I have so many secrets to tell you. A big book of faces I spend my time with. Tales they share. Songs they have me writing…
However, for the last two months, I have gotten really close to a special little gal…
Her name?
Violetta…
I meet her for tiny tea, deep in the forest, in a little clearing…
In the most beautiful flower garden, right outside of her cottage.
She is always dressed beautifully, and…
She fills my ears with the most charming tales I have ever heard.
She has a bevy of furry friends who gather round to listen to our chatter…
And sometimes, sometimes I have to wonder…
If she isn't Snow White herself…
It has been a lovely time spent with her…
But now, it's time for her to find a new home, and ears that will be dazzled with her tales…

Also, I shan't leave without exclaiming Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!
The gang was so excited to wave at you today!
As for tales of lore around here…
A teeny tiny leprechaun hat was on Mister Lovee's pillow when he awoke.
What luck, don't you think?
Then the hat turned up in the kitchen, waiting for me.
But then, it popped back onto Mister's chest of drawers.
And when he left for work, it magically was sitting atop a sweet potato –
waiting for me again…
;)
Oh oh, and I am tickled neon green to see all the photos I have received about folks making my shamrock pins. What fun!
Now, whatever shall I make for dinner?
Green potatoes?
Fried green tomatoes??
What are you doing?
Any green munching?
Or sipping?
Perhaps,
corned beef and cabbage at your house?
ps: Jamiekins' creations arrived just in the nick of time (lightning shipping)!! Hooray!

i’m particularly taken with Violetta’s collar, and her winsome hair =]
Erin Go Bragh!
What a lovely painting!! I love her tiny tiny little tea set, how cute!!! I am going to make some yummy mini meatloafs, maybe some green mashpotatoes! And something green for a sweat treat tonight..I better get working on it..it’s 6pm here..
This is Vanessa (A Fanciful Twist)
There used to be a comment here that I have deleted.
It was left by a very rude and toxic woman, who I don’t even know.
I am deleting it because this blog space is my virtual home, and is incredibly dear to me. And, I would never allow a person to stand in my physical home and spew hatred at me, so I have decided I won’t be letting anyone do that here either.
I don’t know how people have the energy to be rude and mean, or why they would even care to go out of their way to leave a cruel comment? But, that is truly their problem.
With everything going on in the world, you would think people would reassess how they treat others.
I am sorry for anyone who had to read that negativity.
I am so deeply grateful for the kind notes left. It means more to me than I can say.
Love, V
ps: Also, as an FYI – when a person leaves any comment on a blog, an IP address to that comment can be seen by the blog owner. Through the IP address the blog owner can often find where the locale is of the person leaving the comment, and who the service provider is. If a comment is left from work, it might even list the name of a person’s employer. That coupled with an e-mail address, makes it incredibly easy to determine who the person is that is bothering you.
The internet is not as anonymous as people might think…
This is good info to know, in a case where a person might feel serisouly harassed and needs to contact the authorities.
This comment above by Connie is an absolute disgrace. People are so mean!!!
I hope…no, i KNOW you will sell your wonderful painting very soon. The print I have from home is a real treasure that brightens the room up! I wish I could afford an original.
xo
She is oh so pretty and cool.
I want to have fika with her but I’d be nervous and adjust my hair and clothes a thousand times.
I eat my greens every day and today I almost had some greenish blue watercolour water as well since it was next to my coffee.
I was going to go OFF on Connie the Caustic Commentor but she needs no press.
She is not worth it……
oh by the way V….Violetta is GORGEOUS, as always – it goes without saying! XOXOXO
Miss Violetta is such a beautiful lady, and knowing she was created by such a lovely gal makes her seem all the more special! I love the eyes of all your ladies, and the colors are really sooo pretty. You brighten my day, Miss V., and I love your sweet spirit. This spot where I can visit you leaves me feeling like I have been somewhere very special, and it is important to me that you know that, dear one! Big hug.
Lo, who left the screen door open? It seems a nasty vermin has found her way in somehow.
Well you know what they say…rude people suck.
As for Violetta, she is wonderful and perfect and worth every penny. If it weren’t for your cheery artwork all over my house I think my world would be that much drearier.
Connie, or whoever is dressed up as her…get a life.
Violetta is definitely a princess. Such glorious colors for the background and I love the color of her dress…some of my favorite colors together. Her eyes are amazing…as always it is the eyes you paint that draw a person ‘into’ the picture. Absolutely divine!
I forgot to wear green today! Bad me!
No Leprechaun gold for me! Jamie’s creations from ‘A Forest Frolic’ are so sweet! Perfect for the occasion.
