Fairy Lights & Winter Nights

Oh lovely winter evenings.

The best part is plugging in the fairy lights.

Fairy lights 3

I love fairy lights all times of the year.

But on these early winter nights they are extra beloved.

Just as the pink light fades to purple snow mountains…

Fairy lights 1

I plug them in.

Fairy lights 6

Putting on the electric kettle as beautiful winter colors dance in fluffy clouds.

Fairy lights 2

I hide in here a lot these days it seems.

With faux flickering light bulbs and signs of Valentine's day.

Fairy lights 5

Amor and all.

Fairy lights 8

I string fairy lights here, there & everywhere.

Fairy lights 7

Wonderful things on cold winter nights.

Fairy lights 9

Cozy in the colorful tea nook.

Fairy lights 4

Dreaming and plotting and planning fun things.

On my little wicker chair.

Lemon ginger tea.

Fresh candied orange peels.

Music, wagging tails.

Mandolin in the distance.

All is good on these loveliest winter fairy light nights.

It's been chilly, cold for us in the land of sun.

Not like you snow fairies.

But still cold at night in the mountains.

Thank goodness for my Miles cuddler to keep me warm.

Matty just cuddles in his own bed and I cover him up as he snores.

I love the Valentine vibe in the air.

Pink and red make me so happy.

I stroll around my garden pinching rosemary and lemon leaves.

They smell so good.

It's amazing how winter flowers do so well in the cold.

I hope you're staying warm out there.

I'm off to work on a new painting.

See you really soon!

Love, Vanessa

See you soon a fanciful twist 300px

The mountain pictures are stunning! Those beautiful colors.
Everything in your house looks so bright & cheerful! It’s so nice to see such cheerful pictures when it’s sooo gloomy here. I think they said that this is the second cloudiest (gloomiest) January on record. We just want a little sunshine! It’s a bit colder here in Chicagoland this week. It had been above average & still no snow! We may get a whole inch tomorrow! Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos with us!

Oh my goodness. Veevala. I tell you what. Sometimes you show this Florida chica pictures of these impossibly gorgeous mountains in incredible colors and I think if I looked out the window and saw that I would think I’d died and had made it upstairs. I mean. WOW. Wowsa. Enjoy it for me please please please! 💗
Ok so yeah yay fairy lights! Or any lights. We have multicolor lights in the archway between the living room and the doggy room; lights hanging over the keyboard; tiny white lights hanging in corners, intertwined with Japanese lanterns; colored light bulbs in the lights over our bed and a crazzzzzy amount of lights outside! No twinkle white for us though – we love the LEDs.
It was kinda cold on the walk today. Like the high was 50 and the sun never came out. We did some house cleaning and percussion playing and (shhhh don’t tell!) Lawrence Welk watching. Now we are on the couch, surrounded by fur pups, watching TV, snugly warm. Happy winters pre amor night to you! Smoothies! Xoxoxoviiiroostah

beautiful, magical, thank you for all the specialness that only you bring 🙂

  6. I love the cozy vibe of this post! It’s much needed after freezing yesterday at the horse show. I’m looking forward to decorating for Valentine’s Day later on today! We’re in our tiny lake cabin at the moment enjoying hot tea and a fire. I wish we didn’t have to leave this afternoon!
    Have a lovely Sunday!

It will reach 50 degrees here today and sun will feel warm on my back..I love days like that…when the sun doesn’t bake you but warms you.. Work continues with the house.. We have begun to work in earnest on the craftroom… we bought lights yesterday…not the fancy pretty lights i would have loved but lights that will do the job… We have to save money where we can… these lights do the job wonderfully and cost a fraction of what the ‘pretty’ ones do… so i’am happy.. Almost done sanding the walls…and ceiling … so hard working over your head..Hugs! deb

I live in mountain country too, in Oregon. I love the pinkie-purple evenings on the snowy peaks. My drink of choice is Hot spiced cider. I make a blend of cinnamon, all-spice, fresh chopped ginger and steep it with fresh lemon slices for an hour or two, then strain and store, hot up when ready to drink. Very good with gingersnap cookies and an old romantic book. I recommend “Miracle of the Bells,” by Russell Janey, also was made into a film in 1948.

Hi! I’m delighted once again as I log in to take a peek at what your up to!
I love the beautiful mountains too as they turn pink to purple. When I used to live in Arizona and I got off work to head home towards the east some days the color setting in the east, those pinks and blues, were just as pretty as the sun setting in the west. Also I get a kick out of your Matty, I had one too; looked just like yours ( I sent you a picture a while ago)he was so independent he never needed to cuddle but was dutiful and loyal always. We lost our angel: Billy James Lawson Sept 15, 2016 to that horrible Valley Fever. We never knew he had it until it was too late. We are reading ourselves to adopt another lucky shelter dog soon though.
    Hugs!
