Hi there friends!
The seasons are shifting it seems.
I can feel it in the air.
Spring brought us these beautiful blooms.
And in an amazing act of nature…
They turn into fruit.
Peach heaven.
Time to pick my peaches!
Never ever ever ceases to amaze me.
The way that works.
Bloom to fruit magic.
Garden magic for certain.
Incredible things happen everyday.
I had a handful of pics to share of june bugs covering our peaches.
Leaving them hanging bare with slimey pits and dripping guts.
But then I thought, why Vanessa why?
Just forget those.
Spare your friends the nashtieness.
And so I bring you the bunch that survived.
Not an easy task, covering them and checking them one by one for weeks.
Giant agave can't even protect them.
So with our peach treasures we had trays of…
Buttery brown sugar turned to toffee crunch topping peach crisp.
The best peach crisp to date.
Which is hard to believe since it's pretty darned good every year.
I never measure.
I just go, one handful brown sugar, two handfuls oats, one stick butter, etc. etc.
The alchemy was just perfect this peach season for some reason.
Gorgeous things, aren't they?
I wasn't a huge peach lover until I had my own, from this very old rickety tree that was waiting for me, on this curious plot of earth.
A few roses are turning up more and more as the nights really cool down up here.
Oh summer.
You torturous wonderful thing in the land of heat and sun.
Sluuurrrpppping peaches in the garden.
Swinging from the garden swing.
Under a peach sunset.
Simple living.
Simply wonderful.
How are you out there in the world?
I know I always say I'm busy, but darn, I really am.
My days just pass like nothing.
Blink, it's another day.
I wake up early, go hiking, tend garden and then my day starts to spiral away.
It was a very eventful week with car issues and internet issues that all ended great.
There was some stellar shopping and good decaf latte's.
I've also been designing new treasures for the shop.
Can you tell the weather is starting to change a little?
I know I know, I'm obsessed with the weather.
You tend to act like that when you live inside of a burning coal 🙂
I sure can tell though, I know I said that already, but it's so exciting!
It's all just PEACHY!!
😉
xoxo
ps:
Miley's buzzed forehead is growing back.
So, he decided to model with his kitschy crazy cat painting.
Which is bigger in person than it appears, since he is closer to the camera and looks bigger.
Thanks for all the painting laughs!
I knew we were all still kindred.
And for those who wondered…
Yes the painting is signed, Hemmings.
Interesting that someone threw it out onto the street.
And then went through all these channels to finally arrive in my hands.
Poor thing, it cleaned up well and is currently roaming from place to place in my house, haha!
Where in the heck am I gonna put this thing??!!
Haaaa!
Beware of what you wish for.
Will any of my crazy finds ever turn out to be some rare thing worth billions?!
🙂
Have you ever seen that movie/docu, Who the Bleep is Jackson Pollock?
I saw it a long time ago and loved it.

Look at those fabulous peaches V! Always glad to see a post from you! Hubby loves peaches… i like them too but i don’t like how messy you get eating them…lol I notice the change in the air too… the angle of the light is changing ever so slightly.. Hubby says its wishful thinking… well maybe if enough of us wish for it…lol I’ve had enough heat and humidity…I’m ready for a change… Hubby is recovering from shoulder surgery from about 7 weeks ago… what a painful painful frustrating thing to recover from.. wow… but his pain is much less now and we seem to be coming up for air..You sound good V and happy and its always nice to hear that…. sending you Fall wishes… Hugs! deb
What a beautiful beautiful post — peaches and roses! Oh summer indeed!
Growing up My family had a huge plum tree in Our backyard.I have such fond memories of slurping up those juicy plums. My siblings and I would pick them any time while out there. We would have to bend over to eat them to let the juice fall on the grass.Your gorgeous peaches reminded Me of them. There’s just nothing like friut eaten from the backyard.I have been day dreaming of Fall, I feel it coming…..in My imagination.Blessings to You a Your sweetheart-Denise
Now those peaches have me drooling. I had abundant plums and made all sorts of crumbles and crunches. Wishing I had peaches now too.
Oh lovelovelove all of it. Beautiful life.
**blows kisses**

Even the sky was thinking of peach…
Vanessa, how I would love to have a peach tree! Peaches(and other fruits) are about the only thing I like about summer. I just posted another peach recipe last week and will be posting another one on Thursday. You might say, I’m all peaches all the time!
There is nothing better than peaches fresh from the tree! Unfortunately we’ve had some weird weather here in Colorado the last few years that have killed so many trees. We lost our Apricot and peach trees among others.
Your peaches are just beautiful.
Thank you for sharing your lovely garden pictures.
Take Care,
Tracy M.
Last week the white peaches from California arrived and they were amazing…dripping down my fingers juicy and sweet. I bought a bag full of them and want more, not only to eat, but to make Bellini’s with. ‘;^)
My life right now consists of planning for a Savannah vacation with my Madre. Also, I’m in Halloween prep: visiting stores for all of the Sp0oKy goodies and planning costumes for various events. You know me, always wearing a costume and trying to cosplay some character or another. I love that.
Such a beautiful harvest of peaches Vanessa!!! Makes me wish these beauties were on my counter waiting for me to grab one and devour it! I am glad you spared us the
the June bug feast! Yikes! LoL! 🙂
Miles truly belongs in your amazing purchased large painting! I am sure you will find a very creative spot to keep it!
My girls are both away now, one at ASU and the other at NAU! It’s awful quiet here and an adjustment for me and the dogs! I am looking forward to cooler days and the change of the seasons to decorate for fall and Halloween! I do sense the winds of change creeping through this week! Be Well V! <3~<3~<3
I love-love-love your humongous painting, it is so darn cute. I would suggest that it you can’t use it in its present size– to find some charming frames and then cut pieces of the large painting to fit the smaller frames. I can easily see six different paintings out of that ONE…depending on how you cut it. Just a suggestion 🙂
big hugs,
Cheryl
June bugs are quite gross, aren’t they? So funny, you asking yourself, “why Vanessa why?” Hehehe…I probably would be the one to post a pic like that. I can’t eat peaches. Actually all stone fruits make me quite sick, unfortunately. But, how neat to grow your own peaches. My husband would love a peach tree, but I’m thinking it wouldn’t do well with lack of rain and those ginormous fruit beetles! I talk about the weather ALL of the time. Mainly about the lack of rain, you know that! 😉 Glad to hear Miley is on the mend…sweet and special boy! xoxo Can’t wait to see what you’re creating!
The peaches are great. We buy them from a local farmer. The last basket we got from him was so full of yummy peaches.
We have those terrible Japanese beetles here that destroy plants. I think the heat finally got to them.
Sweet doggie picture.
I am a weem behind on my blog reading and missed those beautiful peaches until today! I love juicy, drippy sweet peaches!
