I had everything I was going to share today, ready-set-go, when things took a twist in a different direction. Fancy that?
You see, I had dinner with Easter Fairies (my beloved parents), and my lovely brother. Which floated me onto a billowing wave of Easter picnic land desires, surrounded by all things peacefully delightful…
The perfect spot (under the giant apricot tree) beckoned me to change my day – and spend it in a way, that my soul truly needed.
I filled a picnic basket with treats and more – and curtsied, whilst asking my beau to join me on the earthen floor…
Join me, he did, to enjoy the delights…
The apricot tree has lost all his flowers (I shared them last week), and lovely green leaves are slowly filling his branches, shading us every so perfectly…
We nibbled our lunch -
And sipped our coffee, while chatting and playing with our furry children…
Then, we sort of wilted away. The breeze was getting quite chilly, so I packed up the basket, and thanked Mister for being my guest. Then I wrapped him up in our picnic quilt, so he could take a short rest…
Under the giant apricot tree is where I left him, bundled up – in the company of the cutest wee pup…
Next, we shall prepare, for a quiet little Easter Sunday (we share Passover and Easter in our home). As a little boy sulks about his Easter attire…
I do think Mister Matty looks dashing, but he doesn't really agree. I am sure he would rather be wearing army boots on his feet, all 4. He ran away after this photograph, as he has learned to open the front door… (oh, he just popped in to visit me, and I told him I was just talking about him, tee hee)
So, for now, I am eagerly awaiting the chance to open my enormous Easter basket, created by beloved Mombie herself, my own personal Easter Fairy… (Of course, I worriedly asked if the outrageous size meant no more Easter baskets in the future. And her response was, Oh, I actually wanted to make it bigger, but I ran out of time 😉 ~ This is the woman that gave me life, what a gal)
Goodness me! (of course, we know that Easter is about more than treats. My parents instilled the reason behind the holidays and our beliefs, just as profoundly as one can imagine, so I thank them for that with much love)
Although, Mombie, being the instigator of pure mischief, urged me to peek. And, oh my! My knees did go weak 😉
I am sure I will have to call the dentist in the next week, as I have pains in my teeth from eating so many sweets (even though I brush oodles of times a day)…
Anyhow, lest I babble your eyeballs off, I think it is time to say ~
🖤 May you have a super safe and wonderfully special Easter Sunday 🖤
(Mombie gave me two little chicks. She said that one is me, and one is Mister Lovee. The one above is supposedly me, haha)
Off I go, and I promise to share what I had originally planned for today, early next week ~
🖤 ,V
ps: It is night-time in the studio, and I found these (ears)! I never know what I am going to find in there. So hilarious, don't you think? Or maybe, just plain ole silly 😉

Had to compensate by wearing bunny ears because I forgot all my clothes! Happy Easter!! Love the bunny in the basket.
p.s. I didn’t mean I’m not wearing any clothes. Gah. But I forgot my luggage…
Wow, what a wonderful post….and very colorful and cherry too. It must be fun digging through all of your never ending supply of goodies in your workshop. I would love to take a look myself. Enjoy.
Your picnic looked like pure delight! So does the Easter basket. I’m sure your mombie knows just the special treats to make you smile. Have a happy Easter! Twyla
You look cute in your ears…and the baby chick is precious! What a beautiful lunch and your basket? Awesome! I have not had an Easter basket since I was a kid….too many years ago. I am going to remember that and next year make one up just for fun! Will you remind me? heehee! Enjoy your weekend! 🖤
Oh Vanessa, I am always so happy when I visit your little spot in the desert… I have been a bit blue lately, after some not~so~nice comments from some of the “few” not~so~nice bloggers out there about my posts… I love seeing your little picnic with your Mr. Lovee under your gorgeous sprawling apricot tree… it reminded me of a pretty song, from very long ago, that my daddy used to sing to my mama when they were so young and so in love called “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree With Anyone Else But Me”… in your case, it is your magnificent apricot tree… your little lunch looks so yummy… and I love little Matty in his Easter attire… does your Baby dress up too? Your Easter basket from your sweet mama Easter Fairy is beautiful, how fun everything looks! Wishing you and Mr. Lovee and your sweet fur babies a most blessed and beautiful Easter… xoxo Julie Marie and the Fairywing Sisters
I love your adventures! The lunch looks so delish ~ wish I had it right this minute as I am starving. Thanks so much for sharing all the beauty! Oh, and the basket is divine…she is incredible isn’t she?

