I've always been grateful for the hope that spring brings.
Delights like medicine for the soul.
I'm sorry I disappeared, but I've been collecting my bearings.
Digging in soil.
Planting seeds.
Taking things day by day.
Finding my little way.
The amount of peace I find out in the sun, growing things, is more than I can describe.
You may feel the same way as well.
To watch the magic of spring unfold year to year does my heart wonders.
The peach tree blossoms bob in the blue sky.
This peach tree is the child of our great old peach tree at the country house.
There must have been a seed in the compost soil, as it sprung up right in a bed in the vegetable garden.
That kind of garden magic always takes my breath away.
And let's not forget petals.
Wonderlandish specimens of earthly delights.
Foxgloves, and Gene Boerners in pink.
And heavy cups of rose petals from David Austin – Golden Celebration.
I chase golden hour daily.
Do you?
What kind of enchantment is this?
Filtered dusty golden light through leaves, rays of sunshine dusted in fairy tales.
Backlighting leaves.
That last sun burst, beyond words.
I collect baskets of flowers to bring inside.
Cerise on the mantel.
I take my tea with me.
I ponder this and that.
And thank the garden for not forgetting me.
For being there.
Seeds, roots, soil, water, sun.
Telling you that everything is okay.
The hummingbirds dive through the sky into my hose water.
The bees dig through flower buds madly.
The dogs snore under the lemon tree.
I watch tomatoes and basil and onions reach for the light.
In this spring time of a garden's earthly delights.
I think about you – my friends who meet me here.
I send you my bestest of best thoughts.
I hope, I wish and I pray for us all.
I feel the way you do, we are here together.
Far away, but together.
I hope to find it within myself to come here more often.
To this place of goodness and dreams.
Be well, be safe.
Let's meet again here soon.
Shall we?
Love,
Vanessa

I’m so thankful to have my garden during this stay-at-home time. It’s not as lovely as yours, but the woodsy setting delights me (and the fairies and elves who visit). I grew flowers from seeds this year for the first time. Fun!!
Thanks for your inspiring words and photos.
