Are there really people out there on the other side of the screen? Mama told me there were a bevy of delightful folks on the other side of this screen. How amazing!!!
My name is Baby. Mama calls me Baby Monkey, but I never ever saw a monkey in my whole entire life. Mama said she showed you a picture of me before 🙂
Mama said that when Pappy was out of town, she would throw me a tea party and have a special girl day. We don't know my birthday cuz, well, I don't know if you knew this but… Well, I am adopted.
I was adopted at a yard sale over 6 years ago, when I was a little kid. I know it's hard to believe I am adopted, cuz, I look a lot like Mama. But, that means we don't know my real birthday, so I don't get parties very often. But Mama said that was all gonna change…
Mama said, that for the party, you are all invited, and I get to wear her giant vintage ribbon.
As long as I don't roll around or get wet. I don't know how I am ever going to not do those things…
Grandmammie gave Mama a really cool book for her birthday. That book is so cool, you have to see it. It has really fun ideas, for when you want to make puppycakes.
Umm, are there any other furry friends out there reading this? I sure hope so 😉
Anyhow, Mama was baking and baking. She made a huge mess, and Pappy is coming home today. But that's okay cuz, he likes puppycakes a lot. And, we saved him some.
Mama said, I had to wait for you all to get here before I could eat any treats. I am having a real hard time controlling myself. I can hardly focus on anything else…
Mama said it wasn't very lady like to be begging, or eating crumbs on the floor. No sniffing fannies, or scratching ears today.
But, I just couldn't help myself…
I just had to sniff around or my tail was going to wag right off.
Mama was really nice, and didn't scold me at all. She just kept saying things in high pitched tones, so I knew she wasn't cross with me at all.
She set the table. I hope you enjoy it.
It looks realy perty, and I have my own doggy treats with peanut butter.
There are all sorts of things mama made from scratch for you. Like puppycakes with sour cream frosting and cherries. (don't worry, I won't be eating any of that, just my special treats)
Mama said you would think these cakes were yummy…
Mama made a heart cake with a special pan she got a few years ago at Willies Somoa or something like that.
My favorite part of the whole party is playing patty-cake.
It is really hot here. We don't know what happened to the weather. I still have all my winter fur on, so Mama has been filling both of my pools and sitting to watch me do my underwater tricks, while she stays refreshed with giant strawberries.
It was 92' F yesterday, and I almost fainted. Today it is going to be 94' (it actually only reached 82' – thank goodness) I think we are having a heat wave… Which is so weird, because it still might snow in March.
Mama has to go to the post office. But she is leaving me here with my favorite gifts…
And, I thought, since I love to read so much… Maybe you do too?
So, as a party favor, Mama said it would be lovely to have a giveaway for a gift card to Amazon.Com for $25. So, one of you nice humans, could order a lovely book or music or even a DVD. There are all sorts of things you can get at Amazon. I bet you already knew that ;)
Mama said that if you leave a comment, Pappy will draw a name from a hat for the gift card, in a few days.

Puppy parties! I have a couple of pomeranians, and every year on their birthday, we have them wear hats and give them Frosty Paws (those little ice cream cups that’re dog-safe). If we’re lucky, we even get together with all the other puppies from their litter!

Aahhh! You are too cute and Baby Monkey is darling! I love her in her vintage bow and hopefully she behaves better than my Coco Noel when she’s all dressed in her party frock…really it’s a big pink flower in her hair that makes her look like a Tribal Belly dancer, puppie style…very chic and sassy all at the same time :). Puppie parties are the BEST! But, I once had a sweet little bunny named Poppet who held a tea every year in honor of his birthday. Bunnies being the proper little creatures that they are would settle for nothing less than a proper tea.
Baby’s peanut butter treats look simply divine and thank you, I will have one of those lovely pupcakes…two cherries please, and do you have some ice cold lemonade!

