As night embraces the earth, and the breeze blows just right – while moon beam glow flickers in a twinkling dance…
I close my eyes, and enter an enchanted place.
It's a place I go to often, deep in the fairy tale forest. A place I imagine lives on night after night, beckoning anyone who believes, to tiptoe in…
I can almost hear the tune that echoes through the forest by night…
Yes, I can hear it now…
Butterfly flutters and fairy wings…
Fireflies, and toadstools…
Everywhere you turn.
Pleasant & kindest greetings, from a sweet and fur laden friend…
Secrets and wishes held in fairy rings…
Waiting for you to scurry in, and join in midnight wanderings…
The Fairy Tale Forest awaits you and me…
The Fairy Tale Forest is a large, original art piece, measuring 20" x 20" with, extra thick, gallery wrapped canvas, 2.5" deep.
(Original Sold, canvas print available)

Behind the scenes here, has been so nutty over the last 6 months (projects + life, as you know), but I have been painting constantly. I am so happy to get to finally share a piece that means so much to me. For, where would be, if we didn't have a place we could escape to, deep in the Fairy Tale Forest, when life gets a little over bearing, if you know what I mean?
Have you been in the Fairy Tale forest by night?
I think I may have seen you there ;) Yes yes, I am certain I have…
Oh, before I forget, I must be on my way to pop this piece
Note: The original has since sold –
However, there is now a large 12" x 12.093" canvas print available, in my shop.
Today's 3 random things.
1) I loooove vegetables (for eating and looking at).
2) I can't believe I am willing to eat a few of my pumpkins, when last month I was offended at the thought 😉
3) Miss Krista received her giveaway parcel from me. Plus, I want one of her wigs (they are for sale), they look scrumptious don't they?
3a pointless) I love the J.Crew harem sequined pant. Do you think if I buy sweat pants and dunk them in glue, and then throw them in a vat of sequins, I could achieve the same look? (wishful thinking??)

i imagine the cool and twinkling deeps…beautiful painting.
Beautiful <3
Oh It’s a forest dream, indeed! Congrats Miss Fanciful!!! 🙂 I think you may be onto something with the glue-dunked sequined trousers! tee hee! 🙂
i am so happy to see your new painting – it is indeed magical – you are such a delight and inspiration – more more! peace and love, chella
So beautiful Miss Vanessa! Take care, Martha
Oh, the little deer in your painting is so realistic and sweet!! 😉 A magical painting.

I found a fairy toadstool ring in my garden this morning. I’m going to sneak out with the moon this evening and see if I can spot any winged ones….
Your painting is so dreamy. I do believe you are part fairy yourself Ms Valencia….
I LOOVE your faeries and ladies in book-paper dresses. It’s how I would dress, all wrapped up in words.
She’s beautiful…but why is she crying?
Thanks Miss Shay, I often thought about making a life size paper dress for
myself. Does the wee gal she look like she is crying? I didnt paint her as
crying….I think she is just mesmerized and silent watching the flutters all
around her…. 😉
Dear Vanessa! I hope you have been well. 🙂 I simply cannot find enough words to tell you how amazing BEAUTIFUL this painting is. Everything about it is so magical and enchanting. That deer is so sweet, and that toadstool ring! That wall of trees is calling out to me This is a forest where I would LOVE to be!!! Fireflies and butterflies, and oh the faerie’s DRESS! I spy a precious SEAHORSE! I must congratulate you on the prompt sale of this gorgeous painting. 🙂 This has made me smile so much today!
Thank you for sharing such whimsy!!! Theresa
Random things:
1. As a child, I was CERTAIN that I could hear the ocean in the seashells my parents purchased for me in stores
2. When I was growing up, I used to draw my own little comic series with ball point pens in lined notebooks. The story lines were in my head. Oh, how I wish I still had them!
3. I refuse to leave the house without make-up on!
I feel like I could step right in to The Fairy Tale Forest…
What a peaceful place to be surrounded by butterflies, and fireflies…and the precious baby fawn viewing shyly from behind a tree. Me thinks it is a dream within a dream…and has whispers of forgotten memories, sweet memories from the lady in the forest…she sees life from her sheltered abode…and has found comfort in her solace, walking slowly among the forest trees and magical mushrooms.
Absolutely stunning!
***Miss Teresa***
That’s it….I’m moving out of this oven-like desert and building a cottage right there….just behind those fairy forest trees!! A place where wee deer and butterflies and fireflies can visit me every evening.

