It's a holiday weekend in America, and we all know what that means.
When it's a holiday, the mice will play…
No matter where you are in the world, celebrating a holiday weekend or not…
And, no matter what sort of mischief you might be getting yourself into…
Please do make sure, that you create mischief, of the lovely…
Extra splendagorically delightful…
Safe…
And over-all, wonderful variety.
But by golly, get into some sort of mischief, won't you? Such as, eating cookies by flashlight at midnight. Or, dancing to Stevie Nicks on your Ipod, alone, under the stars. Or or, making a bubble bath that you can get lost in…
But for goodness' sake, please be careful ;)
Remember, I can not be held responsible for any of your mischief making.
I for one, have a chest cold on my tail (I can feel it walking behind me, trying to latch on to me). I am fighting it off like a gladiator, I tell ya. I have not been sick (with a cold) in 4 years, and I refuse to give in. Lest the universe decides to show me who is in charge.
Lucky me. Looks like covers, pillows and popcorn are in store for my mischief fest.
What? What's that you say?
You say I have to clean the kitchen and vacuum, and do laundry??
Oh sorry, but-
I can't, I don't feel well. Tee heeeeee.
Although, I live with a man who tells me to go find something lovelier to do than clean. Like play and paint. That sort of takes the fun out of wanting to be rotten, and milk not feeling well, for all it's worth. ;)
But, it's nice all the same.
Anyhow… (isn't that a great word?)
I hope you are having a super lovely day, and I'll see you very soon.
🖤,V

1) I had wonderful guests this week, furry ones and Ukrainian humans. Photos soon.
2) I bought fabric on-line, from the Fat Quarter Shop, and it arrived literally overnight, packaged safe and lovely. Yummm!
3) I ordered clay from Creative-Wholesale.com for the first time. The service was awesome, and I am super pleased with my over-all experience. Delivery was superb, and quick too. Yay!
your chest cold may now leave off and take up after the drenched little fisherman! How cute is that! (not the cold, the boat!)
Hope you are well vanessa. I like that your man knows how to offer out good advice;)
we must chat soon!

Leeks are awesome for warding off colds.