Happy Easter, Lady V. I have a secret to share too, my mom still gives me an Easter Basket too. Moms are the best.
That is one FINE Easter basket, girlie! Feast!! I a m laughing that Matty ran away after the photo shoot. Hee hee! you are so funny!
Happy Easter Vanessa!
The other day we had some rare and truly warm sunshine (for this time of year) and I just LONGED to wrap myself in a blanket and fall asleep in the grass where I’d soon be covered up by two cats and a silly old dog. But alas…I had too too much work to do.
OH I LIKE THOSE EARS!!! When I was a wee girl I dreamed of growing up to be a playboy bunny until I found out what playboy bunny’s did, but weren’t their little costumes sweetolicious? Yes, me thinks so too!!!
And speaking of sweetolicious, your pic-nic lunch looks to divine for words…LUCKY MISTER!!!!!
Oh! The little lady on my post: such a sweet wee thing she must have been to risk her life in such a way. Just think, one of those little children could have been related to your Mister Lovee. Such beauty came from her life ;-).
Happy Easter my Beloved Fanciful Friendling.
xoxo Cori
Happy Easter Vanessa and loved ones !
The picnic looks so attractive : I wish I could be there. Here, spring is coming but one moment the sun shines, the other moment it pours rain…
What a nice easter package you got from your mom. Treasure her…
I spotted a key from Alice in wonderland !! Did you get more of these surprises ?
I saw the movie and I want to see it back just to see more of the way Tim Burtion used his imagination and skills in the decoration. I searched the internet for more detailed photos of the inside of the castle of the hearts to see the walls and the ornaments on the doors,… but there is not much to find.
I go to London coming weekend and I will search for a book of this movie. I want to have a book of ” the world of Alice in Wonderland” or ” the making of”,… I hope to find something, who knows…
If you know more about the merchandizing on this movie, can you let me know if you have some links,… ? I know this is your world too 🙂
greetings from belgium
Inge
Vanessa, you live such an enchanted life! love stopping by to see what youre cooking up. Your picnic with the mysterious mr lovey looked like a wonderful time! I hope you have a lovely and blessed easter!
hugs

What a delightful picnic and that Easter basket is amazing! Sadly, I did not receive an Easter basket…my mommie is so far away. But she sent me the most beautiful card!!
Then Dr. John took me to a romantic restaurant to have the most scrumptious of dinners and a glass of champagne. Sigh!! It was fabulous! We watched the sun set over the mountains and headed home.
Have a blessed and magical Easter!
Hugging you
SueAnn
Happy Easter, darling V. You deserve a giant Easter basket full of treats and more… Lots of love to you and Mr. Lovee. xoxox
What a dreamy and romantic picnic! Looks like you had a fabulous time. And your mom is so sweet to make up such a lovely Easter basket for you!!! 🙂 What wonderful treasures I spotted there. I truly hope you and your family enjoy a spectacular Easter/Sunday! May the weather be as lovely as we are having here. 🙂 xoxo Theresa PS I love your bunny ears!!! 🙂
Your basket looks bigger than mine! I got the same Alice in Wonderland accessory. I shouldn’t complain, I got peeps and that’s my most favorite!
I so enjoy your blog, I am a 62yr old grandmother who’s inner child has been screaming to be released. I have convinced my youngest grandaughters that we need to visit the magic of make believe.. thanks for helping me step into your young world and catch a glimpse of your wonderland. Hasn’t AZ been wonderful??
I love the images of that picnic. It is beautiful in Arizona right now … with the exception of all the pollen blowing up my nose. Looks like Easter treats you well.
I love a big Easter basket! We love to do holidays up in our family as well…I recently talked to a friend who has kids in the family (9 & 13) and she said they weren’t doing anything because the boys weren’t “into” it…heavens! I hardly knew what to say…
Sweet Vanessa!
Why do you always leave me speechless?!
And overwhelmed!
So many lovelies I would like to make mention of!
Like those ADORABLE pink slippers and those blue polka-dot tights!!!!
And I did see the bloomers…and the yummy sandwiches!
ANd the Easter basket…well now…suited for a QUEEN! ;o)
Love that little yellow chic-a-dee…reminds me of the ones the Easter Bunny used to leave in our baskets!
what a sweet Easter you had!
Happy Week Sweet Vanessa!
xxooxx
Happy Easter to you! Your blog always looks so bright and sunny and magical
