Party Inspiration.

Sometimes, the simplest thing, is the most perfectly pretty thing.

Pastry inspiration 5

And also, the most perfect thing to inspire the last few days of Mad Tea Party planning.

Pastry inspiration 2

A pink frosted doughnut with sprinkles.

I saw this little sweetheart in a pastry case, and had to bring it home.

Pastry inspiration 3

I think that folks were looking at me funny.

I mean, how could one girl be so delighted about such a silly thing?

If only they knew, that you and I are getting ready for some fun!

And that,

pink frosting and cakey delights

are just what we need to keep the party excitement

a'swirl!

Can you believe the madness is mere days away?

We have been working like crazy here, to clean up our act and get a party together 😉

FUN FUN!!!

Pastry inspiration 1

Okay, must get back to preparing for the festivities in 108'F weather, with earth that has had no rain in endless months. (42.2'C)

If anyone complains it is cold where they are, I will send a witch to pull their toes at night.

It is so hot here, I feel like I am in one of those dreams, where I am trying to walk fast, but the ground has turned to marshmallow, and each step is like moving around in space.

Hot.

Hot.

Hot.

I love this little record player video found on YouTube.

See you super sooooon!

A sparkly heart

ps:  If you don't see your name on the Mad Tea Party list in my left hand sidebar, and you signed up, please contact me via e-mail with your link.  I will add you right away.

  1. Oh Vanessa, I haven’t had a donut in sooo long (even when my girls eat them, oh it kills me…but I’m being so good with my sweets intake 😉 😉 That one though…I might have had to bring it home too. Oh I have not even begun thinking what I’ll post. I mean I HAVE been thinking, but haven’t actually moved my booty to get anything together, tee hee. Don’t you worry though…I wouldn’t miss it, I’ll think of something 😉 Hugs, see you sooooon dearest,
    Jamie 🙂

  2. DogsMom says:

Oh the ideas are swirling in my head just like your 45 rpm record there. What will I actually post?? It will surprise us all.
While you are having record breaking heat we have had the rains begin and continue and all things wild are overgrowing any thing domestic here.

  3. Jenny Mulvey says:

our hig today in Littleton, Colorado is 65 degrees and we got six inches of snow in the mountain throughout the night. How different our worlds are and not that far away from each other. We have swirling gray blue and gray green clouds. They are filled with a thousand everchanging pictures. It is a soup and tea day. I pulled my grandmother’s afaghan back out of the closet to snuggle under while I read a book. Tomorrow summer solstice brings back our warmer temperatures, but today you will not hear any complaints about the cold from me.

  4. Linda Diane says:

Oh, please send a pink donut delish my way. Just send it in an envelope. It will be OK. Just do it quick. I don’t even care if it is squished-ulated. Its flavorful essence will still be intact and I shall savor it. Ah yes!
Oh the temps are hot here, too. I melt in the car on the way to destinations whilst waiting for the air conditioner to finally kick in.
I am madly anticipatory of the madness to come this Saturday!
Thank you for this lovely post. I needed it today.

  5. Laura says:

I LOVE that song! I am such a Cure fan. I had a big The Cure sticker on the back of my car in high school. The other side had a Depeche Mode sticker.
    Yummy doughnut!

  6. Go ahead, pull my toes! I don’t want to be walking around wearing two layers of clothes and then a warm jacket this time of year :'(
We should be able to SHARE, don’t ya think?! 😀

  7. Erin says:

  21. Betty says:

    Hello Dear Vanessa!
It’s funny how the simplest things can inspire us, isn’t it? I find myself inspired by the little firefly who got in and lit up the studio all night a few nights ago! Luckily, I found him the next night and let him outside again! But my party will have his little footprints all over it, even in absentia!
Oh, how I wish we could have just a bit more of each other’s weather! It’s currently only 61 and rainy here. I would be happy to send some our rain your way!
Can’t wait to see what you have planned for your party!
    Hugs to you,
    Betty

  22. Vanessa –
can you please send someone to pull toes over on Etsy? Did you see the MASSIVE new changes that have been made which have made sales drop enormously for so many of us for 2 months now? 🙁 🙁

  23. …if you start to lose international customers, you’ll know why 🙁
Etsy gone local – and mad. And they forgot to tell anyone.

  24. I love that song! That looks so YuMMy!

  25. Theresa says:

Can you believe I don’t eat donuts any more? LOL Haven’t had one in years! Although I do buy them for my hubby. I am truly a cupcake kind of girl. 🙂 Love the pink frosting and the sprinkles…so festive indeed! 🙂 And a record player??? My oh my…those were the days! And this playing one of my favorite bands, too! xoxo Theresa

  26. Kelly says:
