Ever since my dear friend sent me this book a few years ago…
It's become my holiday tradition to open it up in a cozy spot…
I love this book.
Especially right before Christmas…
Were you an Anne of Green Gables fan?
Oh, I was (am), to the core.
Sigh…
Kindred indeed!
Oh Anne Shirley.
(blurry evening light)
A little warmth, a little fur love, a little crochet…
I have been ever so busy.
And Christmas is just right around the corner.
How did that happen?
For now, I'll cozy up on this little evening, and meet up with Anne.
And you 🙂
That tune begins (below) and I am a young girl again.
Watching Anne on PBS.
Swooning.
In my heart, there will always be a little part of me that will always be an Anne girl.
Any of you too?
Always and forever.
I swear, I could cry at the first sound of that tune…
Don't let me forget, because I have to ship it out in my next mail run to make it in time.
The winner of the Victorian Homes magazine is…
Karen Sholes!
Yay, hoooray!
Karen, please email me your mailing address, I'll contact you too 🙂
Okay, the boys need some love.
(they are being awfully quiet all of a sudden, hmmm)
Off I go, see you super soon!
Love, V
ps: Thank you all for being so kindred!! Seriously, and truly 🖤

I adore Anne – the whole entire series!!!! It’s timeless and enchanting.
You and I are kindred spirits – of this I am certain!
XOXO
Oh I love the Anne books so much–I re-read the entire series over the past few months. The Megan Follows version of Anne is great! Also have read the Emily of New Moon books.
Have never read Christmas with Anne, though. Your post gave me warm fuzzies:)))
Years ago when my daughter was 5 months old I became pen pals with a lady from Nova Scotia. She shared a couple of Anne of Greene Gables books with me. I had never read Anne. Then came the PBS series. Loved both. Many years later I went to visit my friend in Nova Scotia and then went to visit Anne’s Prince Edward Island. It was enchanting and beautiful. And my friend is still a friend and another kindred spirit.
your little fire is beautiful.
I love Anne. I reread all of the Anne books this year. I also love to read those short stories at Christmas. You might also try both the TV series and the L M Montgomery books Emily of New Moon.
I was more of a Little House on the Prarie girl myself. I can’t even remember if I ever read Anne of Green Gables. Hmmm…
Happy Winter Solstice to you, Lovee and the boys!

I too was a Little House on the Prarie girl. Although i’ve heard of Anne i don’t think i’ve read the books or seen the tv show. One day i’ll check it out. Hugs! deb
I so loved the Anne of Green Gable series on PBS starring Megan Follows. I have never read the books, something I want to do in the future. Maybe a reading goal for 2014. I’m sure the christmas stories with Anne are lovely to read.
Anne girl!💜
I always feel the need to watch the movies & read the books every few years, including the Road to Avonlea series.
I was given the books by an aunt because she said Anne reminded her of me, with our shared red hair & love of books.
You would like the Christy series too.
Nineteen year-old Christy Huddleston decides to leave a sheltered life of luxury in 1912 Asheville to serve as a teacher in a remote mission schoolhouse in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. (from the official site)
Vanessa,, I have the same slippers!! Lol..
Anne Shirley…yes, oh my!
Just the music on the movies gave me goose bumps of rapture! I think what I love best is the dresses they wore back in that era. I love dressing up in old-fashioned dresses. If I could, I would go out in public wearing those kind of dresses, even the Tasha Tudor style would be fabulous to wear around the home!
We were at an antique estate sale and they had a vintage, musical wooden music box, (yes they call them music boxes) the kind that has the tin, circular flat, round discs with punched holes and they go around like a record when they play and the sound is divine! Those music boxes also remind me of the Anne Shirley era. (One of these days I hope to find one of those musical boxes but at over $4,000 that is a bit too pricey!)
For the time being, I will have to be content to listen to the Youtube videos of those musical boxes. (I don’t have a link or I would post one).
have a blessed and merry week!
Miss Teresa
My dear Vanessa….I think you ARE Anne…you have her beauty, imagination and create such a beautiful, magical world for all of the kindred spirits that surround you. Merry Christmas Vanessa (with an “e”). Hugs,

Yes yes, I know what you are talking about. My friends have a giant
one sooo elegant, it looks like it belongs in a museum. It is about 6 feet
tall and 4 feet wide, encased in glass… amazing!!

Dearest Dear Vanessa,
Can you believe I have never read any of the “Anne of Green Gables” books or seen the show? But I might have to give them a try if they are a favorite of yours! I still go back and re-read many of my favorites from childhood too! I was a fan of “Wind in the Willows”, the Doctor Dolittle books, “The Secret Garden”, “The Twenty-One Balloons” and all of the Miss Bianca books! What treasures they are to me!
I hope you and your little family are toasty and warm in front of your little fireplace and having a wonderful holiday season!
Sending much love and hugs from The Frozen Northeast!
Betty
Miss Vanessa, I absolutely love Ann of Green Gables. The story pulls at my heart strings. It has been a while since it has been on TV, but now that you mentioned it, I am sure it will be on.
