Please come in and visit, as Santa is down to the wire preparing for Sunday’s deliveries.

Santa's Workshop miniature dollhouse diorama 9

If you have been here since the early days, you might recall my little Christmas diorama.

It housed a scene of Christmas festivities and little dolls I had made.

It normally sits on a shelf in the tiny cottage at the country house.

This year, I woke up one morning and decided I wanted to turn it into Santa’s workshop.

And so, I set out to gather all sorts of little things I have collected over the years to create a miniature fantasy land.

Let’s go in, shall we?

It looks like someone is incredibly busy.

Mind if we stop in for a quick hot chocolate, Santa?

Of course, he doesn’t mind at all.

He’s too busy to even notice us.

I loved every second of setting up this little miniature workshop.

I filled shelves and counters with all manner of teensy little toys and treats.

The hunt through all my miniatures was great fun.

I loved figuring out what would work, which is more than half the excitement.

Nutcrackers, trains, tiny peppermints, teddy bears, cats, rocking horses, dolls and more.

I even found pencil eraser sized toys for the work bench shelves.

Elves with parcels and tiny gifts are just the thing.

I’m especially fond of the tiny wooden toys that are hand painted.

So many nooks and crannies filled with things to see.

I even set up a Christmas tree.

This project has tickled my soul to pieces, I tell ya.

Another gift for little Vanessa checked off this list.

My childhood self really came out in full force this holiday season.

For some reason I am particularly in love with the Jack-in-the-box.

Can you find it in the image below?

Well, looks like Santa has had enough of us snooping around.

He’s super busy and simply cannot be distracted right now.

Do you see any of the items on your list in his workshop?

But more importantly…

Have you been naughty or nice this year?

🙂

This little diorama makes me happy all day long.

I am drawn into it every time I walk by.

I hope you enjoyed peeking in.

I would chat to you longer, except that I am having a whopper of an allergy attack today.

The nostalgia of Christmas has captured my heart so deeply this year.

I am enjoying every morsel of the season.

These little projects really help to slow down time and savor these December days.

You’ll have to let me know if you spot a favorite item in the workshop.

I can’t wait to hear.

I must be on my way for now, but I do have a couple more treats to share with you this week.

Stay tuned for more Christmasy blog posts to come.

Hope you are well in your neck of the woods.

See you soon!

Lots of Love,

Vanessa

I think my favorite thing is spotting candy. I love the candy canes on the tree and the little jars of candy. But really everything was just wonderful.