I used to buy the divinity Irish ‘potatoes’ at See’s Candy at this time of year. They would take a large potato shaped piece of divinity and roll it in powdered cocoa and put tiny slivers of walnuts sparsely placed on the ‘potato’ to look like ‘potato’ eyes. Yummmm!
I love this time of year as Spring is right around the corner.
Cheerio! ‘Top of the evenin’ to you’
Miss Teresa
I love Violetta especially the depth of color in the background. Your paintings always create a narrative that makes you want to learn more about the subject.
I adore the painting that I recently purchased and feel blessed to have your work in my home!
And Connie has no clue about the ‘real world’ of Vanessa Valencia. The hard facts are: you Do sell your paintings at those prices…where did she come from anyway?
Vanessa, please tell us what happened with the budgy. Is he OK? I ‘m so terribly worried about him, he is so vulnerable. The “poop” lady, Jackie
Violetta has beautiful eyes. The colors on the painting are marvelous! Love the party with the cute hats!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day Vanessa!
Oh how I do love her and wish wish wish I could snag Violetta for my eldest!! She’s just perfect. Beautiful work. I am so inspired by you!
Ohhh Miss V…I so love Miss Violetta she is so magical & enchanting ~ could she bee a wee bit Irish with those green eyes..I bet she must have had tea with many ~ from lepruchans to fairies to Royalty… she truly is a forest princess in diguise…it’s only those who beelieve in this magic can see her beauty.. thank you Mizz V for having her as a guest for tea for all of us to meet her, she is a pure & lovely beauty…have a honey of a night ~ sweet dreams! peace, joy, love & many blessings 2 U, love Marlene aka mIzZ bEe .. .. .. ;O) xox
Happy ST. Patrick’s Day Vanessa,
I am loving that new painting of yours. You always have such a happy post to visit.
Karen
Omg I love Violetta!!! She is sooooo beautiful! I would buy her right now if I had the money. 😀 Beautiful! Have a wonderful weekend!
Maria
I just posted about a St. Patty’s Day tea over in my little corner of the world too! Well I guess yours was more of a tea party, and then St. Patty’s, but still…..
I love Violetta. Something about her lovely eyes is just so intriguing. And you know I adore a good tea party! You’ve done it again Miss V!
ps. Connie needs to get the heck out of here! First of all, rude. Second of all, why are you even reading this blog if you aren’t a Vanessa fan? Bad form I say.
I don’t know who that Connie person is, but clearly, she is jealous… Anyone who says ugly things like that is just showing off how ugly they are on the inside… We can’t take comments like that personally, they aren’t about us, they about her… Connie is 1) jealous of your creative genius, 2) can’t make artwork of her own and has a stupid job that she hates, 3) could never put her ideas out there for the world to see, because she is afraid of jackasses just like her. Her comment is a reflection of what a wretched person she is… how horrible to live the rest of her life being a nasty person like herself.
Your artwork is amazing. I think you price it too low, given the detail and amount of time you put into it. I am not an artist, but I can make clothing, and if that takes time and effort, I can only imagine what your work requires.
Connie should take a long walk off a short pier, and I bet no one would miss her…
I do love violetta, and the little tea set is just adorable. and I love the st patrick pins. I didnt make anything, but I did have a wee tipple of the Jamesons Irish whisky to celebrate my Irish roots and as it was a new bottle hubby had to join me. Hugs Sara
Oh Vanessa, I think Violetta is wonderful. I love her eyes and the details on the tea set are amazing. I cherish each and every piece of your art that I own. I realize how much time and work go into them and they are worth every penny I spent.
My mom was a lady and one of the things she passed along was if you don’t have something good to say to someone, say nothing at all. Hugs to you and the boys.
i agree with Charlene. I didnt read the comment (glad to say) but people are so spiteful because they are jealous of your originality, humour, colour and being talented. She will get her’s for being like that. What goes around comes around….. we love you. hugs xxx
don’t worry! we love you!!!
ooooh! Tiny Tea!!!! loveeerly indeed! And methinks I want to braid my hair like her’s!! So prettttty!! Happy almost Weekendling time to you, Dearie!!!
Oh, lovely! And, of course, I have quite a weekness for that name. The eentsy weensy tea set is great.
And stupid people are just stupid people.
I’m sure she’ll feel ashamed of saying that later if she doesn’t already. People don’t say such nasty things unless they feel really bad about themselves.
Keep being your wonderful self!
You have oodles and poodles of support out here.
