Hello, hello! I wanted to pop in and say – Thank you, thank you ever so much for being a part of the Mad Tea Party. Whether you had your own party, or just peeked in, I thank you.
The sharing of wonderful & magical tea parties that so many of you had on your blogs left me speechless. I was so touched to see the inspiring participation. Thank you for going out of your way, and stepping into Wonderland.
It is a very special relationship we have here in the blogosphere. Where so many of us can unite and share what we love. Be our true selves, without boundaries…
I can't wait to share a tiny tea party with you again!
As many of you know, I fell ridiculously ill on Saturday as I was wrapping up my party post. I thought I had the stomach flu. But, I soon realized, I was having a dramatic dance with one of the few unpleasant parts of my life. Vertigo. I get it twice a year or so. I can't believe it visited me during the festivities.
I was trying to figure out what was making me so sick. Believe it or not, I didn't even sample any of the wee cakes I made during the week. Alas, the out of control spinning head made me realize what was visiting me. Thank goodness for my vertigo medication or I would not have been able to make visits.
I tried my very best to visit everyone. If I missed you (which I hope I didn't), please know, it was not intentional at all. I will leave the party list up until the end of this week.
I am still not 100%. I have been a noodle, partaking in things like begging to feel better while in the garden bath…
Which does make me feel so much better. The sun twinkling through the trees while monsoon clouds dance about, pretending they are going to bring rain…
Submerging your head under water, and seeing the blurred trees through bubbles. Listening to your heart actually thump, thump, thump… A garden bath might be my favorite thing in the world. Or close to it 😉
Last night a delightful friend, Miss D, came over and we chatted and cut paper flowers. Technically snowflakes, but we are calling them flowers. We made them into a banner to put up at her house for the 4th of July. She is just so much fun! I even got to have uncombed hair and wear my Little House on the Prairie attire.
Our beau's were rehearsing and when they got back, they were a ball of laughs. My studio table can turn from a square into a giant rectangle. So I extended the leafs and the boys (men) had dinner in the studio. It was so unusual to have my studio full of people chatting and laughing.
It was wonderful. Oh, and everyone modeled a marvelous hat that came in the mail yesterday from one of the sweetest people on earth, who made it herself. It was a hit Miss Cori!!
Today I had residual vertigo, and so I have been doing things in intervals between feeling good and not so good. But I tell ya, by tomorrow, I plan to be back to my normal self. I hope!

I am finishing packaging up prints etc. And then, goood stuff! I can't wait to show ya 😉
Thank you again for sharing yourselves and your whimsy. And, for sharing your lives, your time, your tea parties, and your families too (including furry family members) in many cases. Thank you for a magical Mad Tea Party, 2009. Partying like it was 1865 was a blast because of you!
🖤,V

Oh you poor thing…what a way to spend party week!
I do hope you feel 100% soon. Of course I am still amazed at what you do when you are not feeling 100%.
That hat looks divine!
Thank YOU for hosting such a wonderful event and making us all visit our own little place of whimsy too!
I can not wait for the next tea party either!
Kiss Noises Linda
Oh! How perfectly horrid to get stuck with vertigo whilst madly tea partying. I’m pleased to hear that you feel better and are almost back up to snuff. It was a grand party, I must say, and I had a simply marvelous time.
Thank you for hosting, as I was trying to visit everyone who kindly visited me, I thought to myself, “I do not know how Vanessa manages to get all this done!” You are a marvel, that’s what you are. 🙂
i think i have had that before but didnt know you could get something to cure it. get better soon!! thanks for hosting the best party this year.

Dearest V~~
I hope you are feeling very well grounded and not all residual when you read this, eeps!
That tea party. WOWIE. I was just a teeny bit nervous about project:tea (I have only been a bloggy girl for a month!), but then, you make everything so fun, and all the twinklestars in bloglandia are so encouraging, i just had to had to had to give it a go!
And i am glad I did! Everyone is so friendly, and creative and imaginative and brilliant!
I enjoyed all the different interpretations, learned some new things, *and* made some very cool friends along the way.
I think its fabulous that through visiting your world, you inspired so many people to play! And then, so many (including you while spinning right round!)took time to visit (hopefully almost) every hatter’s party, and left very thoughtful comments. I’m hooked, am I!
