You’ll never guess what I did the last few days?
All sorts of nonsense.
A massive tree in our driveway split and landed on Lovee’s car.
Oops.
We had fireworks in a can.
Fun!
And I talked my heart out in an interview with the extra lovely Joanna Devoe!!
Hooooray!
She’s awesome!
I know I sound like Scooby Doo’s Mother.
If he had a mother.
(did he?)
Sooo, please be kind, these sorts of things (listening to myself) make me cringe.
I’ll be over here writhing on the floor somewhere, covering my ears, haha!
It was a blast though!
Joanna is such an amazing gal, take a peek at her site here.
She is so motivational and fun and free and vibrant!
Here’s my interview below 🖤
I have so many things to tell you soon, however, I am posting this from Mister Lover’s phone as our power has been out all day (rainstorm). So, I’ll save more for later.
Also, MTP is in a few days, eeeeeksss!!
Love, V

Looking forward to the Mad Tea Party next weekend.
Nice interview.
Oh! My! Goodness!
That was a fabulous interview. Joanna asked all the right questions too. It was so fun hearing your voice and all of your magical thoughts about how you got started with your blog, and how your childhood ‘set you up’ to become so creative; and about your dedication with your dreams and plans to create your fanciful art empire. As you totally ARE the Queen of ‘A Fanciful Twist’…a Fairy Queen with glittering frosting on everything you create!
I’m looking forward to the MTP!!! Eeek!
lots of love,
Miss Teresa
Vanessa, thanks for sharing your interview! It was really neat to hear your voice. You sound like one of my girlfriends and I can definitely hear the California girl in there… 🙂 Your advise and history are so inspiring. Looking forward to the Madness this Saturday…
Carmen
That was a wonderful interview….I feel the same way about hearing myself talk on any media….I think we all feel that way. You sounded lovely 🙂 Hope you get your power back soon….and glad it was only Mr. Lovee’s car that got hit! Yikes!
That was so great to listen to!! I love the advice to nurture body mind and spirit, to keep in a beautiful state of mind to do the work. 🙂
Looking forward to seeing what this year brings at the MTP!
Xoxo, Heidi
Miss Vanessa…what an amazing, fun and motivational interview. You inspire us all.
I am so very excited about this week ends Mad Tea Party. I am all ready to go.
Congratulations on a wonderful interview, Vanessa, and thanks for sharing it with us!
I completely agree with you about the importance of caring for one’s spirit and treating it like the ultimate precious thing that it is.
Around the end of May I made yet another “Things I Want To Do With My Life” list, and somehow it finally sunk in that, with minor differences, every list I’ve ever made has had pretty much the same things on it.
Since, clearly, the time is going to go by anyway, the money is going to be spent on *something*, and I would be very disappointed if I got to the end of this ride without ever having lived full-out just being me, I decided that I would begin, in earnest, to use that list as a road map.
After making that initial decision to be true to my own spirit, everything appears to be conspiring to open a path for me.
Literally, the day after I settled on going back to school (I hadn’t yet told *anyone* about my plans) someone at work put a flyer in my hand advertising the fact that the company I work for has JUST started an employee scholarship program. Of course I applied and now this scholarship has made it possible for me to start this September, rather than waiting a year.
I’m currently deep in the process of packing to put all my belongings into storage at the end of this month, and moving out of the place that’s been home for the last 8 years. While it’s all a bit overwhelming at the moment, that will pass, and I really am feeling excited about this new adventure.
I hope all is well in Fanciful, and that your electricity has been restored by now.
I’m so looking forward to this year’s Mad Tea Party!
Cheers,
Meg
I know I must be Scooby’s mom…I luv him :} haha. Sweet, introspective interview…I luv that about you!
