This is my ghoulish attempt at a pre-post for a post that may or may not come to be for the spookiest day of the year (tomorrow). You see, Mr. Lovee and I are fighting against the greatest forces of E-Ville (no joke), to try and bring you to the most hauntedest spookiest place around…
Between flat tires, dead batteries and forgotten rehearsals (Mr. Lovee), everything is getting in our way. But I am bound and determined.
So, we had to stop for a breather and have tea time, before we make our last attempt this afternoon. Which really should be called treat time, because, really, who are we kidding? We have tea-time as an excuse around here to have treats that, we have convinced ourselves, don't infringe on the daily alloted calories. And we don't even have tea all that often.
It is more like magical coffee time, of the extra strong variety…
Dare I say, the ghosts and goblins are not at bay. They are hard at work, and endless play… They stole an entire bowl of perfectly yummy sour cream butter sugar vanilla frosting!! And they tried to open my bedroom door to the outside world at 3 a.m. last night. So Spoookie!! Although I blame that one on vampires.
I am indulging in every bit of Halloween I can wrap my life around. Even though, it feels like Halloween already passed. Drawing pumpkins and snowflakes and Christmas trees in summer, kind of throws you for a lopp-D-loop. (Christmas cards should be here anyday for the shopling)
So to keep me Halloweenie Happy, I made these delicious most moist lovely Queen cakes.. And then decorated them. Such fun!! I love those little attachable frosting thingamajigies, that you just attach to the the black frosting tube. Did that make sense?
All I can say is, beware of who finds out about your baking. You never know who might show up down the pencil drawn path to abscond a few baked goods… (or who drags you out of sleep at 1 a.m. to be put on canvas…)
Did you choose your pufkin?
Yummy MUMMY! A twilight Zoney cakey love…
Now, here is where this gets good. This is going to be an insane weekend of fun giveaways that was not even planned intentionally!! I know it is all going to seem mad. But I picked up some awesome Day of the Dead treats for Sunday. Which again is Dia de Bloglandia!
By the way, did you see this? How fab and funny is that? Dia de los Plush!! Seems not far from here (few hours)…
So, back to business….
Let's consult the hand and see if I can pull the next 3 days off…
Oh wait, the hand says, wait, is it true? Let me check this out… Can it be? This hand is a giveaway!! Yes yes, a palmistry hand for one of vous!!
Leave a comment in this blog post or tomorrow's blog post to win this hand… Leave a comment in each one, to enter your name twice… I will be writing these names out and drawing from a hat on Tuesday.
Hand comes complete with little book (instructions of sorts)…
Annnnnnd, more treats to giveaway on Sunday for Day of the Dead. Annnnnnnd, if I can get it together I may or may not make an announcement tomorrow about something that has been sitting lonely waiting to be told since April… It is not a book, and not a baby, and not a new boyfriend (unless of course, Javier Bardem is going to pick me up at 4:00 p.m. instead of the Mister). Nothing like that, just something silly, but dear to me.
Okay choose your treat, hurry I have to go ;) (I can be bossy sometimes. But have you met my Dad, is the real question? Bossy central, but with lots of love)
I have to travel into the desert with my miners gear and some pirate Kiss guy this afternoon, to try to bring you some fun pics for Halloween!! I am insane, insane I tell ya. Of course, it runs in my family, so it is totally out of my control. Don't tell anyone I said that… (Mom, I wasn't talking about you, oh no, not you, hee hee. No really, it isn't about you!! I promise. Hee hee snort, laugh, chuckle. No really!)
Okay, grab a gumball and wish me luck. I am off to try to bring spooksville to this bloglette tomorrow…
Light a pumpkin candle!! And hope on all stars, that I make it out safe to tell the tale… Bwwwwahahahahaa!!!
Off to Dance, Dance Magic Dance, until I must retreat into the hills… You know, you could get some goblin ideas for last minute costumes 😉
ps: For those of you in the UK and Australia, who say you don't get to celebrate Halloween that much… I have to say, I have found more spooky places and haunted places in your neck of the woods than I can tell you about… Perhaps I should come visit and we can go on Ghostly tours?? Eeeek!!
See you here tomorrow 😉 Love, Witchy Poo V

Wow! You are too cool! My blog is seriously lacking after reading yours!! Please enter me into your drawing for the hand. Maybe if I have cooler stuff around I can grow up to be as cool as you??
I love the hand! I have the perfect spot for it if I happen to be the lucky one! Happy Halloween and may all your spooky wishes come true!
I would like the cake with the black sugar and orange gumdrop please. It looks so yummy. I can’t even imagine having all of those sweets in the house. After tomorrow all of the candy gets sent with my hubby to work.