SO THANK YOU MS V for perservering even under the ickiest of circumstances. I think I speak for many people when i say utterly and completely, love ya bunches!!
PS Is Halloween the next blow out is it is it huh huh is it? 🖤

Hi there, dear Vanessa! I am sorry to hear you were dizzy from vertigo. HOw awful! I hope you didn’t get too dehydrated while focusing so much on your art and blogging!
I hope you are feeling better soon.
Thank you for hosting the fabulous Mad Tea Party. I thoroughly enjoyed my visits through all the partying! It was great fun! I even won an apron from Chrisy at “Sophism Press”! Woo Hoo!!! 🙂
How terrible that you’ve been having vertigo – especially during the party in which YOU are the hostess!!! I hope you are feeling 100% better today and wish you the best!
Thank you so much for hosting the amazing Mad Hatter Tea Party. It was (and IS… because I have not been to ALL of them yet, there are SOOO many) so so so much fun! There is no better way to discover new blogs than through a common interest – ALICE!!
🙂 Thank you, Vanessa!
Swirling and creating such a wonderful party, all that magic and fun, it is no wonder you feel like you went through something dizzying straight out of a Harry Potter book!!! Hee hee. I wish you well, with bells on dear. For even angels like you need a break here on Earth, so thanks for being hostess to one of the most amazing things I have experienced in my short seven months having this blog.
Appreciatively,
Amy Sperry Faldet
Vanessa,
I am so so sorry that I was not able to participate in the tea party like I had planned to, I even had a wee bit of a start! But all to soon, we had to leave for an out of state emergency trip to see family. I really hope to be able to participate in the next one!
Kim
observations and imaginations (but I took it down in a hurry so it’s no longer there!! what to do! what to do!)
I didn’t get to participate but I did enjoy visiting here and others. I was so curious as to what they will come up with and I wasn’t disappointed. Everybody was really amazing! My little heart was jumping with joy.
Thanks for paving the way. We really need a dose of magic once in a while 🙂
Now you rest and feel better.
I hope that you feel all better soon!
I blogged about the tea party aftermath, lol, but I had to come here and thank you so very much for hosting this fabulous event!
I signed up right before party day on a lark, really having no idea what to expect and I tell you what, Saturday was the most fun ever! It was such a treat attending everyone’s party and I just loved it! I’m already making plans for next year’s party! lol
Feel better!
I know you’ll be feeling better by tomorrow and be your normal self! Know how? Because I’m sending magical ‘get well wishes’ your way. Such a bummer that you had to fall ill during your party and no treats, oh my…that is no good V. We had such a lovely time partaking in your tea party…’Mad’ indeed 😉 I am still trying to visit many I haven’t been able to hit them all quite yet, but I hope to by the end of the week…whew wee! Thank you again for hosting such a wonderful time…now go rest up and be better.
Jamie 🙂
p.s. so fun that you got to ‘share’ your studio with friends and eat in there too!
i hope you get to feeling like your old self soon.

I’m a frequent lurker (daily!) but an infrequent commenter. just wanted to say again that i love your blog- it’s so pretty- such a fun escape and….
i hope you feel better.
Is impossible for me to guess how your photo looks like that special way … But I like! And all of your paint job! And what you write …
A hug from Chile.
Vilma.
I am so sorry to hear that you had another bout of Vertigo…my Mother also has episodes of Vertigo and it is no fun.
The Party was wonderful…we had a great time…Solange and my Mother have already planed next years party…my Mother is hosting.
Thank you my dear Vanessa xoxox
What a wonderous time! What a fabulous group of magical gals came a visiting me! Thanks for hostessing, pretty lady, despite your not feeling too well. I’m still enjoying the whimsy (since I fell completely WITHOUT internet access on Saturday. Let me tell you what a frenzy I was in!)
**hope your feeling better Miss Vanessa!**
Feel better soon!
Sorry to hear your not feeling well, maybe more sparkle dust and I could lend you my pink wings, hope you are back to normal quick. Thanks for visiting my bug parade, I don’t dress up that much anymore, but because of you and all your wonderful outfits, I’m wearing my fairy dresses and costume garb more!!!
Karey
Oh dear! I hope you’re feeling better by now.
