I think it is about that time, to share some Halloween infused art. I hope you agree, because, we are being beckoned by fairy sparkles flying around, deep in the forest…
I have two Halloween pieces to share (that are available in my shop as of now) and both happen to be pieces you will see in magazine print. I will share that a little bit later, first let's take a little trip to visit a couple of witches, what do ya say?
Nothing like a few pumpkins in a old wagon to make those of us that adore fall and Halloween, extra excited….
Show me an old wagon full of pumpkins, and I just might faint from happiness. I don't know what that does to me? It brings the most lighthearted happy feelings.
But wait, there's a witch too…
She has invited us for a little Halloween Tea-Time…
Down the path we go…
Below you can see the piece in full. It is covered in sparkles and mica flakes (for a bit of lovely foggy haze), and in person, twinkles like crazy.
I could just, jump in and live there. In a big old house, with perpetual Halloween fluttering about.
This piece is called-
Magical Witch Village and measures 16" x 20"
It will be featured in a future issue of Somerset Gallery. In fact, is just arrived from a journey to Stampington headquarters, to be photographed for print etc. I normally wouldn't show you a piece until after the publication is available. But being that Halloween is a few weeks away, I had to share sooner rather than later.
Once you visit the witchling above, and have a little tea and pumpkin spice cake, you must make your way deeper into the forest, to visit a witch who is conjuring up an extra special amount of magic herself…
Under the enchanted hiding tree, illuminated by the glow of the crescent moon, you shall find…
A cauldron of enchantment!
A witch in a frock made of vintage dictionary pages, showcasing her favorite insects and bird….
A tune, so mysterious and sweet, draws you in…
As you make way for an evening of unimaginable frolic and play 😉
This piece is super duper sparkly as well. You can't really see how sparkly it is, until you see it in person. The tree and her skirt are covered in mica flakes.
The piece above measures 16" x 20,"
and is titled Halloween Magic.
This piece is featured in the current issue of Somerset Holidays and Celebrations, which I might add, is chock full of wonderful treats for any holiday. From Christmas to Easter to Halloween, and everything in between…
Here are a couple of snippets of Halloween Magic in print…
A Magical Halloween is something I simply can't wait for!! Getting closer everyday, hooray!
Both original pieces are now available in my shop.
We are going to watch Frankenstein tonight, so I best be on my way. We have watched so many Halloween infused movies, it has been great. Including the history channel's show on witches, then another on Halloween history (loved it), then another on haunted inns, then another on Amityville. I just love those History channel shows. We watch them all on Netflix, it's great! So, Frankenstein + popcorn, here we come 😉
See you sooooon!
ps: Thank you for such a wonderful exchange of words in that last post. I love when we all chat back and forth as such. It is so inspiring to have a gathering of like minded people!! 🖤
pss: If you are a Tori Amos fan, you probably know she has a new Deutsche Grammophon album out called Night of Hunters, with a classical twist? It is a song cycle. Tori is on tour right now and performed a few nights ago in Moscow. I can't describe how amazing the performance was. You can see most of it on YouTube. The strings plus piano are so deep and mysterious and just wonderful, me thinks. Her voice sounds lovely. Also, her performance of Bachelorette, superb!
This gets even better middle to end, you also get an upclose of the musicians on strings at about 6:53…

Truly beautiful!!!!!!!!! I really love how you use textures and layers and make everything so magical! 😀
I LOVE witchiepoos cat. Those ears are classic! Your paintings are wonderful (as always) and congrats on the Somerset spread. Looking forward to the partay…..fondly tpl
WOW! I love your new pieces! They are just beautiful! It is exactly the sort of Halloween feel I am experiencing this year. Sort of like the really magical and whimsical and splendiferous variety ;). I loved the conversation on the last post too. It was really beautiful how everyone was sharing their stories. And you were too kind and sweet in your responses to everyone. As always thanks for your kind words, I don’t know how I would find the strength and inspiration to be wacky and quizzical little old me if it weren’t for your little corner of the web. 🙂

A Woodland Fantasy
Something magical has appeared! Congratulations, Miss V, on the bewitching artwork that has been published and is in the spirit of the Halloween Holiday. The orange and red hues play vibrantly against the black and I love your stars that shimmer and glow. I sense a bit of you in the Witch from the Magical Witch Village. Am I crazy? This is truly exciting and is just enticing for more to come. 😉

You Halloween pieces are marvelous!
I tried blogging on to your blog hours ago and there must be some power outages happening in the connections. It was even hard to get through to your blog this time.
I can hardly wait for more of your goodies to arrive in your shop!
Congratulations on making it into Somerset Holidays and Celebrations! Of course, how could they not love your creations!!! You must have had such fun designing your paper doll hauntings!
I tell you…this year has just gone way too fast for me, and it has been crazily busy.
I poured today, literally rained cats and dogs…this was definitely an early rain for this time of year. And the weather was about 15 degrees cooler than normal. We can still reach into the 90’s at this time of year, but we have lucked out for some strange planetary alignment…I guess ^()^ Who! Who!
Why do I do that??? I meant ‘It’ poured!
Congratulations to the loveliest Vanessa of all Vanessalas for appearing in print once again! I bet you get a special flutter of the heart when you are asked to share your magic in print! Thank you for the peeks at your shimmering mica flake-infused artwork! I see one of your paintings has already been snatched away! We love you, Vanessa.
Love your Halloween Magic piece, Vanessa! Congrats on being featured in Somerset Holidays!
Hello Miss Valencia! How exciting! What beautiful pieces that are featured. I am so happy to hear that. I adore your two newest painting!
I, too, have been watching some scary movies! Yanni and I have Halloween movie marathons, with yummy popcorn too!
I’ve also been been blasting Halloween inspired music all around the house 🙂 my Halloween spirits are high!
This reminds me! Did I tell you, that I made an amateur scary movie? A few months ago, in the cold of winter, I went out one day and just filmed some scenes with my camera and I finally edited it and put it together. Yanni helped me and recorded th audio, he use to be in a band, and I put it all together. I am thinking about posting it. But not sure what will be thought! It’s my first little film, but I hope to make more and get better as I do it!
Take care and be well!
Kim
I simply love your art. It is so fanciful 🙂 It inspires me to decorate more fanciful than scary this halloween.
Thanks!
Grayce

Lovely halloweeny paintings and I loved your Ocotber thoughts below, but was in a rush when I read it. As always you made me think and ponder and agree with lots and wonder what I thought. Looking forward to your party!

How exciting – I have just ordered my copy of Somerset Holidays! Your artwork in magnificent!
Is it just me or is the witch with the pumpkin a little Miss Vanessa witchy alter ego. Only with a black cottage instead of a white and a different breed of fur baby? These are lovely!
Oh your Halloween pieces are just divine!!!! 🙂 I love them all – truly – so much. 🙂 I am going to be headed to the local craft store tomorrow and shall look for Somerset Holidays. 🙂 It’s always full of great inspiration. 🙂 I love Tori Amos, too. I did buy her new CD – but sadly have not had much chance to listen! I did also buy one of Charlotte Martin’s CDs – per your recommendation. It is remarkable how much she sounds like early Tori, but in a totally unique way. 🙂 Hope you enjoyed your flick and popcorn night! xoxo
I feel as if I could just jump right in and help her conjure her hearts desires! And yes congratulations on being published, nothing better than receiving praise and recognition when it is deserved :
Since Halloween is almost here, I was browsing the internet for a perfect set up. I couldn’t help but stare at the artwork which I find interesting. I think I can make one like that, too. I have some recyclables at home. Thanks for sharing this piece.
