It’s Clear…

It is very clear, you see, that you and I might be quite kindred indeed…

If you get the chance dance 3

Although, I thought we had a few things in common, the more I type, the more I share, the more you share, the more I realize that for the most part, you get me, and I get you.  And we love many of the same things and ideas.

Perhaps all it comes down to is that, we all just want to voice and live the same thought, which is…

I want to be free, to be me -

If you get the chance dance

All I know about this little life, is what works for me.  Mostly I feel my way around this fairytale world with my eyes closed, bumping into things.  Carving out a path with a sand shovel…

But some how, on that path, I bumped into you.  As we together carved out a little world in the virtual woods, that feels quite cozy it seems.

Silly stories, and enchanted creatures.  Paper and glue.  Paint and seashells.  Where DIY rules and where junk shows its true face as treasures that gleam.

What I am trying to say is that as time goes by, I feel like we are so lucky to have this world filled with folks who understand the creative world that we live in, and how precious it is…

If you get the chance dance 4

Plain and simple.

Thank you for being you.  For peeking in here.  For playing, and sharing your true colors.

This week marks my third year in this virtual land.  I hope there are many more to come!

Below is a party in a picture (nevermind that it was from this event ;).  It is meant as a little sporadic party for you.  Thank you over the moon for your kind birthday wishes.  I was so overwhelmed (with joy) from the lovely vibes dancing around me.  I hope I thanked everyone, I sure tried to.  If I didn't, I meant to, truly.  I can't ever thank you properly, or share how I felt this weekend, but it was deep…

If you get the chance dance 2

Here's to a continued world of enchantment, created by all of our imaginations grouped together, much like the imagery in the video below.

I have enjoyed watching this video all year, I hope it makes you smile too 😉 ~ It gets even better middle to end.

I will be back real real soon with some fun sharing.

  3. What a delightful video! Thank you for sharing it Vanessa.
I love your reference to kindred spirits.I think that, through our blogs, yes indeed, we allow ourselves to be ouselves. Most of the time, I feel like the odd one out out there.I feel like belonging to another planet. Here, in our virtual space, we “bump”, as you say, in people who are like us…”where have you been all this time?” I just want to ask them sometimes, but I just shut my mouth,no sound can come out because my heart is crying with joy and there is nothing to say…we just know that we have met one of us…
This is also how I met the man I love. There are several years between him and I, but…I just knew he was the one…
Keep on spreading your joy Vanessa, there will be more kindred spirits to come to you.

    Hi Vanessa,
What a lovely video! I adore Angus and Julia Stone, but I had never seen any of their videos. This one is just divine! Pretty much sums up what you’ve been chatting about. Wish that we could meet and have a chat about art and whimsies in person. 🙂 But at least I have your wonderful blog to cheer me.
    Have a great day! Theresa

    V,
“I get you, you get me.” Ahh at long last, a band of fellow travelers who just want to be who they are and are more than ok that I want to be who I am. Your blog makes me feel like I am home. I am waking up to who I am and I am so overjoyed to have found people like you “out there” who think like I do. My sweet darling husband has been more than supportive of my creative journey but it’s nice to have other creative people out there who “get it”.
    Love to you Miss V!

    Vanessa:
Oh my gosh, I have so much to say about your post and about the video, but I know I can’t fit it all into this teeny little box. I’m gushing right now. I know exactly what you mean about this electronic society of like-minded hearts. Honestly, as an artist, and with that truly quirky artist’s personality that I have (or so I’ve been told) I can’t imagine not having all of my like-minded friends through my blog. I’m sure that a large majority of my “in real life” friends don’t really get me. They see the world through a whole different view finder than I do. And…that’s okay, but we surely don’t have much in common. Can you imagine how hard it must have been to be a creative soul living in the suburbs 20 years ago? Oh it just makes my heart stop at the thought of it.
The video that you shared is the world inside my head. Always has been. I just want to dance my dance and play all day.
And here’s my confession for the day. I’ve done something that I swore I would never do…I’ve opened a twitter account. I don’t really know why, but it’s scaring me. I’m awfully intimidated by it. I’m following you so I might be able to understand it more. If you get a chance, would you mind following me just so I can get the hang of it?
    Thanks so much:
    Kim

There are always fanciful twists and turns in your neck of the woods. I come back and visit to see which turn you’ve taken and which way the path twists into the woods, where fairies dance.

