Lucky!

Heloooo!  I would never forget to wish you barrels of luck on this lovely day, via the Irish of course!

Happy St. Patty's day!

Lucky Green 15

I probably have no Irish in me whatsoever.  Not even a smidgen, not even a chance.  I don't think?  So I am not sure if I am allowed to wish you barrels of luck for today, that will last forever and ever.  But, I do let several leprechauns live in the garden, so, that probably makes it okay.

I made sure to gather some green wearbles today.

Remember getting pinched in school if you forgot to wear green on St. Patrick's day?  I so hated that.  Those upper inner arm pinches (with a twist) are just horrible, aren't they?

(I am guilty of giving some, I must confess)

Lucky Green 2

I think it's super fun to dress for the holidays, do you?

I don't think it is silly at all.

Seeing people all in green and such.

I mean, you can be subtle.  You don't have to wear a green opera gown and a green cape.  Unless you want to, and of course, that's wonderful too 😉

Lucky Green 1

I am tossing in some green, in accessories and shoes for today.

A vintage bracelet below, mixes in some bakelite chunks…

Lucky Green 6

And a massive ring.

In case someone tries to punch me — I typed punch, imagine?  I mean pinch me!  I can ward them off with my grrrreen rrring.

Can you roll your r's?

Just wondering.

Lucky Green 8

I also have some vintage Stuart Weitzman's in green.

Cunning little heels, for sure!

They are tiny and narrow…

Lucky Green 7

Pair them with an over the top necklace, and off you go to the grocery store 🙂

How's that for excitement?

Haha!

Lucky Green 9

These shoes are deceiving..

Lucky Green 10

They look so teensy and narrow, that I always think (even though I have worn them through the years) that they'll be super awkward and uncomfortable.

And yet, they always slip right on and do just fine.

So deceiving!!

Lucky Green 3

I always forget to wear my shoe clips below.

Since I use them as decoration in my room, which I do with lots of jewelry and such, they slip my mind…

(I have a farmer's tan already it seems)

Lucky Green 4

I think I will actually wear these today.

Lucky Green 5

Oops, look out the window.

Someone spotted me while I was playing in the baubles…

Lucky Green 12

As did his brother.

Boy did Miles make me laugh.

He came in with his green stuffingless owl, giving it to me.

Lucky Green 11

He was most taken by me filling my arms up with bakelite bangles…

Lucky Green 14

Both Matty and Miles were intrigued by one in particular…

Lucky Green 16

Then Miles grabbed it quicker than quick, and bolted with it.

Lucky Green 17

He ran upstairs and took it to his dad.

Lucky Green 18

I got it back and ran back downstairs.

Miles followed me, so I told him that he could deliver a Happy St.Patrick's day note to his human papa.

He waited so patiently.

Lucky Green 19

Then he promptly took it…

Lucky Green 20

And, off he went…

Lucky Green 21

Taking the note straight up to Mister Lovee.

I just love this delivery boy.

He delivers all sorts of things, which makes it so much fun!

Yesterday UPS brought me a huge package in a plastic bag, and Miles pulled it through the fence, and then delivered it up to me on the porch.  It happened so quickly, I didn't even have a chance to get my shoes on and go get it myself.

It was heavy too.

I am so grateful for a delivery boy!!

Lucky Green 22

So, that's what we are up to.

It has been in the 80's, very warm.

However, it is headache windy today, and it might snow on Monday.

I know, absurd.

But, hey, it's a bizarre Arizona.

And, it is.

Lucky Green 13

Are you wearing green, or do you need a nice pinch?

Doing anything exciting today?

St. Patty's crept up on me so quickly, I forgot to reshare my printables and such.  I did receive some fun photos of folks making the shamrock pins I shared a while back.  So glad they are still liked!  I wish I had made some too.

Alas, it's all about time, and how time and me are inside out and upside down.

Happy St. Patrick's day!!!!

Love, V

A sparkly heart

  1. Such cute photos and note-carrying friends <3
Well, today is almost over but I've basked in the sunshine wearing heart-shaped sunglasses and carrying a new, yellow bag. Very early to be wearing my spring coat. Had a mini muffin, planned a creative writing course for next week, sorted through portraits, edited photos for a company website, had popcorn and watched Mission Impossible. Will now sort through some rock band photographs for an exhibition and then nighty night.

  2. Cori G. says:

Oh oh oh!!! My favorite pair are the last!!! Creamy and dreamy with super lovely shoe clips!! Are they in fact shoe clips or earrings in disguise? Me thinks thou art ever so creative indeed!!
Now, me wee brain works so strangely and somehow it became struck by the idea that you have a second floor, my Fabulous friendling?? I can’t imagine, since once you posted a scribble about the foot print of your home and your sweet little girly quarters attached. BUT THEN I idea of King Miles running up and down, back and forth, all to deliver notes from you to Mr. Lovee and then back down again…what a cute visual.
I hope you have a lovely St. Patty’s Day “-).
    xoxo

  3. Cori G. says:

    so many typos… “-O

  4. auntie bliss says:

I’m green with envy over those doggies!

