I love socks.
You?
In fact, I am sort of crazy about them.
All socks, any socks.
Well, with the exception of weirdly made tight socks that strangulate your feet.
I love fun socks.
Wacky socks.
Elegant socks.
Happy socks.
Silly socks.
Fuzzy socks.
Silky socks.
Beautiful socks.
So ugly they're cute socks.
All patterns, all colors.
Polka dot socks, polka dot shoes.
I love sock drawers.
Tidy organized happy sock drawers.
Creepy sheer socks?
Sure!
Argyle next to santa with red feathers?
Certainly!
Super cozy knee socks to stuff in warm boots?
Yep!
And my fave.
Frog socks.
Endless swarms of frog socks.
Oh yes.
I love them.
Piratey socks?
Aha.
Knitted bright pompom slipper socks?
Oh yes, please.
(I love slippers too)
Metallic striped oober long?
Okay.
Oh and tights.
I have 2 drawers of tights.
Awesome leg adornments, tights are.
I love a solid thick black tight.
But lacey oolala is fun sometimes too.
Stole these angels below from Mombie years ago.
(more like, borrowed and never returned)
Thanks Mombie!
Oh oh, and what about stacks of freshly bleached, warm laundered whites?
Mmmm.
Looooove white socks.
Several years ago a friend of mine was having a house warming party, and she was fretting about her new carpet, and all the dirty shoe bottoms visitors would bring into her new house.
So, my gift to her was a sock plan, plus the socks.
I bought about 40 paris of socks, and decorated them all with flowers and beads.
And ribbons.
They were so over the top and fun.
As people walked in, they traded their shoes for brand new snazzy socks.
It was a hoot.
(I have no pics of them, darn)
Everyone had quite a chuckle, and they got to keep the socks.
I highly recommend doing that if you find yourself in the same pickle.
(Just embellish the outsides, so that they are still easy to put on)
With those memories I was inspired to make a lil' giveaway sock love.
Start with a new pair of socks…
Then grab some ribbons, mushrooms, buttons, beads – anything you want for embellishing.
I chose some brand new black socks today, and added some vintage black lace ribbon, olive green satin and pink and white striped ribbon.
I hot glued them on, and finished them off with a felt ball center, that I adhered a little vintage rhinestone center to.
Of course, they are not very washing machine friendly hot glued.
But, if you have the time, you can easily sew everything on, and then they can survive a delicate or hand wash.
Fun for walk-a-thons and events as such too.
I am giving these away today.
(giveaway has ended, sooory)
Just a little sock fun.
Leave a howdy in comments to enter.
I'll randomly choose and name/number.
(Winner, MARIA!!)
Well, I just popped some garbanzo beans, lemon juice, garlic and salt in my food processor.
With fresh pita in the oven, so I best be off for now.
Hummus calls.
See you soon!!
Got any sock tales?
Ever been caught, when you least wish to be, with toes sticking through sock holes?
Love, V

Lovely Vanessa:
You are the only person in the world that can blog about socks and make it fun and interesting!! 😀
You know something? I’ve never had hummus. Does it sometimes have sesame seeds in it? I think I remember hearing that. My son is terribly allergic to those tiniest of seeds, so I never bring anything into the house with sesame seeds.
Thank you for the sock love! I’m refraining from making any kind of joke that includes the line “sock it to me!” 🖤
xoxo