Love,
Laura
I ran across your blog around two years ago. I fell in love with your art. You inspired me to open my own etsy shop. Julia
Some people are angry and mean. I believe in Karma and positive energy. I believe in if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all. I believe we should be kind to each other. And I feel bad for this “connie” person. She goes out of her way to be mean and rude. That’s really sad. There is no room for mean thoughts and comments here or anywhere else in our world. I love coming here to your blog. It always makes me smile and happy. Everyone here is so sweet, kind and supportive!! Keep up the lovely work:)
Your painting is wonderful. TFS
I didn’t see the comment but NieNie’s sister, CJane & her husband used to take a rude comment left on their blog & make fun of it on their weekly “Best Vlog Ever” video…..I have never laughed so hard in my whole life! He would read it in his theatrical voice (he’s an actor) and she would act it out. Then, of course, more rude comments would follow (usually from the same person)……she is now a columnist for a newspaper so the meanness only propelled her to greatness.
You are immensely talented & have a sweet soul…..we’ll help you run “Connie” out of town……..
I feel only positive energy now and the comment has acquired no energy. Great job, friend. May you hug all you love and the sun shine on your day. Blessings and love, Amy
Vanessa You handled this well. The world is a better place when we live in harmony. The golden rule is a lesson well learned and we must strive for. Please continue to bring forth your talents that are pleasing to so many.
Let us live, laugh and love!
It is from your heart that beauty flows through your fingertips. Tomorrow is another day. Smile On! <3
Dear Vanessa, I LOVE your new painting. What a true beauty Violetta is. 🙂 That tiny tea set is way too adorable!!! 🙂 I hope you had a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day and got to make some delectable cupcakes using Miss Jamie’s super cute toppers!
Now, onto another topic. I am SOOOO truly sorry that you received some negativity here in your comments. And I applaud you for the comment you left here in return. I use a captcha verification and get to approve any comments before they are printed on my blog. One day, last year, I received such an AWFUL comment that pretty much left me in tears. It was meant to hurt, and it did. It was left anonymously – but I know who it was. It is kind of disheartening that some people feel the need to share their negativity and try to take the light away from people who shine (like you!). I am glad it only affected you briefly – remember who you are and that there are VERY many who know and love you! xoxo Theresa
Oh yay, the toppers got there in time (thanks for the linky love)! And BOO to the negative commenter, but glad you aren’t letting her hold you down.
Violetta is precious…love the colors, I’d love to have her join my Vanessa collection!!
Hugs to you my dear friend…keep your head up and keep being you, we love you!
Jamie 🙂
Am glad you’ve deleted it. Good on you girl!
I also have access to a stats count and it is true, people are not aware that every single of their visit leaves a trace like a finger print. I know all the downloads, where they are etc…it is fun sometimes! I feel like a spy…he!he!
Spread the love V!!!! Love is stronger!
XO
Hi Vanessa, I came on to leave you a comment because although it’s a been a while since I have gotten the chance to visit your blog, as always, I was enchanted by the magic it seems to hold. I really love the Violetta piece, I love tea party themes and love the work you do to incorporate them. As I was scrolling down I saw notes saying that someone left you a nasty comment, I don’t know what they said but I’m sorry that some stranger felt the need to be so rude. You are a very creative and magical person and I appreciate you sharing such personal experiences of your life here on your blog. 🙂
I love those shamrocks. How wonderful to see how people are interpreting your design.
Hey! Congrats on your new painting! As one who has several of your paintings about, plus postcards and stickers and goodies I’ve sent to friends, I know how your work brightens everything. In fact, my sweetie got you as a gift from me and often my choice of arty gifts is looked at kind of oddly, but your owl is in a featured place in our home and a cherished gift of love. Just didn’t want you to forget about that.
I love those shamrocks. I want to make some, even though it’s almost April! Thanks for your free downloads and gifties.
xo
you know, I just noticed your long comment (I don’t usually read comments, or if I do, I wait until after I’ve already blabbed because I can’t control myself), about the deleted comment. What the hell?! This is an old post so I think I can probably speak freely here.
Who does that person think she’s fooling?! I once had my own business, and I would get calls from others in my own field, saying either that I was charging too much or charging too little or offering too many services. And you know why they were saying that? Because the weren’t satisfying people or they were lazy. They just couldn’t cut it in the field and they thought no one should be competing with them. Just JUNK thinking! I’m sure that person was using a pseudonym.
The whole effing point of creating things and bringing beauty into the world is to CREATE THINGS and bring more BEAUTY INTO THE WORLD. Not to make scads of money or be the BEST or WIN over someone else or MEASURE A PERSON’S WORTH by what other people think of them! It’s to live, express, share, and have self-worth enough to sometimes call for recompense for all your hard work and imagination. Not to keep someone else down. It’s total BS, as far as I’m concerned. I’m glad that sort of small mindedness doesn’t show its face more often. We’d have to start kicking some ass.
the great thing about you is, you won’t let that crap slow you down.
xox
Chris
p.s. could I get a discount ?
ahahAHAAHAA!!!

I follow you VIA GFC and I love your blog!