Oh I just loved it so much! So wonderful to hear your voice too! Actually have been considering getting my real estate license, as I do believe it may come in handy! Got that idea from you 😉
First, I would like to say so sorry to hear about Mr. Lovee’s car! How bad was the damage Vanessa? Ohhh, and I hope it wasn’t one of your favorite trees? Ugh, we have had only the dusty winds here and I have seen some of the tree damage as well.:(
Vanessa, Congrats and Bravo on your interview!!! I think you did fabulous! How exciting and nerve racking it must have been. I went to Joanna’s blog and listened in on several other interviews she has done. I must say the last portion of your interview summed up the whole reason I feel you have captured so many of us to visit you time and time again in your Fanciful world. Wow and now we have this wonderful MTP to look forward to!!!! I hope to join in, I am still on standby…<3
Great video Vanessa, it so great to put a voice to your picture!
You sounded wonderful, and loved the info,
See you at the party, I have no idea what I am doing yet,
Celeste
Congratulations on your interview! I listened to it via FB, all 38+ minutes of it, and you sounded just fine! Good job. 🙂
Yikes! Hope your electrisickles return soon! Its too hot to be without AC for too too long!
LURVED the interview; listened at work and was all like “Yeah! Exactly! Right on! You know it! So awesome!” and oddly enough people took a wide berth away from my office, probably because I apparently sound like Shaggy’s mom even when I’m NOT on the radio, bwahahaha~
Who wouldn’t love Scooby’s mom? 🙂
Anyhoo, very good listening. Tim Burton is so jelly. 😉
xoxoxo
Waitwaitwait….fireworks in a CAN? That sounds dangerous. Whaaaaa-?
That was so much fun, your interview took me away to a fanciful twist on a new level , just priceless!
You have such a wonderful way with words, your excitement for your creative life is so beautifully genuine and so so gorgeous!
Thank you for sharing, it made my day xxx Love Laurie
Lovely to hear your voice. You sound just how I thought you would!
This is random but as I was watching the pictures scroll by, the one pic of the sunflowers made me excited as today I found a sunflower growing in my garden…and I didn’t even plant it!
Excited for the MTP and seeing everyone’s ideas!!
Yay! What a cool interview and I enjoyed it a lot. I know what you mean about the strangeness of hearing your own voice and how it sounds…(so foreign to YOU)…but trust me, it was great.
Dearest Dear Vanessa! How fun it was to hear this lovely interview with you! So much great advice about so many things! And you are so funny! I don’t know why you think you sound like Scooby-Doo’s mother!!!! I could completely relate to you on the days when you just have to work in one medium and can’t think of working in another! As much as I love the online parts of my blogging, digital collages, etc., there are days I just can’t work on the computer anymore and I am just itching to do rubberstamping, working on my dollhouse or sewing more clothes for my vintage dolls. Then, after I have worked with my hands for a while, I’m ready to go back to the computer again!
Very excited for The Mad Tea Party on Saturday (I finished my post while listening to the interview last night!)
Wishing you a lovely day!
Betty
That is awesome my friend! I hope your electricity is back too! I’m going to join the Tea Party and signed up today! I’m so excited! Sweet hugs, Diane
Hey, I’m really sorry, but would you be able to take my name off the mad tea party list? I’ve caught a cold, so I can’t do it. 🙁 Really sorry.
Wow, that interview was so inspiring. My fav parts were:
1) Your system for watermarking could be used in a variety of creative ways. (I’m the Anal Queen and love organization and anything that makes tasks quicker to deal with!)
2) I loved what you said about challenging yourself, because each time you do it becomes easier to do it again. Your words lit a little campfire under my tooshie which is now roasting like a golden brown marshmallow! ;)Haha!
3) I ADORED your inspiring words at the end about being in a beautiful frame of mind to create art, and how it takes intention and cultivation to achieve that frame of mind each day.
When she read your statement about not giving up, and how dreams do come true, I got teary eyed. It gave me HOPE, and many other things that I can’t even find the words for right now. Thank you for sharing that interview, and for being you!
THANK YOU so much for the kind words, Vanessa, & for inspiring me to no end!!! I’m pleased as punch that our paths crossed & looking forward to the Mad Tea Party. It is almost tiiiiiiiime… -xoxoxoxo
Just found time to watch this interview and it was really great. You are an inspiration and wonderful artist not only with paint and photography and clay, but also with your garden dream land. You bring me so much joy. Joanna did a great job of ending the interview with that wonderful mantra you wrote. =)
