Whisper the waking of…
Spring time…
New little lives surround us in earth sprouts and clay…
Paper dress dolls put on a Welcome Spring show, while the Mad Hatter sleeps…
Flowers for the local witch,Winnifred Bidelia…
I search…
Time to uncover a fresh does of magic…
A sprig of this, a dash of that…
There it is…
Now, which key to use?
Sending you a great big huge hearty dose of inspiration from our little nook…
On this beginning of new beginnings.
Au revoir winter.
Sniffle.
You will be missed as your essence lingers for just a few more weeks or even days, and then, with a whip of wind, you will be but a memory.
Hello spring, do stay and get cozy, won't you?
Sometimes, do you feel like you just want to run as fast as you can, and catch a butterfly net of enchantment, just for you. Just to keep and hold, and fill your inner cup of hopes and loves and dreams?
Something wonderful, something invigorating?
Something mind blowing?
I do.
Today is the day to capture some of that.
I just know it.
Winter said good-bye with one last snap.
48' F for a high yesterday.
84'F for a high coming on Saturday.
I know, wacky.
Perfectly circular orbs of hail fall from the clouds, in one last winter hoorah.
Arroyo Lupine with an excellent head start, masking water pipes.
A pup who doesn't really feel like having his pic taken today, because he was rushing by with a huge log of wood when I stopped him for a snapshot 😉
Gathering edibles.
Turnips and broccoli.
Served for breakfast with eggs and potatoes mixed with fresh flat leaf parsley and rosemary.
Spring 2012 is here. Isn't that sort of surreal?
I don't know why it is making me gasp?
Excitement? Hope?
I don't know, but my heart feels all a flutter.
You?

ps: Gypsy magic has been on high alert in the blogosphere the last couple of years. However, I have been spying lots of gypsy love in magazines lately…
April 2012 issue of Vogue is full of gypsy love…
And, I adored Rosamund Pike (below) in Town and Country in the late fall of 2011.
If we could all just hit the road in our own wagons.
With complete freedom of soul, and lack of worry.
Even if just for a week.
Wouldn't that be grand?

Yay!!! Spring is here. I am so, so, so thrilled. I can’t wait to really dig into my garden AND watch your spring garden come to life here on these electronic pages. Your garden inspires me so.
Right this very minute, I am in the middle of all sorts of gnome-ing. I’m making a little gnome house out of a large upside down terra-cotta pot. You see, I went to pick up the empty pot a few days ago, and a chunk broke out of it in just the exact pattern of a door. So, I’m creating a little hideaway for my garden guardians.
I do love the gypsy photos up-top, but you will always be the best gypsy gal with the best gypsy wagon ever.

Haven’t been here for ages, but wanted to say hi :~) It’s still winter here in Portland and I *really* want to move to Tucson!!!!!!
Elaine, I knew a couple who loved Tucson and wanted to move here from
Portland. So, they did. When summer came, they freaked out – sold
everything and went back to Portland like they were running from Godzilla.
Summers here can really do that to you 😉 But all the other time, it is
beyond lovely. Thank you for stopping in!! 😉
Kim, I am going to have to rent a bus, and go steal you and bring you back
with me. Yes, thats it. 😉 xoxo
Oh I know! Spring is here. Winter is giving its last fair well this weekend, when it will rain showers, and then off to spring land! I love Easter, it is one of my favorite holidays, and May is my birthday month, so spring is a good season for me. Most of my friends are born in the spring too. Yippee for bunnies! Haha 🙂
I love winter, but I have a feeling this spring is going to be extra special exciting. What about you?
And I have been seeing a lot of gypsy stuff circulating recently as well. I love that style…why can’t I have my own little wagon?? Is this too much to ask?????
🙂
Have a wonderful day 🙂
xoxo Jess
What great photos of Gypsyhood!
I just knew you’d have a Solstice postice.
We had hail on Saturday. HAIL! In L.A.!
That’s when I knew majic was afoot!
I’m always up for a good bus ride! 🙂

Chrissy, heloooo hello!!!!! Oh you know me 😉
Jess, I can never imagine what it would be like to have a birthday in
May!!! Imagine that? How wonderful!! I am a December birthday
person – so, May would be so unusual. What fun, a birthday amongst the
flowers!!!