  5. Kelly says:

Such lovely green things you have Miss Vanessa! I promptly told my teens that they must still put on green to be safe in our house. Now that they are older and they don’t see the fun in all the festiveness that I still love as an adult, they did get on something green as the pinching already began this fine St Patties Day morning! Hee He He!
Opps, I just realized I forgot to put green ribbons around the dogs. Oh well, days almost over.
Have a wonderful evening! Do u fix corn beef and cabbage, Vanessa? ; )

  6. Maria-Thérèse ~ YAY for heart shaped
    sunglassesssss!!!

  7. Cori LOVES!!! OKay, so, you are partial to the silver shoes – so when
we go out dancing you can borrow them. What size shoes do you take?
And yesis yes, they are true shoe clips. But you know me so well, you know that
yes…….I have tried clip on earrings like shoe clips – alas, they kill you
because the fold on the clip of an earring sis more hingey and it tears into
your foot. Take from a girl who used to do everything in the name of
fashion. And now, still has to heel her year old broken foot which still
hurts, so padded tennis shoes are my main squeeze ;))) Is that sad?
Oh yes, there are a small flight of stairs. Dangerous in the dark 😉
Miles is indeed a delivery boy to the core. He makes me so proud!!!
Whilst his brother hugs on command. Looooves to yoU!!

  8. They send big furry hugs auntie blissssssssss!!!

  9. Miss Kelly, no corned beef and cabbage for us. We had brown rice and
black beans, exciting!! not 🙂 Oh but once, I went to a proper St. Pattys
day party at a home where there was boiled potatoes and corned beef and
cabbage!! And everyone was dressed in full blown green gear. It was
amazing!!! I almost made green eggs quichewith a little food
coloring, but Lovee was like, maybe not 😉
ps: I love that there was pinching in your house!!
    hahaha!!

  10. Renee says:

I think we can all have a touch of Irish on this day.
Love the shoes (tho I’d break something trying to wear them) they are so pretty.
I tried to tell the granddaughter there was some green mixed in my shirt but she didn’t fall for it. So got a little pinch:)
Love the delivery boy, that is just so sweet. Your house sounds so full of fun.
I had a shamrock shake from McDs the other day-it was very good (I had just had a root canal so it helped:) )

  11. Jessica says:

Such cute green accessories, V! Actually, I need a good pinch right now…I mean, I am not wearing green. Actually, I forgot all about St. Patty’s day. Silly me. So…feel free to virtually pinch me. (Or punch, haha)
Hope you are having a lovely green day!
    xoxo Jess
P.s. I can rrrrroll my rrrrs!

  12. G.G. Pinkster says:

Spring Green and the leprechauns gold,
Is flying today on the winds I’m told.
Swirling and whirling and jumping up high,
Spinning while landing with just a sigh.
Is something there before your eyes?
Just hiding, all golden, waiting to be recognized?
And when you look and see,
All sparkling and clear as it is meant to be.
In front of you is a cauldron round,
Full of dreams where stories abound.
ANd in the blink of a little eye,
You see the glimmer of light,
And running to where it may be.
With dancing shoes to carry thee.
    Cloverrrs and unicorrrns all alive,
    Grrrreen velvet Rrrroyal Rrrregal Rrrrides.
Happy St Patties to The Queen of Emerrrald grrreen garrrdens deserrrt scenes,

  13. Jill James says:

G.G. Pinkster….you kill me with your worrrrrrrrds!
V – I would so wear a green opera gown & green cape to the grocery store
I wear my bellydance getup on Tuesday night to the grocery (covered up) but there’s a lot of jingling goin on….
You have some serious bakelite bangleage – very expensive nowadays.

  14. Roselie says:

Oooh I love your trinkets, perfect for St. patty’s day!

  15. rochambeau says:

Happy late St. Patties Day VV!
    From my leprechauns to yours.
You look stellar in your stompers!
    Love,
    COnstance

  16. Miss Linda says:

Sweet post Miss Vanessa. I’m not Irish either but I am always prepaired for St. Patty’s Day. I wear green all the time. My eyes are green.

  17. Renee, I didnt know they had shamrocks shakes, how fun is that????

  18. Jess, oh you can roll your rrrrrrs! How Verrrry pirrratey of you!!
🙂 Do you take any Spanish in school???

  19. OH!! HAHA G.G.Pinkster – may I just say…. try saying your phrase three
times fast. I just did ;))) Grrrreen velvet Rrrroyal Rrrregal

declare you the kingdoms magician of words, for all eternity and
    beyond!!!!