Oh, Love, do feel better soon. I just have to tell you again how magical your tea party was…and so different from last years and equally as stunning. LoVe the hat Cori made for you! Devine! Cori is one of my besty cyber friends! **blows kisses** Deborah
Oh no! Nasty vertigo…I hope it passes soon. I had such a lovely party and was stunned by the response…I was also totally blown away by all the fantastic creativity out there! I couldn’t stop looking, no matter how tired my eyes got…everyone did such a fantastic job this year!! Thank you thank you…
I’m very sorry you’ve been feeling so badly! Don’t worry about other things, just take care of yourself!
xo
Vanessa I hope you are feeling better soon! Sorry you were so ill on your special day!!! My computer’s up and running again (knock on wood), and I’ve just finished posting my party there if you’d like to come visit xo
Vanessa, I had a fun time with the Tea Party to be sure. And right after the party I got floored with some type of stomach bug…..probably too many cupcakes or something like that!
Hope you feel better too! And thanks for including me in all the fun.
Oh, and I’m setting up an Etsy for a few of the photos from the party here in Prescott! Think we’ll be doing other fun stuff soon on the Courthouse Square……. (the dots are for suspense).
I love that-partying like it was 1865! That is 100 years before I was born so I am 143! My God I look good! Vertigo is horrible-I used to know someone with that. Hope you are feeling much better now. Thank you for hostessing such a lovely party and I can’t wait till next year! Your crafty time with your friend and then lovely studio evening sounds great!
Take care,
Sarah x
feel well miss v….
the hand of your inspiration was evident every where my blog hopping landed me.
it took me at least five days to get through it all with persistence (and not a little blogging when i shouldn’t…teehee!)
i tried valiantly to comment on every single blog i stopped at…i may have missed a few but i did try! it was so much fun…i had no idea what it would entail.
bummer that i missed placing my order from your sale…but i will be sending you the “market research” i conducted for you asking for the favorite prints from your shop…might be useful to you!
do take good care. we need your shining light back soon {some of us more than you know}
enjoy the day!
xoxo
e
It was a spectacular party! Thank you again and get some rest! I love your pretty flowers and wish I was close enough to join in the fun!
I hope you get to feeling better soon. I’ve had vertigo before. It can be a really weird feeling, I know.
I loved looking at all the photos of the party. It looks like you had a lot of fun.
Thank YOU so much for coming up with the idea and inviting all of us to share it with you! It was such a fun thing to do, and such a great way to bring everyone together. I am sorry that you have been sick, but I’m glad that you’re recovering.
JO
Vanessa:
The tea party photos are so beautiful. I didn’t sign up, as my mom’s health had been declining so rapidly, I knew I couldn’t make the commitment to participate. My mom passed away on June 22nd.
I sympathize with you and your vertigo. I have an ear condition called “Benign Positional Labyrinthitis”. I always have little spells of dizziness and I take a daily “cocktail” to relieve the spins. But…once every couple of years, I get a really bad bout and the meds won’t help. My world spins completely out of control and I’ll spend the next 12 hours with my head in a bucket!
I’m glad that you’re feeling better.
Kim
Garden Painter Art
Yippeeee!!
Glad to see your back 🙂 Have a great rest of the week Miss V!!
Kylee
p.s. Will Camilla Nightgale soon be a print????
Apparently I can’t spell today…
I meant Camellia Nightingale
Oh Vanessa I hope you get better soon! I had vertigo quite a bit in my 20’s (wait that makes me sound old 😉 I’m only 32!, my early 20’s!) & it made me batty! Poor thing!
Sending you some magical wishes so awful vertigo BE GONE!
Hope you can enjoy this amazing AZ day 🙂
Denise
IT WAS SUCH A MAGICAL PARTY…. I ENJOYED VISITING ALL THE MAD FOLKS… I AM STILL CATCHING UP WITH THEM ALL…
GLAD YOU ARE FEELING A WEE BIT BETTER…. AND HOPE YOU ARE BACK TO YOUR WONDERFUL CHEERY SELF SOON
LOTS OF HUGS
JO
Your such a Dear, Sweet Victorian Cupcake girl! 🙂 I do hope you feel better soon (much less a noodle, and more a gypsy princess!!) 🙂
Thank You for hosting such a beautiful Tea Parteee!! Your amazing!! 🙂
Miss Vanessa, the party was amazing. I’m glad to hear you are feeling so much better after being under the weather.
Thank you for bring some magic into our lives.
