Fresh Petals

Warm warm week in the land of sun.

So warm that rose bushes are puffs of leaves.

And, little petals reach for the sunlight.

First little nosegays fill the mantle.

I love firsts, don't you?

The delphinium unfurled and I found a tall arroyo lupine full of flowers hidden around some water pipes.

I brought some in along with the first wisteria blooms.

The rose arbor is also about to explode.

So I took a few white roses.

I simply couldn't help myself.

Pastel goodness.

It's definitely almost spring and nearing Easter isn't it?

There is this song called Église by Chicane that reminds of me of nature's great magic of firsts.

Sun over horizon, melting snow.

Green pushing through earth, flowers forming.

Sigh.

Such gifts we are given.

It's was a glorious day.

I'm still painting clay, in fact I made a new creature last night on a whim.

So, she's fired and ready for paint too.

Closer, getting closer.

Here's to a wonderfully lovely weekend.

I may escape for a couple days.

See you super soon <3

Love, Vanessa

Sparkly heart

Ps:  Some random bird pics from today.

Lots of bird action in my garden.

Loud chatter of all kinds.

Swirls of 5 hummingbirds and some other cuties fighting.

Cardinals chasing each other around, quail making nests.

A dove hidden in her nest above my little gallery, sitting quietly watching me.

So much bird life all day long.

    So beautiful!

  2. Marilyn says:

So jealous! You have red cardinals!! Oh how I love them, but they don’t reside here in the Pacific Northwest.

  3. The delphiniums are stunningly gorgeous. They are fairy tale enchanting. This is odd…it seems the more busy I become with life, the more creative I become. Maybe I desire the creativity because it is so much a part of my life, I can’t live without it!
And I am always on the trail of the latest art concept or painting technique. There is something always ‘out there’ that I was never aware of and like the curious Alice that I am, I have to figure out the mixed media process, and when I am done figuring it out, I am on to the next venture! My fickle artist brain is never satisfied! It always wants MORE!
    love to you!

  6. He’s great, up to his daily shenanigans & probably cursing me right now for the trampoline insanity, haha!

  7. Awe Deborah, lots of love <3 <3

  8. Miss Teresa, you’re a fairy hearted arty soul through & through. I agree, delphinium are so special. How is California doing? Lots of love to you too <3

  9. They don’t? I didn’t know that about cardinals. They are so special. A boy chased a girl around in the trees above me for an hour yesterday. So cute <3

  10. jeanie says:

How lovely! I call the cardinals Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Cardinal — or Bobby C. I love seeing them romp in the trees. We still have lots of snow — awhile before we see those flowers — but we are seeing our lovely red birds!

  11. Ms. Linda says:

Such lovely spring flowers you have. They are a breath of fresh air. Here in Michigan we still have snow on the ground and temps are 20 to 30 degrees. Last week we got 7 inches of the white stuff and the week before we got 11.5 There is hope that this week it will reach 45 degrees, so I’m not giving up. Your photos give me hope that Spring is making it’s way across the us.

  12. Kelly says:

Gorgeous V!! So you got your trampoline! LOL!!! Enjoy your week! 😉

  13. Emma says:

Ah Vanessa, such beautiful pictures, I can’t wait for spring! I have a few things out in the garden, but I’m so excited with the anticipation of the cherry and peach blossom!
I hope you had a few good days off!

  14. Indigo says:

How pretty and bright and happy your pictures are! So lovely! I am very much looking forward to Spring! We’re still having the occasional mini-snowstorms but they are becoming less frequent and very, very weak. It’s not really even sticking anymore. There are more birds coming around now. Soon, soon!
    Hugs!

  15. Holly says:

All your pastels bring me into your fairytale. Awesome bird shots!