Oh! Oh! High five me with that crazy hand!
Did you get that the same place your found your phrenology (sp?) head? I’ve always liked those. I also like the old Oriental accupressure feet.
What in the WORLD are you and Lovee going to do out in the desert? I can’t wait to see the photos.
Did your frosting every turn up? Pity. The little goblins sure like their sweets, don’t they?
muuuahhahahahah. I like the hand……

Happy Halloween miss V. I would love to be the one chosen to win that awesome hand :))))
Can’t wait to see what you have in store for tomorrow’s spooktacular fun and games.
You are so right about the spooky / haunted places, there will be ghost watchers and ghost walks all over the country tomorrow.
*sigh* everything is so pretty!
Guess what – turns out this Swedish girl who hadn’t really celebrated Halloween before OWNS A HAUNTED HOUSE and forgot to say so. A real one, a grey wooden super old house in the woods, close to where my mum lives. I’m visiting her this weekend so I’m going to take some pics.
🖤 visit me at http://www.afiori.com 🖤

Oh if only you lived closer to me…you would make my Halloween party so magical! Well, you will be an honorary…if not invisible…member of my party tomorrow.
We are watching:
Watcher in the Woods
The Lady in White
and
It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!
So, needless to say, it will be a good time. 🙂
Anyhoo, I would love to be signed up for the fabulous hand prize. What a conversation piece to add to my home!

Wow, you brought me out of my Halloween funk, and here I was all ready to take down the decorations BEFORE the blessed day! Thanks for the gumball 😉
You are rock !
And those pics are so marvelous !
Love the hand, wish to learn reading the palm !!!
THose yummy cupcake ….so delicious.
Oooh that palmistry hand is so cool! I think my faves of your photos is your sweet darling dollie, your little creatures in the background, and the glass full of tiny mushrooms! (You can just never have too many mushrooms, you never know when you will need them) hehe
(Though I think a tiny fairy came in the middle of the night and stole one of my candies, so I’ll have to take one of your gumballs)
How will you ever top your Halloween party post tomorrow?
Somehow, I know you’ll be able to. 😀
xoxo
~K
There are indeed many spooky places to come and visit in Australia. I did a murder tour a few years ago (with my Mum) on my birthday.
See the true aim of birthdays is … NO CAKE and DO SOMETHING YOU’VE NEVER DONE BEFORE. Hence the murder tour.
Ooo the hand wants to come and live with me in Australia. Talk to the hand about it *giggling*
No … seriously … talk to the hand.

Love, love, love that palmistry hand!!! Thanks much for the gumball et all! You have such wonderful adventures… I must admit I am a bit jealous!!
What an adorable post. and your writing is so wonderful Vanessa. Now how did you know how to spell Bwwwwahahahahaa? I swear when I read that word I heard a throaty kind of deep voice saying it. Congratulations, by the way, I picked up the new Arful Blogging and saw your Alice party. Can’t wait to see your post tomorrow. Karen
Well, now I said some cute things on my first comment, but it vanished in thin air. Hmmmmmmm are those little ghosties causing havoc already over at your place? Well, I do remember one comment I had written (senior moment) it was how did you know how to spell the word Bwwwwahahahahaa? When I read it, I could actually hear a deep throaty kind of spooky voice. Can’t wait to see what you post. Happy Halloween.
Karen
Ooh, I love the Queen cakes! Your decorating is fab!
🙂 Diana
Droolsome goodies! You are a very prolific creatrice…
I just gave you a wee award over on my humble blog.
Oh, what yummy goodies! I’ll be sure to stop by tomorrow sometime for some tea-time fun! 🙂
How fun, how fun, how fun! I will be back tomorrow to see what you’ve been up to. In the mean time…I must find..my..broom! teehee
Ha Ha you are (hand-ing) out so many fine
treats on your posts I cannot resist to stop by and take a gander and read about your
mystical predictions and antidotes!
Your offer of Tea and Queen cakes was
delightful and I am sure you had a (hand)
in that! Have a (hand-some-over) Halloween!
:)Please Enter me (hands down) Jewelgirl.
My, you are so busy! how do you find the time to post? My feet are killing me as I just finished hosting a amazing pumpking carving party and did not have a chance to carve my own! Oh well I’ll do that tomorrow as I munch on the pumpkin seed I roasted tonight!Happy halloween! and I’ll think of you on sunday as I teach some friends how to make tissue flowers and a reverse glass painting!
You have the neatest things in your blog posts, Vanessa! I love those cupcakes and I’ll be right over. Would you believe that I have hardly begun decorating for Halloween? All that partying made me feel a tad dissipated. Tee hee…
As soon as I saw the hand, I started looking at mine and trying to remember what is what.
If I want to make it through this day, I must find something sweet! Those goods you make look so scrumptious!
Happy Halloween to all
Who is that little blue dressed man and why did he wake you up? Is he one of those really impatient people who just won’t take no for an answer? Nice cakes thanks-avoiding the gumballs though-my teeth! I am going to buy sweets now for trick or treaters, or for me if none come! You know, the police in this area say they are banning the sale of eggs and flour to anyone under the age of 18-a leaflet with this information came through my door the other day. Sometimes I wonder about their sanity!
Happy Halloween!
How thrilling! A magical hand for Samhain!
Bewitchingly delightful..and please, please, count me in for the draw. I’ll be busy baking spiderweb cupcakes for all the wee ghoulies traipsing down my lane tonight.
Wishing you a FABULOUS Halloween Vanessa!!!
XOXO
Chris 🙂