In a message dated 3/20/2012 3:32:03 P.M. US Mountain Standard Time,
Oooh, can we all start a gypsy wagon train? Pretty please?! Spring time is wonderful here. Even when it gets “cold” it is warm again in a few days. I do love Arizona. I can’t wait to see your amazing spring and summer garden, it is always so magical. I am still hoping find some time soon to start planting so feel free to send any extra seeds my way!
ps. I love your new painting. I would certainly buy it if I had the money to spare. I guess I will just have to wait until it comes out in a card or print version!
Oh, for a gypsy wagon
and a winding road.
Or a sailing ship
with calm seas
and fair winds behind me.
No looking back!
Full sail ahead.
You always have the most interesting posts and pictures of food…hmmm, I’m hungry…along with Miles & Matty. Spring has definitely arrived in Texas, really a couple of weeks ago. Horrible storms all last night, never let up and my little boyo (dog) would not, could not sleep so of course, I didn’t either.
Have a great week!
xo

Hi, I just wanted to tell you I am always happy to see a post from you in my google reader. I scroll down hoping to see a glimpse of Miles… I love that dog! He is so sweet.. cream and sugar I think you said. What a cutie.
Vanessa, I am just grinning away seeing that look on Miles face! He is sooo not excited about your spring cheer! I hope you gave him back his log! Te He HEE !
It was nice to get that storm and rinse away some of the Arizona dust and to welcome in the spring! Spring has sprung! ; )
My first visit here 🙂 Why didn’t I find you before?! Lovely inspiring pictures of your studio, I could sit and dream there forever!
Jess xx
Spring is here full swing, our highs are in the mid 80’s also. I love the pictures definitely inspiring for Spring!
I’d love if would share this post in a Blog hop I’m hosting on Saturday or a different post if you wish. The details are here. http://www.treegoldandbeegold.com/2012/02/spring-has-sprung-blog-hop-march-25th.html
That poor puppy- he looks just miserable, doesn’t he? And my goodness he’s gotten to be such a big boy! Beautiful- thanks for sharing!
Oh, your yummy garden produce! Everything looks so fresh and good.
I’ve been looking for one of those extending armed magnifying glasses for almost a year. Yours is just what I’ve been searching for—-what a find!
Violet LOVES “The Red Balloon”—such a classic
Your posts are always jam-packed with a variety of wonderful things! Happy Spring and gypsy wagons to you – and Miles for being such an incredibly good sport.
I like that phrase of a butterfly net of enchantment. So beautiful.
Happy that Spring is here. It’s lovely to watch the earth wake up again and share the delight with my Jacob, too.
Oh my, yes that would be grand!!
Spring is a very exciting time of year in Queenie’s world, always has been and hopefully always will be. New beginnings are always so refreshing and inspiring Art Nouveau images have been springing forth and running around the muse’s little grey cells of late…. hmmmm and maybe a few bumble bees.
Enjoy all the season has to offer.
Always, Queenie
I adore ‘The Red Balloon’!!! Such a charming French tale. I think, years ago, when I saw it for the first time, when I was very young, I was so happy for the boy who escaped from the meanies who were after him. Those amazing colorful balloons came to his rescue, much more fun than being rescued by knights in armor!!!
Ah! Spring! I tried looking for four-leaf clovers in my lawn but couldn’t find any. 🙁
And the gypsy life…reminds me of ‘Wind in the Willows’ when Toad was so mesmerized with going off into the wild blue yonder to taste the life of the gypsy. Such a very, very magical post today!
Toot! Sweet!
Miss Teresa
Feliz primavera para vos!!
Feliz otoño para mi!!!
Hi Vanessa! I just caught up on all of your posts–I have been busy getting married, woot! 🙂 I have pics up on my blog 🙂 I love your beautiful new paintings and all of your veggies and edibles look so wonderful! I hope you are all doing wonderfully, and happy spring! 🙂 ~Lauren
Is that Eric Bana in the gypsy photo shoot? I could just eat him for lunch.
Happy Spring Miss V!
Thanks for your lovely stop by Broomsticks and Lace, Willa’s been sitting on my fireplace of late. And do not thank me for giving her a home! Thank YOU for letting her come live with me! She’s such a delight. If I ever lack inspiration, creativity, or feel a bit too ordinary, I look over at Willa and it’s like she whispers the perfect thing. Straight from your magical hands, to her magical existence, to my ears.
I am so happy to see the other characters at A Fanciful Twist are up to loveliness. I am also happy to see you are creating MORE of them! They fill the world with a little more sparkle than it had before, something so valuable and treasured 🙂
Speaking of seeing fashion inspiration going around – did you see the Mad Hatter Collection at Shabby Apple??

Reminds me of our tea parties!! LOL

Spring is my favorite season. Too bad that it gets shorter and shorter with each year. We should cherish it!
Only just came across the site through the big G. And I’m so glad I did, you write very well. Myself and my fiancee have already subscribed to your mailing list, searching thru a bit of your other older posts now.