  23. And I’m so glad I ‘bummed’ into you in this fairytale world too Ms. V 😉 So glad you had a great birthday weekend!

  24. Tina Gates says:

Sweet Vanessa, I know I have thanked you before, but I shall do it again…it’s lovely to come visit somewhere so magically wonderful, sometimes to escape, but sometimes to remind myself that there are other kindreds out there. Even though you live an ocean away from me, I cherish the moments I spend as your virtual friend. I see your beautiful heart in your posts, but also in your kind emails…it means the world to me and I honour your creativity and sensitivity in bringing joy to others…

  28. Yes, I’m grateful we artists and art-lovers can connect here in blogland. Thanks Vanessa for presenting little bits of your world, like wonderfully packaged presents, with us. You didn’t have to, but you do.

I am so distressed I fear I may have broken the chain for you Birthday posts. I have been living at my parents house taking care of them while my Mother recuperates from knee replacement surgery.
I don’t have a good connection for the internet at their house and my computer kept crashing there. I took my computer to my own home. I come to my home only every so often to write my counting down to Christmas posts…I write several of them ahead and they are published by Typepad on the the designated date.
This is why I missed the e-mail about your party…I am so sorry…you probably would have had more posts about you had I not broken the chain.
I am writing this here as an apology not only to you but to your followers also.
I am sorry, I am sorry. xoxo Mo’a

It’s so true…kindred spirits indeed! I think that inside each of us is a little girl who never grew up and longs to continue playing dress up, inviting our friends over for tea, and dancing in Gypsy gardens till the moon has gone to sleep and the elves have come out to play…they sleep during the day you know ;-).
I hope you have the most wonderful enchanted day today! Ooh! I hear our little bugaboo has made his way to you…YipppEEEE!!!!!

    Hi Vanessa,
Thank you for the party, I agree that there are so many kindred spirits in the Land of Blog. So happy that I met you here. ooooo, I loved that video, it is wonderful! You always find such great videos.
Once upon a time in 1967, my dad who actually was a cameraman for CBS by mistake filmed right over a golf tournament. It was so hilarious to watch some little old woman walk right in front of someone trying to get out of a sand pit. He was a mixed-media artist ahead of his time. That video reminded me of my dad’s hysterical mistake! Thanks for the memories.
    Karen

  36. And there I missed the whole birthday!!!! I`m so sorry…but I can see you had a fabulous time….I wish for you love, prosperity and peace in this year my friend!!!!!!!

  37. GG Pinkster says:

High and blue the kindred souls fly, with lanterns and music across festive skies.
The lights and the time making sense of our rhymes and it all weaves together in the tumbling spill of our laughter and love keeping our cups filled. Who grows tall and green and lets out golden with puppy dog barks and all well spoken? I think it is all those happy breezes living freed from the ancient bahzeezers freezers.
A magic touch and a hammer biff buff, bang bang- goes wonderful spray’s that tickles houses and fires and oh’ tomorrow and today.
Cradle thee in the tree, gypsy wagon circle teas. Trailing skirts and wonder moons free the souls -the flying leaves – grounding home in the snowy sugar camp breeze. Ahh to December births and the silver sea, kindred souls…..blow winds blow……from you to me, all seas breeze.

  38. Amazing and enchanting video, as are you and your wondrous blog!! Thank you for writing back to me – golly! Besides being a magical and kindred soul, you are also a thoughtful and a kind one. 🖤

“Just a boy” is fabulous! Loved all the marionettes…well I just loved the whole video!! Yes we do get each other and that is such a blessing!! As we travel our separate journeys of life…we bump into those we are supposed too! Making the journey rich and satisfying! I am so glad I bumped into you dear one.
    Hugging you

  43. Yay! kindred spirits, girly soul mates…I loved that video! So reminiscent of the ‘Flower Child’ days of the late 1960’s. The paper marionette’s were such fun and I loved the free expressive dancing of everybody in the video. What fun!

  44. Cyberdelia says:

I just now was able to catch up a few posts of yours, and lemme first say HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, and send you lots of virtual hugs, handfuls of glitter, and bags of cotton balls to act as pretend snow! I want to also say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for sharing as you do and giving the message of “it’s ok to be your own wild self.” I always thought that my nutty creative impulses and wanting to live in fairy tales were my own kind of neurosis. I LOOOOOVE that I’m not the only one! Yaaay! Hehe.
Here’s to the past year of wonder, and to every year to come being full of wonder, whimsy, sparkles, and adventures!

  45. waterrose says:

Happy Birthday to you! Love your thoughts…each and every one. It’s always nice catching up with you …you make me smile and laugh and to you hugs and thank you!

  46. oh.. I really love your post.. I’m actually envy of you because you get to do the things that you really love to do. 🙂 Anyways.. Belated Happy Birthday.. 🙂