i peeped in to see what was going on in the bloggyverse, but actually our back porch is full of people and kids and pizza right now! Musicians no less. (I made homemade pizza but it was considered the appetizer gourmet) 🙂
Now i will be singing madonna 🙂
Have a lovely holiday weekend!
I think I’ll use the bubble bath suggestion, that sounds delightful.
and…. FIGHT that cold off sister!!!!
Nasty colds! I hate them because they ruin all your fun, but popcorn…YUM!!! Now that’s sure to brighten our day. Have you ever made buttered popcorn (I like to burn my butter)then sprinkled it with salt, cinnamon, and sugar? It is the bestest says I and feeds the need for both something salty and sweet…Ooh!!!! I think I’m going to go make some right this very minute. I’ll think of you as I’m happily munching away. Now off to bed you go with some hot tea and lemon ;-).
Much love my Fanciful friendling extraordinnaire!!!!! I can’t spell that word…eekkk!!!
Get well soon!
A holiday – is that why the internet is practically asleep? I’m having a party with almost no guests *weeps*
and I think 5 of the 200 blogs in my blog reader have only been updated since yesterday!
What are you doooing there in America? Why aren’t you playing with me? Oh, that’s right, YOU are playing and there are mice and a boat. That makes me a little happier, yes it does. Sort of.
um, that should say, only 5 out of 200 blogs have been updated. Where is everyone? Is there a secret party without me? Is everyone with their relatives and eating desserts until they almost fall asleep?
Oh what mischief you are having. Glad that it is fun. I plan on blowing bubbles into the cool Micigan sun. Maybe it will help bring more sunshine.
My Magical Muse, you never fail to make me squeal with delight! Wee mouse falling into the pool provided today’s squeal! Oh how I adore you. My garden faeries are on their way with magical healing dust…they should arrive by sunset…check your garden and breathe in deeply. **blows kisses** Deb
Oh it does sound like you are preparing to play more. Have fun and my goodness, do not get sick. That is definitely not fun. Now I must run along and play.
How cute…love the little boat critters! Happy Holiday!
Oh, Missy, I hope you can run fast so that cold won’t catch ya. Have a lovely, restful weekend.
Oh, and thanks for the link to that wholesale site… GREAT prices!!!
Wishing you and your boys a happy weekend.
xoxo,
Kate
Hope you feel better. I say when I have a cold, it’s a good time to have a bed party. Stay in your bed, read books and relax.
Here is a secret for you…bay leaves. If you take a couple of them and wrap them in a hot washcloth. Put them on your chest or nose..it will help clear up your cold.
Enjoy your weekend.
Hope you shake that cold.
Does ice cream with caramel syrup count?
I’m cleaning windows-but only because it is such a beautiful day and I want to see it-the windows were bad:)
Oh they are just so cute. When I was a little girl I could never resist cute little felt mice done up in clothes and was always begging my parents to buy me them from gift shops. I know I would have loved these! I hope he got out of the water OK though… I’m worried now!
Oh, I do hope you get better soon! Surely there’s a fairy nearby who can give you some magical chicken soup! Loved your little mice. Je do deteste having colds. Major bummersville, but you will be well in no time and appreciating your good health all the more! Once you get this cold out of the way, then maybe you won’t have aaany more aaaall winter. : D
Hello Vanessa! I really hope you feel better soon. Snuggle up with Mr. Matty, a good book, and a nice cup of hot tea and just R-E-L-A-X. 🙂 Enjoy the rest of the weekend. xoxo Theresa
WEll…there is homemade chicken soup, that some people swear by when you have a cold coming on. And Echinacea for a cold (the computer doesn’t like my spelling of the word but I JUST looked it up!) It has ‘china’ in the middle of it. But me, I swear by a homeopathy remedy called Hepar Sulphur either bought at the Vitamin Shoppe in a small, blue cylindrical plastic vial in the 30cc dose. I start taking it BEFORE flu season and all winder long actually. They are little white, round pills with an infinitmestimal amount that helps your immune system fight those bugs. Also, drink lots of good water. I haven’t had a cold for four years since taking it (knock on wood)…but I did get the Swine flu last December (I hate the flu shots, they seem to bring on MORE symptoms of a worse kind, and you get something different! And no, I did not get a flu shot). Just hope you feel better soon! I love your little mousies..they are so cute!
Well, I am just ‘laying back’ this weekend, but alas, I do have ironing to do.
I am eating papaya and the seeds for my immune system, also pumpkin seeds which have 148 calories per ounce, and 9 grams of protein per ounce, and they pack a fair amount of iron too. But, the latest is sweet potatoes (which they really aren’t a potato but are in the morning glory family, which I thought was from the ‘deadly nightshade family, as regular potatoes are from). Anyway, then there are tangerines which I just read eating the rind, grated helps fight some cancers(breast). If Americans would just begin eating right again…me included…we would be a lot more healthy.
And stay away from artificial sweeteners, the body cannot digest them. I have never done the artificial sweeteners either, they just don’t seem natural. Enough from ‘The Doctor’s Book of Food Remedies’…although it is a very informative book. Just get the book, it has a wealth of information from all of the major universities around the world who analyzed fruits, vegetables, and fibers to stay healthy and get well.
I am not a doctor, so, don’t say you heard it from me. Ha! But they say Scarlett O’Hara stayed slim because her ‘mama’ fed her sweet potatoes before going to a party, then Scarlett was full and didn’t want to eat and she kept her pretty waist line.
Hee, hee!
I am being catty today…hope you can tell!
=^..^=
Me in CA
I’m in love with that miniature 7Up can, hahaha 🙂
Also happy belated birthday to Matty, loved the previous post too.
Hope you’re having a great holiday!
Such a perfectly mischievous post. I do hope your tail heals soon. Have as much fun as you can while it does.
Hugs,
Terri
I’m back! Sorry, I spelled winter ‘winder’ like I had a cold…funny me!
I meant to thank you for those two wonderful links for fabric and also for clay. I have never ordered clay online…I have usually purchased it from Michael’s, and I was wondering if there was somewhere else besides Dick Blick, although they have great stuff too! But I have ordered lovely vintage fabric on Etsy from the ‘Vintage’ section and have found lots of lovely fabric for dolly clothes (cloth and clay dolls, i.e. Izannah Walker style) and also laces and trims for steampunk wrist cuffs or altered art. I will try making ANYTHING groovy!
Please feel better soon!
hugs and love,
Miss Teresa
Oh we have been getting into all kinds of mischief this weekend miss V…don’t you worry about that dear friend 😉 And I hope that cold goes away and you feel all better so you can get into more mischief too.
Jamie 🙂
OMG! I’m glad you warned about the deadly nightshade. I’ve got that in the front yard and have been admiring the berries for yrs., even brought some in the house and put them in a vase. I also have datura, but down in the canyon out of sight. Do you suppose Georgia O’Keefe hallucinated painting all the datura??:)
Oh, Miss V., I just love this post. You are wonderfully whimsical! I went to Japan, came back, dealt with jet lag — but, now that I am reading your blog again, it means I’m “officially” back to being myself.
P.S.
I’ll send you some photos when I get a moment…XO!
Oh I would love to play! I will bring tea and socks and we will tell tales that will delight every beast and man!!
Hugging you
SueAnn