Awe I love when people do post’s from their pets’ point of view, it makes them extra special! You are such a lovely ladylike doggie, Miss Baby Monkey! I wish my silly old pup (well he’s actually 9, which is way too old in dog years) was here at school with me instead of home with my parents! But I got to see him last week, so I was happy, we slept in every day, such a nice break from school! Looks like you guys had a pretty awesome party, and everything looked delicious!

Hey, I am a special adopted baby, too. I was adopted outside of a store called Wallymart. Mom and dad said I looked like a little miniature hound dog. I guess I am pretty darn cute, with my floppy brown ears and the three big brown spots on my back. My mom and dad celebrate my birthday in March. I hear them whisper that I’m gonna be an old girl of 14. I may be getting old, but I still love to chase the birds out of the yard.

Like Baby, my sweet girl is adopted and we gave her a really tough doggy name too – Pumpkin – though I mostly call her Punkie! It works well since we think she might have been born in October.

My name is Puffin, you don’t know me, but your mama and my mum are good pals. I am in mum’s room (the one where she keeps all the sewing pins and bits of fabric and papers and strings that I like to try to eat….but she won’t let me). My best friend in the whole wide world is Marmee….the white and fluffy one (me, I’m black and shiny and rather round….but I don’t mind, it makes me look cute…..or so they say!)

Happy Birthday Baby! I’m so glad you don’t have to experience the hideous 125 degree weather here, especially in summer. Right now it’s pleasant, but not pleasant enough for walking, which is my favourite pastime. The beautiful flowers look wonderful in the sunshine though, and seeing them makes me feel springy – through the window of an air conditioned room!
Happy birthday to you, Baby! I’m so proud of you for being getting to be such a big girl! And you have such good manners. And don’t worry about the adopted thing, all three of us were adopted too. They’re both “blondies” and so she feels they have “A lot in common”, and even though Doja’s only 9 lbs, she thinks size doesn’t matter, it’s what’s in the heart that counts. I had my very first puppy party on Valentine’s day, my posh name is Joncroft Cupid you know! I too had tastey treats and lots of fun with the humans, extra games and they even invited my chums to the park for a huge play! They weren’t far wrong when they said, it’s a dogs life!

…and now my daughter wants a dog, because as she was imagining a kitty party for our cat, Anni, she realized that the photographed “events” would run along the lines of: “Here’s my birthday snooze,” “Watch me stretch and snooze some more,” “Why yes, I’m ignoring you, it’s in my job description,” and “hey, who wants to play catch the hairball?”
Our kitty’s party would have to be a cat nap. Your puppy is “way cooler” according to Dear Daughter.

You look mahvelous here. I am very proud of you for not sniffing any butts during this post, but I’m telling you, if Scout was at the party, she’d be sniffing your butt. It’s true! And she loves to play pattycake, too. With real cake! Like these fabulously beautiful ones your Mama made. She is the best mom, ever. Except Scout thinks I’m the best mom, ever, but that’s what she’s supposed to think.
I’m sorry it’s so hot! If you were here you could swim in my pool! Scout would just watch from the side. Unless you took her ball, then she would growl at you. It’s her term of endearment.

I gave both of my adopted cats birthdays. I adopted one of the cats when she was only about a month old so I knew approximately when she was born. The other one, I just made up. I’m not even sure what year he was born.

When I was little my grandparents had a dog that looked just like you. She was called Kara, and was the sweetest dog ever. She allowed me to sit in the basket with her puppies (which were all totally black like their father), and even let the cat in the house eat from her bowl while she herself were eating from it. I still miss her even though she died many years ago when I was still a little girl.

Oh my how very sweet! There are such lovely goings on over in your neck of the woods…and a pup party is just perfect for this time of year. Ms. Meena (that’s my kitty, in case your mama didn’t tell you) is sitting over my shoulder, and she is wanting to either jump in the car (I would drive though because her feet don’t quite reach the pedals) and come down to eat all those treats with you…either that or we need to make our own. Since I have to work tomorrow…I will probably just have to make our own, but I wanted to let you know that we were over here celebrating along with you!
