Printable Halloween Treats

On a day where summer is trying to morph into fall, and dispositions strive to be jovial at all cost, there is only one thing a person can do…

BAKE CUPCAKES!  Of course, there is something in it for you, for being super wonderfully kind.

Halloween Cupcakes 2

I made these fun lil' cupcake toppers for you.  Although, you can use them for anything at all.  You can even wear the mustache if you so wish 😉

Halloween Cupcakes 6

All you have to do is download, print, and cut.  Tape them from behind to toothpicks or popsicle sticks, then slide them right into your cupcakes…

A Fanciful Twist Halloween 2009

I printed mine out on thick card stock.  I was thinking about all the different kinds of things you could do with these Halloween cutouts as I was cutting…

Halloween Cupcakes 3

From gluing them onto homemade (or store bought for that matter) trick or treating bags, to using them as gift tags or window decals.  I think you will be able to find many uses for them…

Halloween Cupcakes 4

I think I need to make oodles of these wicked little treats 😉

Halloween Cupcakes 7

I love when the pumpkin time of the year rolls around.  Last night it was so cool here, it was unbelievable.  Pumpkin love abound…

Halloween Cupcakes 8

The mornings are chillier, which I love because it inspires me to start cooking again.  We rarely turn on the stove in summer, which I miss.  Baking and creating culinary art is one of my greatest joys..

Cool mornings, hot coffee and crisp lovely potato latkes…

Potato latke love 1

For my potato latkes I grate one large potato using my cheese grater.  After I have grated the entire potato, I squeeze all of the water out of the potato pieces.  I then pop the grated potato into a bowl, adding two eggs and salt.  (Have hot olive oil heating in a pan on the stove)

Take a standard patty size of the mixture in your hands, and carefully drop/slide it into your hot olive oil.  Let the latkes get golden brown and crispy on both sides.  Pop them on a plate lined with a paper towel before you serve them.  Then, serve with sour cream and jam, or ketchup and basil (one of my fave ways to have them).

Tip: You will have unused egg mixture left over in your bowl, which you shouldn't worry about…

One potato makes 4 latkes, so you might want to use two potatoes.

Yummy yumm…

So, that's my tale for today.  I feel much better than yesterday.  I am not hanging on to any feelings from yesterday.  I learned a ton from the whole fiasco.  I am still a little noodly, but that will pass soon, I am sure…

Your words and support made a world of difference to me.  Thank you ever so much.  Truly…

Now, let's go bake some cupcakes ;)

See you super soon!!

🖤,V

ps:  I used my method for making paper flowers, which I shared with you in this tutorial, to make the black pointy doily underneath my cupcakes (above).  Oh and, I used black tissue paper…

pss:  My lovely friend Rhonda Roo is holding a peace party on her blog on the 21st.  Yes, a peace party is just what the soul needs!!  YAY!  See details here…

  3. Vanessa:
I must tell you that I so admire your positive outlook. “Spunk” as my daddy use to say! Everyone’s entitled to a day of heartfelt whining when someone steals a treasured sign. But you, you’re making cupcakes the very next day. I heartfully admire that gusto of yours.
I’m finding myself to be a bit more positive these days. I’ve finally found my way back to the studio after my mom passed away in June. I’m kind of starting over. I’m even getting a short “pixie” hair cut tomorrow. I feel almost giddy.
Of course, with the Autumn season looming about and the local grocery store’s offerings of Jack-O-Lantern pumpkins and gourds, how can you NOT be giddy?
I will still keep my eyes open for your sign at all the local Los Angeles Antique/Flea Markets.
Thanks for always teaching me some little something.

  4. Julie Marie says:

  5. Suzanne Lesko says:

Well, aren’t you just such a sweetheart!!! Some slimeball weasels his way into your life and trust, violates that trust to the max and here you are GIVING away super pumpkin happiness to the world! I love it. Going to the police was a must. We have to make others aware of these creeps. But your karma is way perfect and his will crush him. Man, that sounds pretty harsh but your home is a haven, a sanctuary… So glad you’re feeling better. I know this may sound trite but time does heal all. And you’re off to a great start. Bless you, little girl, for all of the beauty and happiness that you give to this world. Please hug your puppy for me. Gosh, I’m sooooo glad that she didn’t really get caught up in his evil doings. And while you’re at it, you might as well give that other mop of curly-qs (Mr. Lovey)a squeeze too! Suzanne

  6. Debbie Addie says:

    Thank you sweet girl….

  7. Dear Vanessa,
I didn’t get to read your blog for a few days and have just seen your post from yesterday. I am so, so sorry and do hope you will find your sign soon and regain your sense of comfort. But look at what you have done today! You lost something of great value to you and you have turned right around and given your readers lovely things to print for Halloween and also a yummy-sounding recipe, not to mention your usual gift of sunshine that each of us gets when we read your blog! You are such a wonder!
I have had some family issues to deal with lately and hadn’t had a chance to add my name to your Halloween party list, but I would LOVE to participate! I hope it is not too late! I will post a comment on that post to make it official.

    Wishing you a beautiful evening,
    Betty

I would rather bake than cook, and any new creative way to make cupcakes is always welcome. I need to learn how to create PDF files, I am always having people download from flickr, it would be easier if I could create PDF’s.

Oh Dear One….you are such a wonderful soul to be thinking about giving after what you just recently had taken from you. I hope they find this man, warsh his mouth out with lye soap and make him drink pickle juice until he tosses his cookies. That is mild to what I actually had in mind but I am trying to be a lady 🙂
Love to you and Mr. Lovee sweet one,
    LuLu~*
P.S. Add me to the Halloween list of participants please. I almost forgot since I have been swamped with orders going out!

How cute! And I love that you’re in the Halloween spirit already! We have an old milling village here in Utah whose authentic milling homes have been converted into little crafty (and antique) shops and a bakery. Every Halloween (month of October) they pull out their (manequin) witches and encourage the little ones to come dressed as well. We always look forward to a day with the witches! You would love it!

Love to hear from you soon.
    Regards, Heidi
