painted as a piece of ‘art’ when I was an artist’s model. Chilly but fun! x
I live near Somerset but I don’t know how I’m going to get hold of that magazine as I’m in the UK, so please put my name in the hat!
Love the decorated hand to go with those gold feet. Reminds me I once had my naked body painted from head to toes when I worked as an artist’s model. That was one liberating day! x
I don’t know why you just received that 3 times, doh, it didn’t seem to be posting each time I’m sorry to spam you! My name only counts once in the draw! x
Congratulations, Miss V!!! The pictures in the magazine are oh so dreamy! I imagine at your country house bubbles bouncing about, everything sparkling, music entwined with a magical breeze… I’m so excited for you! Thank you for sharing your magical world with me. And how can you even question whether you’ve inspired me? If not for you my home wouldn’t be adorned with tiny ghosties at Halloween, paper snowflakes during winter and flower-pressed waxed paper during summer! Coming here, to your enchanted blog, I feel a little lighter throughout the day; you help me see the magic. Thank you!
Emalina, you didn’t spam me, don’t worry 😉
Ohhhhh, everyone is being so so so nice – sniffle sniffle!!!
Oh oh, paints….
I just used a regular pilot rolling ball stick pen – and then just everyday acrylic craft paints and glitter over wet paint 😉
I also made sure to wash and dry my hands really well, so the pen would write – as it is hard to do with body oils.
😉
xoxo
Hand doodling… better than henna!
Candace, Still in Athens
Your posts always bring smiles and inspiration, I can’t wait to see the new issue of Sommerset!
Congrats Vanessa, your work is always gorgeous!
Congratulations!!! What a wonderful way to celebrate your blog- it is such a pleasure to drop in and be inspired by your “amazingness”.
Just a short comment to say – I’m here, I’m here. I read every post you write and really appreciate them. I garden vicariously through your vegetable, fruit, and flower posts, love hearing about the latest fur boy antics, and very much enjoy your perspective on life. Thanks for being such a bright spot in the blogoshphere.
Oh V, Can you just bottle up your silly, whimsical happiness and send it to me please. Or maybe I can move next door and some of your wonderfulness will rub off. I just can’t seem to find my happiness. As the mad Hatter says (in the movie) I have lost my “muchness”. You seem to have oodles of it, can you spare some please. I keep plugging along but the world is grey right now. Color comes in on occasion, like when lovely blog people say hello to me and offer words of encouragement (I really do understand the connectedness you speak of). Or when I manage through the grey to actually create art, even when I don’t want to but I have to for my work (Oddly enough I have a black, white and grey wedding this weekend). Gotta find some “muchness” for the bride, hope it is around somewhere.
I am so glad you are in Somerset magazine, I will go out and get a copy right away. Your photos and pics always make me smile, I need that right now. Thank you so very much for your beautiful art and words, they help.
Tricia
Hello Vanessa! So happy for you about your latest article. Your blog is the only one I consistently follow. I was throwing my first big Halloween party & somehow found you. Your online party really captured my imgination and I was hooked. I have followed you for years now and have directed many people to you. There is just something magical about your life that resonates with me. I can’t live without magic! Thanks for sharing your life with us and fora always being there! Karen
Hello! Miss Magical Vanessa~
I have a warm fuzzy feeling in my hands, and toes, and my whole being after reading about your serendipity excursion into the world of Somerset Life. This is exactly why I began blogging…to encourage the creative side of those of us who are kindred spirit in this fairy tale realm of enchanting bliss!!! Even if I don’t blog but three times a month or sometimes more, it keeps me connected to my magical online blogosphere friends!!! I know you have taken me down the road of imagination to worlds of ethereal whimsy each and every time I arrive at your ageless blog. Time seems to stand still here every time I come…there seems to be no time here at all…like I step into Wonderland and loose myself in stuff and nonsense. (Not always nonsense, though.) As we do get pretty serious at times in our comments to your posts that cover everything from moonbeams to thunder showers.
I can’t wait to get this amazing Somerset Life issue!
Congratulations for being published yet again to cheer us all on in our rainbow colored world.
lots of love and hugs and magical fairy kisses!