I agree with Kimberly, you are the only one who can blog about socks and make it GREAT! Warm pita with hummus… mmmmmmmmm
oh, “HOWDY!”
Well, how fun is this? I, too, love socks. The warmer the better. And I have fun socks, as well. I especially love to knit socks…the construction fascinates me so very much. 🙂 The socks you are giving away are just sooo cute. I love the embellishments. Enjoy that fresh hummus…one of my faves. 🙂
Vanessa, how fun! I love the socks you created…so much better than plain black ones. Your hummus and fresh pita sound wonderful, too. Aren’t Sundays the best…my favorite day of the week.
Howdy
Love your sock story. As it happens, I was standing in my studio…leaning against my comfy cozy chair…taking off my socks. And unbeknownst to me the sock fairy swooped in and stole one of my socks right out of my hand. I can’t find it anywhere…I have looked here and there and everywhere ! It’s GONE. This happened day before yesterday and it has become the biggest mystery. I want my sock back…waw, waw, waw.
You are the most fun…however you wouldn’t happen to know where my sock is, would you ?
Oh my goodness, a kindred sock spirit! I love socks and have a silly number of pairs! Your pics are amazing and I super love the pink pom Pom socks so pretty and look oh so snug! Thanks for sharing your sock stories with us! Contented sigh cxx
Cutest socks ever!!! Today is the day I planned to organize my sock drawer…too funny…..I like how tidy your sock drawer(s) is! Coolest collection I have ever seen…hey do you wear leg warmers too? I think they are beyond cool! Have an awesome evening 🙂
Nat
Howdy!!! 🙂
I LOVE socks! I wear my favorite socks in my boots and am soooo happy, even if no one knows but me!
Boy…..with this cold weather we are having right now in AZ…..I COULD CERTAINLY USE A NEW PAIR OF SOCKS…..for these popsicle toes of mine. (O:

One Thanksgiving quite a few years back, we went to my sister-in-law’s house to celebrate the holiday. It’s about six hours away, so we had to get up really, really early to make the drive over on Thanksgiving day. In my sleepy state, I just grabbed the first pair of socks I could find and threw them on. After all we were going to cold, high desert country with a chance of snow so what did I care what my socks looked like, they were going to be safely tucked away in my boots, right? Well, turns out that my husband “forgot” to tell me that his sister had implemented a new “no shoes in the house” policy. So we arrive to be greeted by loads of family, some of whom were in-laws we had never met and I find out the boots must come off. I sheepishly removed my lovely boots to reveal my big toe sticking out of not one, but both, of my socks. I was so embarrassed! Everyone had a good laugh about it and my sister-in-law bought me new socks for my birthday that December….ha! My husband still likes to tease me about my holey Thanksgiving socks. 🙂
I love socks and organized my sock drawer just today! It doesn’t look as good as yours. My shoe broke at work the other day and I took it off so one of the guys could try to glue it, and I had a hole in the toe of my trouser socks. EMBARRASSING
You are just too darling Vanessa and creative beyond anything in this galaxy “-). Socks, who could not love them??!!! Mine are haphazardly tossed in the drawer, but I did find a way to store them non-bulk you might say. I neatly place one inside the other so it looks like I only have, well 1 plus it keeps the top bands from stretching…heehee!!!OOH! Speaking of socks, you must stop by and check out my post. There’s a new Band @ Disney…The Mad Hatter Band and the costumes are to die for, especially Alice’s…here’s a link:
http://gingerbreadcrumbsandcompany.blogspot.com/2013/01/music-color-light-sound.html
how that’s a big link “-O
Oh! When did thou re-paint thy concrete floor?? Me things it looks lovely grey and I’m sure it’s easier to maintain with your furry babies scampering about.
Love to Thee from little ol’ me
Coricakes!! Off to see the band!! Whilst making turtle brownies
for lovee and watching the golden globes, yay!! Oh oh, my room is always
grey – the studio electric blue with a black and white painted rug still, and
the office white. All the same 😉 xoxo

