On this Lovely Little Day…

Mister Lovee is always such an amazing puppy papa, that I have been extra prompted, to be on super nice behaviour.  At least, I think I have.  You see, to add to his furry child goodness, he has been on all night puppy duty for a couple of days.  He goes out of his way to make sure that I get a full night's sleep.  So in thanks, I have been on my toes being the morning  juice squeezer, coffee maker, baker girl  :)

Oatmeal, raisin, almond and pecan cookies, right out of the oven.

Served up warm.

After I knew that Mister Lovee was enjoying his morning treats, I had a plan.

It was time for Sir Matty and I to teach Miles how to play "Jane Austen Lives."  My invented version of Jane Austen times, come to life ;)  (you may remember Matty playing here)

Puppers 1

Let me preface these photos by sharing a bit of Miles' personality.

He is independent.

 Fearless.

Tough.

Rambunctious.

Demands his freedom.

Yet, cuddly too.

And oh so lovable.

He is funny, and spunky, and interested in everything.

If he hears music, he runs towards the sound, and sits and listens in awe.

Puppers 2

As for his role in Jane Austen lives.

Puppers 3

He is more interested in say….

Puppers 4

A role as a…

Puppers 5

Tough and…

Puppers 6

Fearless wrestler.

(complete with lots of growls and grrrrr's that make us giggle)

Puppers 7]

And so, I wonder…

Was there wrestling in Jane Austen's time?

We could invent a role for him.

Must ponder this…

Oh, btw, here you go.

Some for you 😉

Well, I suppose it's back to my wee project of fun.

Which first entails me organizing the mass amounts of stuff and junk that I own.

Yikes!

Does putting away holiday decor always lead to other organizational projects?

I wonder?

A Sparkly Heart see you soon

ps:  Our lives are pure fur these days, hence the extra amounts of puppy photos 🙂

pss:  His fur is cotton ball soft.

  1. Vanessa:

  7. Maggi says:

The cookies were delicious, thank you! 😀
Okay, these shots are PRICELESS! I adore Jane Austen and Jane Austen-esque adorable puppy? Sign me up!

  8. Linda Diane says:

Well, you had me going there for a minute. I was sure that Miles’ Jane Austen role was going to be a romantic one. Oh, he was bonnetted preciousness and supplying Mr. Matty with the most adoring kiss. Then next thing you know he has wrestled free of that pesky bonnet and has flung himself full force into attack-the-Matty mode. Well, I think Mr. Miles’ role is now quite clear, yes QUITE. Who else could he be but Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Yessirree. Oh, and make that Mr. FURRY Hide. : )

  9. deborah says:

Two posts in one day!!! Be still my heart! Miles is a very handsome pup. Love the soft lighting in his shots and the affects you did on the cookie shots, which I am sorry to say, I inhaled. A man who will get up in the middle of the night to care for any type of baby is a Real Man. The One. To be honored. As you have. Good job. **happy smiles** Deb

  10. LuLu Kellogg says:

Oooooooo, a new baby! How wonderful! He is so precious and I had a great giggle over the wee one in the Bonnet!
How wonderful that Matty has a little brother!
    Lovie Lovie,
    LuLu~*xoxo

  11. Pat says:

Cookies look delish! I am so hungry right now I prolly could eat 2 or 5. Thanks for sharing them ~
Miles is absolutely, totally a bundle of love. He is so precious…and I’m so glad that Matty is accepting of him. They are adorable together.
I’ve missed checking in ~ lots going on. It’s so bitterly cold here in Texas that I wish I were in AZ enjoying the sunshine. I so hope that I don’t turn into Freddie Krueger before we have decent weather.
    Have a beautiful weekend!
    xoxo
    Pat

  12. Cori G. says:

I simply can not stop giggling at the sight of your furry wonder boy dripping in lace. How funny is that?
Ooh! Your cookies look oh so tempting…I hope you don’t mind if I help myself to two?
    Thank you!!!
    Love from me to you.

  13. Theresa says:

Puppy love!!!! He was more meant to be one of the dashing heroes in a Jane Austen novel! So rough and tumble as he is. 🙂 What a sweetheart he is!!! 🙂 Thanks for sharing some tea and cookies…they look so delicious!!! xoxo Theresa

  14. Laura S. says:

I knew his fur would be cotton ball soft, and his face in a bonnet? Absolutely precious!