Of course you were featured! Hooray! Visiting you here, your words and pictures are like real-life dreams!
I’m happy that you are still blogging too, Lady V. You are so right, blogland has changed a lot. It’s great to know there are still people blogging with heart, creativity and adventure like yourself.
Love the hand art you did. Simply pretty.

SooOOOOOooOooOooOOO cute!!and precious! What wonderful memories YOU are making! Keep it up!!!YOU haven’t already written a book have YOU?!! because I have missed a lot of blogging!
Your hand art is so cool, i love it! Congratulations on gracing the pages of Somerset Life. I can’t wait to get a copy, simply because you are in it. I love your blog, it’s one of my favorites, it’s dreamy, whimsy, magical, such a happy place. You are an amazing storyteller, photographer, baker, artist…your imagination has no boundaries. You are a true inspiration and I’m so glad you are still here.
have a lovely day! -vivian
Oh! Miss Vanessa! That is just marvelous news! I will be on the hunt for that issue so that I can point to the author’s name and tell all the hapless souls at my Michaels that day that I “know” you! I have not been around much for commenting but that doesn’t mean I am not here! In fact you are one of the reasons that I started blogging in the first place. I can vividly recall finding the Artful Blogger magazine in the fall of 2008 and reading all about you. Yours is the first place that I stopped and it was magical. I had no idea what this blogging thing was but you hooked me. I fell so far down your rabbit hole that I am not sure how I ended up where I am today, but it has been a lot of fun! I am on my own adventures and my blog is very dear to me, a place where people can come and share and think and create, and to think that all started with seeing your blog. And you want to know the truth? You actually responded to my first comment and that set the tone… I knew that I wanted to do the same. I am so proud of you for all the success you have manifested for yourself because I know that making dreams come true is sometimes a rough and tumble business filled with twists and turns. You navigate them gracefully and with such style. Many blessings to you, Miss Faery Princess! Enjoy the {sparkly} day! Erin
Hello! And this brought back happy memories working from when I taught in all-girl’s school in the UK. Gel pens were still new and the girls used to draw such pretty and sweet things on their hands and knees (under the desk, away from teacher) I thought it was a really creative and spontaneous thing to do. Stuffy headmistress didn’t like it at all.
Congratulations on being featured! It’s just another one of those wonderful things the Internet has given us; being able to get out there and be recognised and acknowledged, bringing like-minded people together in a positive and supportive way. Yes please, through my name into the hat for the giveaway.
Somerset puts out such beautiful magazines. I am looking forward to reading your article. The pictures are gorgeous of course, but your words resonate as well. You mix reality with whimsy and it all leaves an impression of “Yes, life can be sad and hard. But it can be lovely, too.” After two years of reading your blog, you have become like a friend to me. A neighbor of mine has some baby pumpkins in her yard and I thought of you 🙂
You know me my sweet Vanessa…I would sure be honored if chosen to acquire this lovely issue that you are in.
xoxo,
Dena
hi vanessa….i don’t always leave a comment…but i always come here and fall into your magical world…..and leave here with a smile on my face and glitter in my hair!! i will go get my copy of the magazine tomorrow!!!

I would love to win the magazine! I love Somerset Life! Love your painted hand as well! What kind of paints or pens did you use on your hand?
Congrats Vanessa, beautiful photos I must get a copy or better yet WIN your copy ;))
I used to doodle like crazy when I was about 15-16 yrs old…my friends and I would doodle on ANYTHING we could. Makes me want to do it again so thank you for your inspiration to do this “fun art” again. Also your words of inspiration on blogging…I have been thinking of quitting my blog as seems people never leave comments and I am now offering a GIVEAWAY and no one seems interested…ITS A BASKET OF SUMMER FUN!!!! Time moves on and people change and maybe a change is coming for me too. Happy Day to you â€â€â€
Hi there Ann, I used a regular rolling ball Pilot brand pen that I had on my desk and some random little acrylics craft paints…. it was unplanned 🙂
The one thing I did do was wash my hands really well, to make sure the drawing would stick. I am a lotion obsessed person, so, that was the only hard part, no lotion on the doodled hand 😉
Somerset Life does look amazing! I wonder if I can get hold of a copy here in the UK? 🙂 x
Hello Sweet Vanessa–Thanks for turning us on to what looks like a lovely magazine. And I’m certain that I’ll enjoy it when I find a copy because YOU recommended it. And now I’m inspired to henna my hands.
Oh I must get a copy of that issue! I was never able to find the one that you were in earlier. I love your doodled hands. So cute! You are definitely an inspiration and every time I come here I leave with a smile. That in itself is a wonderful thing.

