The Night before Halloween…

All Hallows' Eve, it's almost here! Can you believe it, the most enchanted day of the year, is well on its way?!  So, let's hold our breath, and jump in.  For it's but once a year that we get to celebrate this day of such frolic and play, and if I do say, it slips through our fingers faster than one can take off their beard.  That is, if you are dolled up as the bearded lady (or bearded fella) for this costumed affair.

All Hallows Eve 7

(The bearded lady happens to be one of my faves, by the way)

Mister Fur and I step in, quietly, so as to not spook any baby ghostlings.

All Hallows Eve 6a

The pumpkin babes we grew are shivering, as frightened as can be…

For tomorrow, one will be chosen for the spookiest task of all…

All Hallows Eve 1

They whisper, as the guardian makes sure none sprout feet and run away…

All Hallows Eve 3

For it is but once a year, that King Scarecrow chooses a head, that he will wear for the next 365 days.

Who will it be, who will it be?

All Hallows Eve 2

When October 31st finds it's way, and skies turn amber swirled with grey, we shall know…

All Hallows Eve 4

For now, all the children, witches, frogs and owls have arrived for the yearly festivities.  Warlock Lovee has gone out for some pizza pies, and has agreed that tomorrow, we might share a bit of real magic.  As in, show you how to make a little magic that we have taught ourselves.  Are you up for it?

All Hallows Eve 10

We have stacks of bone chilling movies, (which the warlock loathes, and I love as long as they are not too gory).  I love haunted houses and such. Amityville is on the list.  We saw The Changeling last weekend, and oh we also have Night of the Demons eeeee! (ps:  I didn't like it the demon flick, 10 minutes after putting it on, I torched it ;), but we did watch 1981's Ghost Story)  If it is too scary, we have Charlie Brown as happy back-up 🙂

All Hallows Eve 9

The kettle corn is ready, and the candy apples too.

To welcome midnight, with crunchiness and goo.

All Hallows Eve 8

I love tonight.

I love tomorrow.

But I especially love that we can conjure up this sort of magic whenever we want.  Although, Halloween does lend itself to extra mischief and mayhem, don't you think?

All Hallows Eve 5

October 31st.

How did you get here so soon???

I must slurp up each morsel of magic that looms.

Halloween magic heart 300

See you beyond soon 😉

ps:  Do you have a costume?  What is it???  I think I want to play "Sick" from real world chores and be Shel Silverstein's, Peggy Ann McKay 🙂

  7. Happy, Happy Halloween, dear Vanessa! There be magic afoot and it rolls from your fingertips! Have a wonderfully fun and magical day! Love to your whole family! Twyla

  8. Love your owl and witchy lady pictures, Vanessa! I like a laugh with my zombies, so I’m thinking we might watch Shaun of the Dead today. : ) Since it’s my birthday, I have a feeling I may get my way. It’s also my wish to try a gluten free pizza that a local proper pizza parlor has started to offer. The frozen variety leave alot to be desired and, since having to go gluten free 3 years ago, one of the foods I miss very badly is pizza I’ve requested that as my birthday dinner. Fingers crossed it tastes good!

  9. Lynda says:

I’m going to be a witch! 🙂 Purple & black striped stockings and all. My son is going to be a scary and bloody pumpkin head guy. Mwahaha! 🙂 Happy Halloween to my favorite blogging girl!

Happy Halloween to you, Miss Vanessa! Hope you do not get too frightened by the spooky movies. I’m not big on gore, either. I did watch Charlie Brown – and it made me smile. I also watched “The Witches” (starring Angelica Huston) with the hubby last night. I hope you have a most magical evening! xoxo Theresa

  15. Laura says:

oh miss V a happy and magical halloween to you! how do you get the pumpkin head to last for 365 days on that scarecrow? does it not fall away over time? these are the things that my brain ponders… 🙂
i’ve been enjoying a marathon of the munsters and the addams family on hallmark channel today and am off to make pizza and watch football… then later to make some magic after all the trick or treaters have gone
halloween blessings to you, matty and mister lovee

  16. Renee says:

Great post. Happy Magical Halloween to you and Mr. Lovey and the fur baby. Happiness to all your readers too.
I had my little one here last night, she was exhausted from a sleep over the night before and out of sorts cause I don’t know what happened to my copy of The Nightmare Before Christmas. (I must find that before we have another movie night). So we watched Hocus Pocus:) I’m trying to train her right.
I’m watching Vincent Price Movies on TCM and waiting for The Walking Dead.
I went for comfy this year-pjs:)

  17. Carl V. says:

October fairly flew by. I’m not sure how it got away so quickly, but it did and although I really enjoyed this October I am sorry to see it go so soon. I hope your Halloween was wonderful and I wish you the very best for November.

  18. Maria says:

    Happy Halloween! 😀

  19. Shell says:

I hope you had a truly magical Halloween. Mine was sweet and I love how even the air vibrates with magic.

  20. I can’t take the gorey movies either. Unfortunately I love the scary ones and it’s hard to find genuine films that aren’t slashers. “Ghost Story” by Peter Straub is great, as is “Something Wicked This Way Comes”…and of course “Fright Night” but that’s campy and funny too. lol
Here are my Halloween costumes. I only did *FOUR* this year, lol. Of course one I started early in September, so maybe that’s cheating? Cosplay action? Haha. I miss Halloween already.

  21. Misha, OH my goodness, that is what we watched!!! Ghost Story!!
And Hocus Pocus. I loathed Night of the Demons, so dumb, I took it out of
the player after 10 minutes. I LOVED The Changeling…I think I adore 70s
and 80s scary flicks. Nothing like haunted houses 😉

  22. Chris says:

Very handsome photos of Matty, I must say.
I do try to celebrate Halloween all the year.