Hugs Karen
I am so sorry you had a vertigo spell! My son Parker is 2 and he gets vertigo really bad. He actually had one of his “spells” last week. It usually takes him a good 3 days to get back to normal. So sad.
The Tea Party was awesome! I can’t wait for another one!!
I had so much fun. And I hope you enjoy nice, long, soaks in the tub (le swoon). And I really do like that monsoon sky. We had a lot of rain here a few weeks ago, but as long as I’m not doing a show outdoors, I quite like the rain!
Vanessa,
I am sorry to hear that you have Vertigo. I hope that you continue to mend. Your party was wonderful and the thank you is to you for inspiring such imaginative play.
I can’t wait for the reveal.
Stay well,
Karen
I’m so sorry you couldn’t truly enjoy your hard work this year 🙁 Next year will be grand, though! I had a great time because of your genius idea, Vanessa. Thank you! You have brought delight to the blogosphere!
Miss V,
Hope you get back to your normal self soon. Vertigo is NO FUN!! (well, maybe for five minutes or so when it is self induced from twirling 😉 Love the idea of your garden bath!! I was thinking I need one, however, even though I live on .9 acres, I still have a couple of neighbors. Hmmm… I see a lovely hedge or two in my future!!
Peace to you!
Well, Missy, from one Dizzy Broad to another, I feel your vertigo. Although I haven’t had a bout in over a year (which means I’m due), I can still vividly remember the Nasty Spins.
I’m glad you found some relief. A garden bath? Methinks I might try that next time I have a spell – although it might just freak out the neighbors! 🙂
xoxo
Kate
Oh Miss Vanessa! I do believe you came upon a wicked case of vertigo from falling down into that rabbit hole, perhaps??? All that spinning around surely released the vertigo gnomes. Next time, we will drop a ladder down that rabbit hole and gingerly step down it instead of spiralling!! I had a tea party at my home last weekend with my sister and I thank you for the inspiration for fun, frock and fantasy!!! You are just the hostess with the mostess and I adore your words, photos and perspective of life! I wish you steady days ahead!! : )))
xxoo
VB
I hope you’re feeling better soon. You’re party gave me the opportunity to go back and play make believe again, it was so much fun and I can’t wait until next year!
i am sending healing energy to you…i so enjoyed every minute of the tea party…i danced till dawn…the parties were joyous and the food divine…but the tea was amazing…hugs and blessings to our hostess and all the participants…r
Lady V, I’m glad you are on the mend. Do take care and maybe rest some more this week. It was truly a mad and creative tea party.
Taking a garden bath sounds like a new way to heal and romantic. Sending you much love and kisses.
Now this is what happens when you take one to many turns in the spinning tea cups.
So sorry it had to hit you in the middle of your party wrap-up. Not Fair.
The rest of us truly enjoyed a rather Magical, Enchanting time visiting with you and so many creative unique talents like yourself.
Can’t wait for your next adventure.
Take care and please get out of the teacup soon.
I soooo love browsing your blog! You have such an enchanting place here, and you look like too much fun! 🙂
Hugs,
Christina
O Fanciful One I do hope you’re feeling better soon, but you must stay away from that nasty old moon. For it circles round and round you see and is probably responsible for you falling to your knee(s).All in all the party was LOVELY!!! Just like you!!!
Oh look!! The ribbon matches Mrs. Hall-B.’s eyes ;-).
xoxo Cori
Do feel better soon sweet friend.
P.S. I saw Darling Deb’s comment up above…I do so adore her!!! Thank you for sharing her with me!!!!
Please get better real soon! I too missed the festivites. I was not in great shape on Saturday either. But hopefully I’ll get the chance to visit everyone!!
I’m so sorry you’ve been suffering with vertigo. That has to be the worst!
I love your tea party and especially the children. Please have the Mad Hatter back next year. He was quite a hit.
~elaine~
So sad you didn’t get to enjoy the party quite as much as the rest of us! Although I have to say somehow vertigo seems an appropriate affliction for a member of a mad tea party. I’m sure that is what they get in Wonderland instead of the flu! Hope you are feeling better and thanks so much for such a lovely party!
What this world needs:
MORE Mad Tea Parties.
FEWER stomach flus!
Hope you’re feeling better! Thanks for a wonderful blog party 😉
Miss Vanessa! Thankyou sooo much for your sweet words! And for taking the time to come to my party too! Especially since you have been feeling yucky!