P.S. I love, love, love this painting. It’s magical and enchanting!
Oh, I just popped into your shop, and the art piece was nowhere to be found! Then I saw that Theresa congratulates you on its prompt sale! Wow! I know you must be smiling
to have your painting snatched up so quickly! So now someone is awaiting a magical painting delivery. It really is beautiful, Vanessa. I know they will love it.
I think dunking sweat pants in glue and then throwing them in a vat of sequins is definitely worth a try to get the look of those J.Crew pants. Just one change I would make. Put the pants ON before giving them the glue dunk and then instead of THROWING them in the vat of sequins, you could JUMP in! That sounds ever so much more fun. : )
Stunning piece of work! Yes, I’ve been in that same forest before. A secluded and beautiful place away from everything and everyone. 😉
XO,Jenn
I linked this as part of my Friday Five over at Cheerific Notations. Have a great weekend!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! 🙂
Oh darn Vanessa (for me, not you 😉 It sold and I’m JUST reading your post! I LOVE it…it’s so beautiful and right up my alley! The little fawn is freakin’ adorable!! I am still saving and will one day hopefully be the first to snag one of your paintings (this one would have been perfect), aaaahhh…so glad you sold it but so sad, not to me, tee hee 😉 Please let me know when and if you put it in your shop as a print, I’ll have to settle for one of those to add to my collection 😉
So glad to see a bit of what you’ve been working on…makes me smile!
Jamie 🙂

LOVE that painting Missy Vanessa! This creates such a magical feeling. You done did it, just right. As for eating your pumpkins; did you ever see Notting Hill? I’m remembering the part with the girl who was the “fruitarian” and the conversation…”So these carrots?” “Have been murdered, yes.” “Murdered. Poor carrots. How beastly!”
Ah, my dear Vanessa, you make me smile. Have a glorious day!! – Kathy
I’m in awe of your talent. The Fairy Tale Forest is incredibly magical and alluring. I can’t say enough so I’ll just say thank you for using your gifts to brighten the world.

Such a fun and beautiful piece Miss V!
I think I see a tiny bit of Baby in the fawn. I’m sure of it. There is magic in that, and it is beautiful too….
amazing painting! and YES i’ve seen you several times at the forest! i was sitting under those mushrooms…
Love love love the painting, it has just the right touch of whimsy to it, I just want to know her story, what led her to this moment wondering the woods in her word paper dress…
Beautiful, amazing, magical, enchanting, swoonalicious. I feel like I could just step inside and walk in her world!
XOXOXOXO
What a beautiful work of art you have created, you never cease to amaze me with all of your talents.

Exquisite painting…love, love, love. : )
What a beautiful painting! Reminds me of where I like to go while I wait for sleep to come 🙂
Your painting reminds me of John Bauer’s pictures that I had as a child. He is a Swedish Illustrator. I wanted to share a site that has harem pants and dresses that are inexpensive for really nice. I’ve gotten tons of dresses from them.

Wonderful! Warmly, Karen
This is so lovely, you have done it again Miss V.
Did you know that I live in the forest? When the four babies from Denmark were here in the summer, two little baby deer with lovely spots came to visit…The children were standing by the glass door looking at the baby deer…the baby deer looked straight at them.
We were all so quiet looking at this lovely sight…including the babies. All the adults were so mesmerized, that we forgot to take pictures. However, none of us will ever forget this lovely memory xoxo
So great, Vanessa! Really evocative, and must be so nice to have! I love the texture on the trees, and that beautiful mushroom red. But the dress is the best!
I think you should tell Mr. Lovee you NEED those pants! They are soooooooooo cool!
LuLu🖤
