Mad Tea Planning Galore 🖤

Helloooo there!

Mad tea planning 9

I'm peeking in to say hello and how are you?

I left the mad tea invite post up for a week+ to let us all catch up after Memorial Day weekend & week.

I'm so excited so many of you are plunging in.

I'm swirling with thoughts for this year's party.

Although I do leave everything until a couple of days before when a wave of inspiration hits.

I'm kind of a last minute gal like that sometimes.

Mad tea planning 7

Times seems to flash by so quickly I can hardly catch my breath.

I can't believe it's MTP time again, can you???

Mad tea planning 8

I'm so excited for sweets, treats, magic and fun.

Mad tea planning 2

It's always such a joy to have a garden party.

Especially one of the wonderland variety.

Don't you think?

Mad tea planning 5

Tea cups and pretty things and clinking galore.

Mad tea planning 4

I think my true heart does really live somewhere between tea parties and fairy tale book pages flipping in the wind.  With a hint of real world, just for good measure.

A sort of twirl of daydreams and midnight gardens.

Or something like that, haha!

Mad tea planning 3

The flowers are still enjoying the garden.

Although it's getting realllllly hot in the desert.

Mad tea planning 6

I can't wait to see what we all come up with.

Mustn't be late, no siree.

Mad tea planning 10

I've been working feverishly on an illustration deadline.

It's exciting and fun and lots of work.

Keeping me busy is a good thing.

I've been climbing big hills and enjoying lots of nature every single day.

I hope to run up the biggest steepest hill without stopping for breath soon.

Running on flat ground is one thing, but uphill is a whole other animal.

I'm so excited to get out all the old china and have some fun with you.

Oh and by the way, welcome June 1st!

It's June!

And by the by, how are you out there in the world?

I post almost everyday over on instagram, if you want to peek in any ole time and say hello.

It's lots of fun over there.

I can't believe I fought social media for so many years, haha!!

Okay so, it's tea time for real.

I'll keep posting some fun inspiring tea party posts here before the party.

To get us all extra excited for ruffled shirts and top hats.

Love, V

Sparkly heart

So many gorgeous flowery things, Miss Vanessa! It’s gotten cold here again (40’s during the day this weekend!!), but warming up now, so hoping my pansies won’t have to worry about putting on sweaters or something to keep warm!!! Silly weather! But, on the other hand, the weather isn’t getting in the way of my progress on my Mad Tea Party post!! Can’t wait to see what everyone has planned!
    Sending hugs,
    Betty

  9. I new to your blog…..I saw your Mad Tea Party invite in the sidebar at “A Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson,” and I just had to comment, what a beautiful, whimsical blog! I love it!

  10. So many little things You say about Your soul and spirit ring so familiar and true to My soul and spirit. I love to listen to You put into words what I feel. Thank You sweet Vanessa……I hear Your soul speak.

    A Tale of Pleasant Anticipation
I was out in the garden taking care of my roses when my good friend Señorita Coquito (who is the most fidgety ladybug I know) landed on the tip of my nose. „There is going to be a Mad Tea Party again!“ she squeaked exitedly. „Vanessa, the Queen of Sweet Delights, has sent out invitations to oh so many illustrious guests that I can hardly…“ Coquito couldn’t finish her sentence. Before she knew, before I even knew, she had clumsily slipped off my nose. Thank heaven she’s got wings, I thought, and hearing her holler „I’m off to Arizonaaaa!“ I saw her disappear into the sky.
I shook my head. She’s mad enough to really do it. I mean, fly across the Atlantic. Coquito has always lived in Germany which you wouldn’t think judging from her name. That’s because she’s got Spanish ancestors, just like me. But that’s another story. And now, she’s off to Arizona…
I took a deep sigh, looked at my exuberant ruffly roses, and thought of all the aphids Señorita Coquito would miss. Well, I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. And as that last word kept resounding in my head, I truly had an epiphany! If there is a fence, I can sure look over it. My eyes will meet all of Vanessa’s amazing guests and wonders! Yes! And even though I’ll just be an onlooker, meaning sort of invisible, my eyes will be able to float around like the iconic grin of the Cheshire cat.
P.S.: Being all eyes during a Mad Tea Party is highly contagious!!!

  12. Jen says:

Yeah…I moved to a hilly area 3 years ago, and at first, my running was so very difficult because I was only used to running on flat land. Now, though, the biggest hill isn’t nearly as hard as it used to be. It was rainy here for a couple of days but now the heat is turning up. I didn’t get that many Spring flowers this year. I’m thinking it’s the drought. I know it’s the drought. 🙁 Have a lovely day dear Vanessa! xoxoxo Jen

  13. Michelle Lindquist says:

Loveliness. My soul sings from all the colors! And oh, would I love a bite of big, puffy pink hydrangea, thank you very much. Looks like that fork is about to scoop it up — and it looks like one of those big Hostess snowballs we used to eat as kids! 🙂 Your days sound wonderful, and I’m excited for you about the illustrations you’re working on. And about the hill-climbing … you will feel so powerful when you can make it all the way up without stopping. Take it easy, but go for it too! 🙂 And finally, I too feel like I live between two worlds, a wonderland and the real world, so I totally know what you mean about that! And … I wouldn’t have it any other way, and know you feel the same. 🙂

  14. Jen says:

These colors are just so gorgeous! I always look forward to visiting all the tea parties 🙂

  15. Lynda Shoup says:

Love tea parties in general and yours beyond all others! Lovely post entices me.
