Blame it on the lovely days…
Beckoning me, bewitching me into the sun and paint, still.
I went out to shade my flower painting, but then…
Ended up starting a new one.
Another one.
I just want to be outside, blaring my music and painting.
Morning, noon and night.
Painting imaginary whimsical flowers.
Alas, the winds blow in with some cooler temps.
So, we get the fire going night after night.
Fur and sunsets, fairy lights and warmth.
Love that background sunset.
The little stove gives such wonderful warmth.
We hang out at the gypsy wagon.
I have a trick to tell the heat of my stove.
I keep a kettle of hot water on, it tells (guides) me if the heat is high, medium or low.
Tricky, eh?
I make dinner and then almond milk hot chocolate for dessert.
Clink clink.
It's chilly, but not cold.
The days are sunny warm, but the breeze is quite cool, so it's nice.
However, the winds are blowing in, changing our weather.
I see the grey.
Maybe winter is finally coming by, who knows?
For now…
I have sunburned shoulders, and the sky is all starry nights.
One extra big and bright.
And in the new grey day, we have naps with twigs and leaves on ears.
Pure bliss.
Life is short.
Life is fleeting.
Life passes quickly, act accordingly.
That's my motto.
🙂
Happy weekend my friends!
Any great plans?
Great plans to me are utterly fantastic movies, popcorn, crocheting, playing checkers, warm socks, grilled veggies, happy dogs.
You?
Well, off I go for now, see you soon!
Love, V

It was grey here this morning when we went for our walk. Now, it’s breezy and cool and there are peek-a-boo areas of beautiful blue sky.
I just saw a Western Kingbird on my bird fountain for the first time ever. They usually stay way up, tip-top, in the trees. Wonder why he came down to the bird bath today.
I am preparing for tacos tonight and watercoloring through the entire weekend! No football for me! Although, my guys watch it and I’ll prepare some food for them, then….I’m outta there!
I am loving your flower paintings so much. They make me smile and feel all springtimey!

Gerushia’s New World
You know what I got out of all that?????? SUNBURNED SHOULDERS!!! That sounds wonderful! : )
I have a windburned face! Almost the same, no?
Love the photos! Makes me want to pull up a stool & join in!
I will be inside this weekend crocheting & working on Valentine’s Day treats!
We’re supposed to get almost a foot of snow by Sun. Another potentially bad snow storm is coming on Tue.!
I went to the grocery store & got all stocked up so I won’t have to go out in it. There may be some ice mixed with the snow tomorrow. That’s a good time to stay warm & cozy indoors!
Mmmm weekend! Mine is filled with paint covered hands, dress up for teenage formal dances, and yes movies and popcorn and napping dogger! Enjoy your’s my friend!
Love your warm world …..as always thanks for sharing because it always makes me smile
I agree with Laura above – your pictures are so inviting, it makes me want to be there in the warmth of the sun and the evening fire. It all looks wonderful. I’m with you on that motto!
Oh, and your sleepy boy! Too cute!
Oh, Vanessa. Just love your stories…
When I first ready your weekend plans, I read “playing checkers” as “playing characters.” Which I think is a WONDERFUL idea…I’ll spend some time this weekend playing characters. 😀
Hellooooo!!! It’s been so long since I’ve stopped by. ^_^
I love your flower paintings! They’re simply magical. I keep daydreaming of the sun and the warmth… we’ve had some sun the past few days, but it’s still COLD. Ah well. Spring and the Summer will be here in their own time.
As for this weekend… I’m planning to catch up on my housework. Which probably sounds dull, but a clean house makes a happy Annalee. ^___^
We’re also heading to my wife’s folks’ house for diner on Sunday and some cribbage. ^_^
I hope everyone in your neck of the woods is doing wonderfully!
XOXO
Really? No snow, ice? Amazing! Such a pretty setting, love the cook stove and copper, I have a silly question, How do you keep the cook stove protected from bad weather? I have one I would like to use outside, however I don’t want it to rust in the rain or even a damp day,
Gray and snowy skies are her again… Winter storm warnings are upon us with no clearing till Monday. Glad I have lots of things to work on.
Your paintings are wondrous. Love the bright colors. They remind me of spring. After the groundhog sees it’s shadow tomorrow we will have 6 more weeks of winter..
I am so more than ready for spring.
Have a great weekend.
Lovely to have a stove out in the garden. That has been my wish for a while. But since I live in a rainy place a stove would rust.
Celeste,
I live in Southern Arizona, where it only rains about 17 days out of the
year. This is crazy but I hadnt even thought about the rain and
moisture. It is dry dry dry here. No moisture in the air much at
all. I think since it hardly ever rains, I take for granted that I can
leave all my stuff outside all the time 😉
Hello there, Vanessa!
I love your flower paintings, especially with the black background!
Anytime you take us to the gypsy wagon, I want to smile and dream that I too have a gypsy wagon. It seems like such a beautiful place to hang out.
Today will find me creating (signed up for a swap) and cleaning. Clutter takes over way too fast. I attribute it to my creative (read “messy” ha!) projects and having a smallish house to spread it all out in!
Plus it doesn’t help that my two fur boys’ greatest joy in life is gutting their stuffed toys. I believe you have mentioned that challenge as well. Right now there are puff balls of stuffing everywhere!
In between my moments of creativity I shall set the timer and challenge myself to tackle something or other for 15 minutes. Doing dishes? Nah. Laundry? Mmmm, not so sure. Oh, I must bite the bullet and make time for the necessary lest I look up one day, screw up my face in disbelief, and exclaim, “When did all of THIS mess happen?” Yep. Takes over inch by inch until I’m surrounded! ; )
Love your painting and cooking outdoors.
Oh swooning over the stars including that little dipper.
And then twig in dog fur, so sweet.
My weekend started by baking an apple pie,
tonight friends and tomorrow family.
Well I was supposed to go to my mom’s house for the weekend but her house was snowed in, so I stayed in my town and had a film festival for myself tonight, ate a semla (google it) and raspberries.
I think those are great plans too 😉 I can’t believe what beautiful photographs you got of the stars! Dreamy 🙂 You are helping me muchly with those life mottos right now, I have been feeling extra anxious!
Oh that painting is so BEE-autiful!!!! Can’t wait to see it entirely finished. What is great plans for me? A hike with the hubby, chilling with the furry babies, cooking a great dinner together, going out and doing something fun – like visiting an art or historical museum. 🙂
Oh, Miss Vanessa!
How I do wish we were there to have soup and hot chocolate with you! I’m sure it has been chilly for you there, but we are surrounded by snow, snow and more snow! We would give just about anything to be in a warmer place right now! But for now, your beautiful photos will have to do!
Sending you hugs,
Betty