  15. Where have I been? I don’t know…I seemed to have missed about four of your blog posts.
Oh…I have been slowly going through drawers and boxes of craft items, and craft books, and clothes I need to organize. The sun was shining for the last two days, so I guess the extra vitamin D coming from the sun was just what I needed to get me going. Your tea and cookies look mighty scrumptious too! Thank you very much!
Puppy love and Matty love…they look so happy together.
I love the Frida post too and the link for the book!
    Ciao for now!

  16. Deana says:

Vanessa, Just catching up on blog reading and discovered your new fur baby. Congrats! Miles is super cute. Also love your Christmas tree. Very cool idea. Happy New Year! Deana

  17. Renee says:

How does he do that, get cuter every day????
Yes, putting away the Christmas decor leads to many other post Christmas organizing and cleaning projects. That’s what I’ve been doing.
    cleaning and longing for spring.

  18. Amy Boelter says:

Oh those precious puppy dogs of yours! Love all the photos of them! Those cookies, make me want to bake something, yum. Amy

  19. Mo'a says:

Are you sure that you are not a little old lady?…baby bonnets on dogs *smile* He is adorable and makes me want another little one, that is why I am typing this fast and getting out of Dodge.
All kidding aside tell Mr. Lovee that I am on my way and to save me a cookie…for that cookie I will brake my diet. xoxo for you and xoxo for the boys.

  20. Wendy S. says:

Why Miles is Mr. Darcy and Lizzy combined! He’s sweet and pretty like Lizzy and then he has that independent and tough touch like Mr. Darcy! I think that he and Matty need to have their own J. Austen modern day production. I’d certainly love to see it and I know my “girls”, Miss Bell and Sele would be enjoy it too 🙂

  21. Like sand through the hourglass, these are the days of our…. Jane Austen Lives… That’s cute that Miles actually let you get that bonnet on him… Douglas is not even happy about wearing a jacket to go out in the snow! He hates it! We can’t play like that… we always have to play capture the flag (aka stuffed toy) or play soccer… Have fun… Miles is adorable!

  22. it’s easy to be smitten by everyone in your household….
    kj

  23. Stacie says:

O’ how I love your new baby….I would be so lost without mine! I have given up on FB and am back to blogging…lovely to find you again!

  24. Your post brightened my day. How adorable are these photos or what! Precious! Nan

  25. Vanessa, your little Miles looks utterly cuddly wonderful. I wish I was able to feel his lovely coat. He seems to have the power to melt one’s heart…that face…. Thanks for sharing such delightful photos of him with us.
I thought of you and Mister Lovee the other day when I heard of the sad news from Arisona. I’m glad you are all safe.
We have been having our own dramas, here in Brisbane, Queensland (Australia) with the FLOOD. I can still remember the last big one back in 1974. I hope they won’t become a regular thing every 35years or so. We were not actually inundated with water where we live…but 75% of the state is, and things may take a while to get back to normal here.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I have a giveaway going at the moment on my blog, if you get the chance to pop over.
Keep well, and enjoy your fur babies.

  26. rochambeau says:

  28. I dare not let The Man see this Post lest he have great expectations of warm cookies and freshly brewed coffee awaiting him come Morn *LOL*… and alas, I worked too many years of 2nd Shift to be up before him!
I do believe Miles may have an acting/ wrestling career before him… could do both… Hulk Hogan and The Rock have… *wink*… Dawn… The Bohemian

  29. karen cole says:

  33. FawnDear says:

I’m in love with Miles. He was definitly in character with Jane Austin – In fact I believe he was channeling James MeAvoy, who was channeling Tom Lefroy, who inspired the character of Mr. Darcy in ‘Becoming Jane’. What a scrappy little romantic.

  34. Below, I commented on the darling shoe pic and now I get treats to sit down to! Thanks for letting us all feel so welcome that we can kick off our shoes and sit for some coffee and goodies! blessings.

  35. Tara Bradford says:

So adorable. Seeing these pics of the adorable ones make me long for a puppy. But it’s not practical at the moment, particularly with all my travel. Am caught up in a whirlwind of packing/preparing for the move/dashing back and forth to Amsterdam and trying to edit photo shoot. Will catch up with you soon! xoxox