  20. Jill, oh belly dancing at the grocery store!!! You know that could
become a viral you tube video!!!! 🙂
OH yes, how I love bakelite. I have a nice collection, which I owe to
my younger self who was a bakelite fanatic, and knew what to collect. I
    must thank that girl 😉
Now jingle your heat away, pllllllease!!! 😉

  21. Danka Miss Roselie ;))

  22. Oh Beautiful wonderful Constance!!!!!! How wonderful to see you my
beloved friend!! I wonder if you all had your yearly shindig? I bet
you did, you are such a fabulous group of festivity holders!!! Must peek
    in now… love, V

  23. Miss Linda, I wish I could say my eyes were green 😉 How exciting!!

  24. Linnea-maria says:

So beautiful jewellery and shoes!! Your post reminded me of a bracelet I made and sold on etsy. It was made of two golden spoons and a shamrock piece attached between them. I’ll hope someone will celebrate this day wearing my bracelet. 🙂

  25. Theresa says:

Happy LATE St. Patrick’s Day, Vanessa. It is SO not silly to dress for the holidays. I did wear my green yesterday. I even made Irish Soda Bread (so yummy) and my hubby feasted upon corned beef, cabbages, potatoes and carrots (I do not share his passion for this meal). I just adore your green finery and those dazzling shoes. 🙂 I hope you had the luckiest day ever!!! xoxo

  26. Cori G. says:

OOh! Dancing in your dreamy creamy shoes??? How fun!!! Let’s see, the last pair of shoes I bought were size 7. I used to wear a six, but moved up to a 6 1/2 since me tootsies are two different sizes and then moved on to a 7. Do you have them in 7 per chance? If not we’ll just have to dance barefoot with bells round our ankles.
I noticed Jill up above was belly dancing??? Maybe we could go dance with her too ‘-O. But I’m sure you both would laugh your heads off since my belly dance skills leave something to be desired… “-O.

  27. Jill James says:

ha ha you guys! I don’t actually bellydance in the grocery store!!!! I just go in to buy snacks after class…….all my bits & bobbs are completely covered…..
Sometimes I forget there’s glitter on my lips though. I think everyone who reads A Fanciful Twist is a glitteraholic!

  28. deb says:

    Hi Vanessa!
I hope you find this amongst all your other comments!lol! I just awarded you The Versatile Blogger award! Just pop on over to my blog and read the details and grab your button. Don’t forget to read the little blurb i wrote about your blog!
    Hugs! deb

  29. Oh Jill, Glitter on your lips!! How funny. All covered in a proper
coat, and then, glittered lips, love it!!! Of course, I think that you
SHOULD belly dance in the grocery store. Even though you have not 😉
You will have to choreograph some moves to easy listening music!!
😉 Then you will be ready for anything at the super. Oh, and make
sure someone is taping you. Hello you tube 😉

  30. Green and Shoes! My two favorite things!

  31. Saint Patty’s day snuck up on us too and passed without any party celebration… Shame on Queenie and Honey Man who are very Irish :o(
We’ll have to do better next year.
As a wee bit of a reprieve we do celebrate in fine style Saint Bridgid’s day (Feburary 1) who is also a patron saint of the emerald isle.
    Have a great day,
    Always, Queenie

  32. Jessica says:

    V, I take French :)))

  33. Chris says:

    I miss you, V !
Did it snow today? eek! It was supposed to still be raining from the storm that was brewing Saturday and then after saturday night… nothing.
So odd! And this year, the first day of Spring is tomorrow! I didn’t get anything ready and nothing made, not a bunny, not a Peep, nothing. I have some colorful cards, and I could show them, I suppose. But you always do holidays so well, I will leave the Equinox to you. Or, if you are still upside down with time, I will come back and watch Miles retrieve, again. The CUTEST!
    xo

  34. Jenn says:

    YOUR. SHOES. That is all.
Ok no that’s not all. And your jewels. Haha I was reminded of you the other day. My friend and I were in Wal Mart and we were trying to get through the masses of people and I said “Let’s cut through the jewels”. I thought it was hilarious. I suppose it was one of those had to be there moments… It just reminded me of you and your jewels. Like a princess from long ago, swathed in.. well bling 😉
Sorry I have been absent from blogging life. It makes me happier than anything to visit here.
Thank you for your lovely visit! I am so thrilled you’ve figured out the blogger comment system! I am really quite proud hehe. I took off the word verification so I hope that helped some!
Oh, and Miles looks like the most charming messenger imaginable. I’d sure like to have a handsome guy like that delivering my messages 🙂