I soooo hope you are continuing on the upside of well because all your posts are so magical to read. I swear you make walking to the mailbox a beautiful adventure. All your descriptions are so fun and detailed I almost feel like I am there!!!
xoxo Sheri DeBow
Oh please be un-sick, Miss Vanessa! We all want you to be well!
And thank you so very much for hosting such an inspirational party and also for visiting mine!! I was so honored that you got to come see it! I had fun putting it together!
I have to tell you that as late as Tuesday, I still had people visiting and one of the last comments said what an amazing thing it was that two days later, it was still going on! The Blogoshere is an amazing place isn’t it?
Again thank you and hope you are well soon!
Betty
I just found your blog and I am sorry you are sick. But I love the post of photos.
They inspired me, even through your sickness.
Thanks for sharing.
Katelen
Hope you’re feeling much better very soon.
Lovely, lovely tea party, Miss V.
I’ll never get over Wonderland – Carroll’s stories were some of the first books I read (and had read to me). The movie versions have always been such fun and inspiration.
And coming next spring…Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter in the Tim Burton film – can’t wait!
i missed this! this is what comes of feeling too sorry for myself and my hay fever – i do hope you are feeling more the thing now. there is nothing worse than being out of sorts in the summer. i dont know why, it seems to taunt us even more than in winter.
such beautiful images, as always.
i wish i could simply pop over and make papery delights!
I hope you feel better today! I’ve been so busy and still haven’t made all my rounds yet to all the wonderful parties out there. Yikes! Thank you so much for hosting and get well soon!
As I journeyed through Five Rooms I came upon a garden right in the middle of the dining room! How delightful! And in it’s midst was a tea party still going on. So glad you could visit. Sorry about the vertigo!! My son has that too!! Very bad; so sad!! Hope you are feeling on top of things by now. My journey now continues onto the next room to see what I may find.
Hugging you gently
SueAnn
we send a hug to you over the wires and lines of the internet (or the InterWeb as my mother-in-law calls it). so sorry to hear about the vertigo, but your blog was quite spectacular regardless! I missed you at my own party, and hope you’ll have a chance to drop by.
powdered sugar and air kisses,
the kitchen goddess.
You are amazing Miss V to manage to visit us all with your vertigo…you just have to be the sweetest lady in all of the blogosphere…we love you! xoxo Shannon
I totally want a garden bath. I love taking baths, and that sounds so amazing to me.
I’m glad I discovered your blog, and had fun at the Tea Party. Thank you for hosting!! Can’t wait until next years!
Feel better!
Thannnnnnnnnnnkyou for a wonderful party…I just love reading your blog,it is full of positivity in an often negative world.x
Vanessa, I hope so much that you are feeling all well today! Twyla
I’ve been a dizzy dame a time or two. I know it’s no fun! Take care and get better soon. The only time the room should be spinning is when you’ve been dancing, have had a really good margarita or well…you can finish the sentence.
Thank you for the oh so fun party!!
Oh Vanessa, I do hope you are feeling better! My best friend suffers with Vertigo every now and then as well, and it seems truly terrible… Keep taking those garden baths! They seem marvelous!
Lots of Love. Danielle
Thank so much a ti!! my creative friend!
I love your amazing Mad Tea Party!
Hope you get back to your normal self soon.
big hugs!
Dolores y Josefina loved your party!
they love you!
Marina

Sandra Evertson
I finally got my mad tea party photos up…please come see them…
Poor thing! 🙁 I do hope you feel better soon!
Were you able to make your way to my party? It is a video…I thought of you as I was costuming my little white rabbit and hoped you would get a giggle out of her. 🙂
Whenever you are feeling better, we’d love to have you…we are just about to move down a seat for a new cup…
🙂
Mere
P.S. The are so many parties that I’m only to the D’s myself! :0
Oh dear one, I’m so terribly sorry you fell ill at party time
(and scary horseback riding story! A fall like that is something you never forget *shudders*
I’m glad the vertigo doesn’t bring you down often, I have migraines (and teach junior high art lol! what a combo!) so I understand a bit of the frustration of that wave of nothingness coming to pull you away from life till it passes
Thank you for your inspiration, the Tea Party is magical… and look at all the party goers you inspired. Its as if we all had our cups ready waiting for your siren call!
*hugs*
