Random This and Thats…

Ah, the random everyday photos that go unnoticed are calling.

I thought today would be a perfect day to share some summer snippets, everyday shots that I normally wouldn't post.  Just bits and pieces of our little world.

Like, very soft fur on a Wednesday.

Everyday Summer 1

Or, the three giant mesquite trees that help keep the veggie garden from withering totally when the west sun hits mid-afternoon…

Everyday Summer 11

Or, a special spot under that very huge tree above, to hang from…

With everything lit by sunset pink skies.

Everyday Summer 14

Delicious cotton candy clouds fluff about…

Everyday Summer 3

As boys get ready to wrestle…

Everyday Summer 6

They play soooo much, and so hard.

Playtime is serious business around here.

Oh and, what about a corridor of pumpkin patch meets sunflowers and corn?

Oh pumpkin patch.

Fills up my summertime heart…

Everyday Summer 5

Homemade apple pie, on the 4th of July.

Which I made with those wee apples off a local tree I shared the other day..

Everyday Summer 19

Served up warm and creamy..

Everyday Summer 20

Pumpkin babies popping up here and there.

I love these sort of surprises.

Stuffed itself into a safe nook it seems…

Everyday Summer 8

Mr. Matty.

A rare chance photo op.

Everyday Summer 12

And, another surprise…

Everyday Summer 21

Jack and the bean stalk calling…

Or, sunflower stalk, in this case.

Everyday Summer 2

Drum rolllll!!

Below…

First rain at our pad, since February.

Yes, I joke not.

Oh rain!!!

Monsoon season is here!

Hope we get more.

The boys run and run and run in it, until they are soaked.

Then they get dry, and run out again.

While momma washes and dries towels like a towel cleaning service.

🙂

That's love.

Everyday Summer 18

Rain scents guide his way…

Everyday Summer 17

Basil collecting.

Everyday Summer 4

Then…

Pesto makings.

Also, making extra pesto to freeze, as it is a gift to ourselves during winter times.

Everyday Summer 10

Strawberries meet bush beans…

Everyday Summer 7

Boys keep cool in the dahlias, while waiting to go inside and relax on cold concrete.

Everyday Summer 13

Me, running out every night, into the vegetable garden to collect dinner makings.

Garden eats

Then –

A curious orange Halloween glow surrounds the full moon…

Everyday Summer 15

We are –

Still tending garden ever single morning in crazy Arizona heat and sun.

Every single day.

Worth it, totally.

Exhausting? Yes.

Would do it again?

Why, yes.

Everyday Summer 16

Indoors…

Cozy afternoon, reading magazines and making friendship bracelets in my room, while sitting on my bed. (flowers, cut from the garden)

Whilst also watching a thriller or a documentary as the air-Kanchenjunga and fans buzz around.

(What is an air-Kanchenjunga you ask?  Well, I sort of misspelled air-conditioning, and auto-correct changed the misspelled word "conditioining" to Kanchenjunga.  So there you have it, haha!  If you really want to know what Kanchenjunga means, here you go.  Googled.)

Pretty Flowers 1

Then, a gift –

Cinderella skies, adorned with…

Crescent moon and bird flight.

Everyday Summer 9

There we have it.

Random bits of summertime….

Sigh.

If you have any random summer bits, or photo sharing on your blog you'd like to share, link up in comments, for any of us to visit.

Fun fun!

Wellssss ~

Back to painting a sofa (fabric), and an end-table in the cottage I go…

Loooove, Vanessa

Sparkly heart

Yes, the 4th of July break in the weather/monsoon season starter was welcomed up here in the Valley of the Sun by Callie Delicious who has taken to prancing through the sprinklers and thought the rain was more of the same. -lol- Totally soaked silly fur baby.

    Random thoughts:
-I like how your hammock looks like a big doily.
-I think it’s funny how mequite trees have those big funny French green bean thingies hanging off of them.
-Oh, how I miss the days of running out to the garden to see what could be nabbed. I can almost TASTE that basil! How healthy your insides must be.
-I was just wondering what the heck air-Kachenjunga meant…thanks for sharing
-Oh!!!! I bought 2 chairs for painting, too. I found a tutorial where the lady painted the wood white and the fabric turquoise. They looked great! (I’ll try to find the link for you). I’m worried mine are going to be too stiff. Let me know if you like the way they feel if you have time. I think I’ll leave the wood dark and paint the upholstery a pale dove grey. Or white. I paint everything white. Look at me get out of my rut—by painting it just slightly darker than white.
-P.S. Violet LOVES to shuck corn.

Here’s the link to the painted chair tutorial. Those are the instructions I’m going to follow, but I’m not painting the wood.

Wonderous post Miss Vanessa..so calm and peaceful.
Here in Grand Raapids, Michigan the temperature reached an all time high
    104 with a heat index of 112.

  8. Jill says:

Thanks for filling my eyes with beauty!

  9. Having the Fourth of July in the middle of the week was crazy! In San Diego ALL of the fireworks went off all at once on four different barges. Total Craziness! You Tube has a lot of videos of the event.
I made two batches of apricot jam today…should have made more but life was too busy.
My sister gets to drive out from Massachusetts with her triplets and oldest son in about a week and a half, just in time for two birthdays’ in our family, and of course that means the double birthday party will be at Laurelwood. Yay!!!
I loved your random photos very sentimental and serendipitious!

  10. Great random shots, Vanessa! Your garden is looking so beautiful. I almost feel like we live in Arizona, with our temps hitting triple digits in recent days and not being below 95 for over a week. We could use some of that rain, too!

  11. Retta says:

I am so happy that I found your blog! I’m also glad that your earlier “reaction” to whatever, is in the past. I’ve posted an entry at my blog so that everyone can have a peek into my life at this moment.

  12. Chris says:

  22. Renee says:

    Love the pics.
Saw your article in Somerset. Good article:)

  23. Jenn says:

The way you describe things… life… bliss 🙂 Soft fur is love. I got my fair share of fur baby friendship this weekend myself. And regular baby, as a family friend brought their two month old over. Sigh… lovely soft baby bliss.
Cinderella skies, my my you do have a way of saying things Miss V. And the pastry leaf on your pie, makes me feel as though I’ve stepped into Willa’s world. I suppose I really have. I think it’s so sweet that her pie and your real pie look like twins of different sizes.

  24. Oh what lovely tid-bits Vanessa! That rain, oh I’ll bet your boys were refreshed after no rain since February. My latest blog post shows a little tid-bit from our summer (this past weekend) during a camping trip. Cabin camping I should rephrase…it got up to 105 on Saturday, ugh…so hot. We ended up taking a drive to a waterpark because it was just too hot to sit around and the campground pool was like 90 degrees!!