Miss V,
It’s been a while since I visited and I’m so glad to see you’re doing well!! I love socks too, but I have to admit that my sock drawer is a hot mess 🙂
Howdy!! I LOVE socks too!!! My favorites are striped!!
Love Socks too! You’re making me want more. My what a great collection.
Howdy, Vanessa! Great story–about socks! Love the housewarming gift idea for new carpeting.
Ummmm, actually yes, I do have a thing about socks. I wore uniforms for so many years and always had socks with my tennis shoes. Rarely white lots of polka dots, stripes, Christmas and halloween. Always wear socks around the house unless it is summer.
What a great post. Nice to know there is someone else out there who likes socks as much as I do.
(my granddaughter has inherited the sock thing-her fave pair knee socks with mustaches all over them or deliberately mismatched pairs).
Oh, Miss Vanessa! I am a
sock-aholic myself! Love
having drawers full of them!
My son never let me forget
a pair of socks I stole from
him! (They felt so good!) I
have been guilty of wearing
socks with holes:( If the
are still cute I hate to get
rid of them! Thanks for the
give away! Twyla
These are such fun! We don’t wear shoes inside our house…it sure makes a difference! My daughter in law knits socks…those are my favs!
How fun! I love how you can make the most simple things so magical!! you have a gift my dear. I so enjoy you and your Fanciful Life.
Keep up the wonderful everything.
Wende
From one sock lover to another–you’ve got a much funner sock drawer than I do.
I love your sock post but even more I love your sock drawer!
Reminds me of when I once worked for a church. We had a sock shower for the minister and his family (the reason escapes me now). Sometime later I saw him drive into the parking lot on his motorcycle, he was over 6 ft. tall. He looked very handsome and dapper in his black pants, sports jacket, minister’s collar and motorcycle helmet. And peeeking out over his shiny black shoes was red Mickey Mouse socks!! I loved it!
love your sock collection…my sock drawer is a mess and i am known for often wearing odd socks x
Socks are the greatest, especially yours. I love wearing different socks on each foot. It makes for good conversation…I work in a pre school and the kids love it when I wear different socks that don’t even match. I love how your sock drawer is so very organized…so very good. Socks are so much fun. I use to have toe socks, they were hard to wear but oh so much fun.
You have such a wondrous collection.
I loved this post and your sock collection, Vanessa. I know those socks are coming in handy with your current cold snap. thanks for the delightful post and for letting us peek inside your sock drawer! <3
Really cute! 😀
Cute Vanessa…..I’m in awe of your organization skills! I bought my daughter tonnnnnns of socks & now I should transfer that to me….your Mom’s devil/angel socks are steal worthy Loving that pewter tray w/little things on it….and what is the paper the socks are sitting on? looks like seed pods.
Guess what my fave is? Those silver polka dot tights…..LOVE!
I remember being in 6th grade, just coming into my own as far as style went. Neon was all the rage and I wore 2 different neon socks to go with my funky outfit. I was laughed at and teased for “not being able to find a matching sock in the dryer”….
I think my individuality died a little that day….the start of letting other people dictate what was okay for me….
Funny that it’s cool for the kids to dress like this now….haha!
Vanessa, What fun that sock party must have been!!!! I too adore socks..fancy smanshy socks..thigh high socks, they are sweet but any fancy sock will do!!!
xoxo,
Dena
Howdy dear Vanessa, I love the socks and yes you are the one that makes a sock post fun!
I love your blog.
xoxoxo Lien.
Hi Vanessa,I usually resent socks being that I live in a cold climate but yours shed awhole different light on what I refer to as “foot binders”!
Love visiting this place and thanks for the giveaway.
Lorelei 🙂
Late comment – but i LOVE socks! Here is Maine, I especially love them from fall through our chilly springs. I love coming home from work and changing into my comfy clothes and fluffy or fuzzy socks! Love socks!
Love your socks. Here you live in climate where you don’t need to wear socks often and you have this wonderful array. I live where I need to wear socks and I resist as long as possible putting them on in the Fall. Right now I have some stripy socks with red hearts on them.
ps: Looove the stripey red hearts, I need some ;)))

I love your socks and especially your leggings/tights! My favorite pair of my socks are my rainbow striped thigh highs :D!!! They were originally bought for a halloweeen costume but I love them for just being around the house! The other day I saw somewhere online these magical leggings that looked like shiny teal mermaid scales haha! Love your sock post, how fun!!!
Good post..Zellmeonline