Your magic is so wonderful!!
I think I might have to make cupcakes this weekend now. Wish I could harness some of that Halloween magick and put my hand into the computer screen and just grab one of yours.
BTW, I heart that doll in the first picture.
~Parsely, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme~

Give me hand, would ya? HA! Happy Halloween!
Hope the goblins, vampires and ghosties don’t pull too many more tricks on you. It’s enough to make one say, “BOO-hoo.” Have a happy Hallows Eve, and thanks for all the holiday merryment you spread throughout the blog-o-sphere! – Amy Bauer

Becky
WOW!! Would you look at all the comments! I love the “mystery” hand and you can put my name in for the drawing. I hope you have a great Halloween Vanessa.
P.S. I think you should market your sweet treats. They look like a bakery made them.
Tell the truth Vanessa. Did you buy them at the bakery? ha ha
Kris
EEEK! I LOVE that hand!!! What a great treasure! Now i feel the urge to pull out one of my old embroidery projects…a humongous palmistry chart-pillow….could be time to finish that up 🙂
I simply love your cupcakes…you are a baking machine (surely elf-powered?) SO glad that you are enjoying the haunting-season 🙂
V. I still think you are from another time and place. Love you…
That hand is just utterly faboo! It would really aide me in my quest to be the ultimate gypsy (caravan and everything.)
This is my first time posting on your blog so I must add that I absolutely adore your artwork and your creative mind on the whole. Where do you buy all your fabulous trinkets? I live in Tempe, you’re in Tucson am I right? Are there just better stores there?
Have a wonderful Halloween.
Hi Cute girl!!! I will happily take a Twilight Zoney other dimensional kind of spooktacular cakey wakey! Yum!! How fun!! Hope you have a fabulous Halloween and be sure to take some extra liquid refreshements with you as you venture into the fearsome desert! Bye friend! Oh and please pick me for that hand giveaway. I’ve been trying desperately to decifer the map of lines that criss cross my hands but to no avail. Just wondering what my future holds. Maybe it’s holds a hand. 😉
Oooooh I’ll take the cupcake with spiral icing please! It just sparkles at me and I can’t resist!
Do you know how many cupcakes have passed my lips since I discovered your blog only 3 weeks ago?
Shame on you for leading me into temptation! Shame!
Oh my! I love the hand!
Ooh, I love the idea of a magical cup of coffee, especially when everyone else is always talking about magical cups of tea – ha ha! I will have mine extra strong, right along with you. 🙂
Happy Halloween, and thanks for making this year’s festivities extra fun!
Hugs,
Tessa

halloween’s party is over …. wish I had your cupcakes at my party! I made some “scary food” myself and a chocolatmousse with a spiderweb, but your cakes look lovely. I wish we found stuff like that to decorate….

Inge
Yummy cupcakes, great Halloween goodies and a giveaway!!! What fun! Please enter me in the drawing. Cheers.
The hand of prophesy, it is told
Could make one’s blood turn icy cold.
Or yet, it could instead be hot, And tell of wonders as likely as not.
Would LOVE your hand !! And THANKS for the fantastical journeys.
Cynthia T.
Vanessa,
I love reading your blog posts. You are so much fun! Hugs, Bobbi Jo
Wow!!! This is an awesome post, and awesome photos!
The hand reminds me of the magic 8 ball my piano teacher gave me for good performance at the recital. ( I was 8 years old then). The hand would be a great win now in my mature years.