How exciting. Congratulations! And yes, I do write on my hand but I’m afraid I’m much more prosaic and not nearly as cute as yours. Mine is generally reminders when I don’t have a notepad handy. But yours is so much prettier, much like that of my granddaughter’s. I can’t wait to show her this. And am definitely looking forward to the Mad Tea Party 2012 coming up SOON!
Love you to pieces Vanessa! So excited about the magazine article!
God bless!
Hello Vanessa,
That is how I found your site, I got the magazine and was so amazed by the article that I said I just have to visit her site. I love everything your have done here! I looked through your past Mad Tea Parties and found some other lovely blogs. I hope to participate in the upcoming tea party, just haven’t committed yet.

How to make a beautiful hand even more beautiful. Only you, my Beloved Muse, only you. I cannot wait to venture to the book store to pick up a copy!!! I also cannot wait to get back to blogging myself. I miss you and my bloggy friends much. And yes, I have REAL friends from blogging, whom I have never met in person, yet they are at times truer than the friends down the street. Sending you Big Love, Deb
Hello! 🙂 hey, gal! I really want to start a garden and I was wondering if you have any tips I live in îŠFlorida so it gets pretty hot around here. It would mean a lot if you would give me some garden tips. You are a very inspiring person, in fact before I read your blog I almost never picked up a paint brush and now I paint all the time. Thank you 🙂 
Izzy, the best thing to do is go to your local botanical gardens or even
just a store that sells plants….Buy a couple of things that do well in your
zone, that you like – and plunge. That is how i began. The best
thing though – it to really look into what works in your climate and speaking to
professionals — a botanical garden is the perfect place to start in my
opinion. Granted, I grow things that are not for my climate zone, and that
takes extra work. But you in Florida, ooooo, you could plant sooo many
things!!! Good luck!!
A bit late I be. Wonderful news that once again you are published!!! I love to come here for a bit of escape. I enjoy imagining living in a beautiful, whimsical, dreamlike world! Oh, and of course you throw in a healthy dose of reality now and then, just to keep it “real.” Thank you so much for all you offer us here!
Oh happy day!!! That is EXCELLENT news, Vanessa. It looks like such a lovely magazine – I can’t wait to read the article. I know it will be most amazing. I do so love the blogging community – for through it I have met the most wonderful people (like yourself) who I might not have ever been able to get to know. Although miles and sometimes countries separate us, we can still form strong bonds. And that is a great thing! 🙂 I love sharing your whimsical world with you. 🙂
Hello Friend!
It is funny how blogland sort of ebbs and flows isn’t it? I don’t always comment but I do visit you! And I am so excited you are in Sommerset! I will be making a trip to Michaels to find it!

I can’t wait to read it…I need to touch and hold a magazine, it is so much more exciting..hehe then I can keep it for ever and ever..will have to order it as the places that stock things of such gorgeousness are few and far between in my little part of Australia.

Congratulations! It looks like a lovely article. I so enjoy your blog, but I also have appreciated your personal feedback I had a couple years ago when choosing to upgrade to a new digital slr. Sometimes I only have time to pop in for a quick look, but at other times I linger and enjoy each photo and blog entry. So just thanks so much for the time you devote your blog!
As soon as I read your post yesterday I rushed out and bought the magazine. Beautiful publication and I must just subscribe!
