My boys are something else.
Are they really as cute and lovely and wonderful as they seem, or does my love for them simply aid me in perceiving them as such?
That is probably the case, but it doesn’t really matter does it?
You love your furs, you think they are amazing and hilarious, and they fill your heart cup.
That is all that matters.
Isn’t that grand?
My boys run so fast, you fear for your life as they swoosh right by you. They tumble as they run, skidding across the driveway in a cloud of dust. They play hard, and they love their toys. They have a great big bag of toys, and Miles is the first one to pull out a toy and taunt you to play with him.
If I am on the couch, they both want to be right beneath me, on the rug by the couch.
(Miles’ actual spot is at my feet on the sofa, only he is so big, he takes up most of the space)
It’s funny, how intuitive furs can be.
There they were, me not feeling well, them playing quietly right by my side, pulling stuffingless Super Mario from each other…
Miles is stronger than any of us, but Matty usually wins the toy by exerting his big brother deep growl.
So, there they were playing.
Back and forth, tugging.
And then all of a sudden…
Silence.
Right in the middle of their game, they fell asleep.
Paw to paw.
Still holding onto their toy.
It must have been a really long day, in the land of fur.
🙂
Don’t they know just how to win us over?
I am having a hard time not sharing my edibles with my pups.
Miles will eat anything.
Fruit, veggies.
I usually let him have anything he wants off my plate, within reason.
Although, we mostly put them outside with their own food when it is meal time.
(and, I am careful not to give him anything he should not have)
Yes, I am one of those people.
Who knew it would come to this?
I know, bad bad.
First I become a full fledged dog person, then I let them have their way.
Haha!
But, Miles makes this long face, and puts his head on my lap, and looks up at me with these huge dark eyes and blonde eyelashes, and I melt…
Then, he gets a roasted carrot.
And Matty, what a character, he hates to eat.
Unless it is meat or toast, or his dog food, he really is not interested.
But, if Miles is begging for a carrot, Matty will take one too, and spit it out away from you, just to be part of it all.
Funny furry kids.
What is your weak point with your babes?
Are you soft or tough?
I guess I fall into the soft area.
Although, they are fairly well trained, and do lots of tricks.
So, I think they deserve to be spoiled 😉
Back to tea and ginger for me.
Love, V

Love is the healer! Pet those cuties all day long and by tomorrow you will be right as rain!
Get better very soon…🖤Debi
I like big furs. If you have large furbabies like you do they have to be well trained. Mine always were. Even had a rottweiler that was trained to hand signals. Didn’t have to say a word. But all my furbabies were extremely spoiled. You think you can’t have it both ways trained AND spoiled but oh yes you can! LOL. Hugs! deb
V…..I’m on the 8th day of this cold…..but I tried Traditional Medicinals brand tea (from the grocery store) with fresh ginger slices & honey. Gypsy Cold Care, Echinacea Plus & Echinacea Elder…..see if it helps you too.
We have an 8 yr old chihuahua who is spoiled beyond belief….we feed him some table food out of his own Anthropologie baby bowls! And heat a cotton blanket in the dryer for him. People underestimate small dogs – my friend kicked (BANISHED forever she is!) at my dog because he was barking at her – they know when people aren’t fur people – and he waited a good minute before nipping the back of her leg. He didn’t hurt her but it made me realize never to let him around small children. Smaller dogs are the biters – big dogs have the big barks!
German shepherds are one of my most favorite dogs….love their protectiveness…Matty is such a boy dog! Everyone is Miles’ friend!
Aww, what fun, sweet boys you have!! I am definitely a big softie with my kitty girls, I spoil them rotten! But they deserve it 🙂 Hope you are starting to feel better! ~Lauren
They seem like sweet dogs. I have a turtle named Momo, but she isn’t very interested in me. haha.
I miss the pets I have had in the past. I had a dog named Roscoe for quite a few years. He passed away last year. He was such a good dog.
Well, I guess I fall into the soft category since my Nellie was licking out creme brulee dishes last night…

Oh puppy love!!!! What beautiful photos, Vanessa. Your Miles and Matty are most precious. I am a softy, too, when it comes to my furries. They both love carrots, tomatoes, almonds (yep – they love nuts), cheese and ice cubes (they think it is the best treat ever!). Sometimes they sleep side by side, but most often my Willow sleeps near me and Neo sleeps near his daddy. Hope you have a beautiful night. xoxo
Life without my two pooches now and those I have no longer, are my family. I feel my life would have been sooo lonely and boring without them. Yes, spoil them I say, but mindfully, I try. My two come a running as soon as they hear me snacking. They do love carrots and apples and popcorn and and, and, and Opps, (definitely spoil alert)!
A toast to all our beloved pets! <3 <3 ; )
Hope you are feeling better Vanessa and enjoying the lovely AZ Spring! Loved the picture with the boy’s paws! Clever! How many takes?
The picture of the paws is the cutest thing ever!
I hate that you’re feeling punky. Get well soon. And thanks for putting together this lovely post in spite of it.
“But, if Miles is begging for a carrot, Matty will take one too, and spit it out away from you, just to be part of it all.”
Oh, what a sweet snapshot this brought to my mind, and a smile, of course, too. That Miles would do such a thing indicates how much he loves you and seeks your approval.
I do so love my own fur ball–Angus is a wheaton color, not seen too often in Scottie dog circles.
Oh, I’m definitely a softy with our pets. Our pup has just turned 1 and I can’t resist kissing her whiskers and rubbing my face in her fur. My daughter calls our dog her “buppy” – short for baby puppy – even though our “buppy” is 31 inches at the shoulder and 110 pounds(she’s a Great Pyrenees), she has such a soft heart.
Tea and pets are two passions that we share. I just love holding my Joey (cat) and kissing the top of his head. He definitely loves to cuddle in the mornings and has a favorite orange ball right now that he loves bouncing around the house (to the chagrin of the one sleeping below). Oh our pets are pure delight!
Sis! That is the cutest picture ever of the boys toe-to-toe. I can’t believe that is a super mario… it’s unrecognizable!
Well, you know I love my Douglas. I love everything about him, even his stink. The thing I love most, though, is that he loves to cuddle… and he only ever cuddles with me. He loves to get under the covers before bed time and he curls up real close to me… then he’ll get all lovey dovey before we get out of bed. He likes to cuddle on the couch with a good movie, too. He always likes to have the blankets covering him, though.
Funny boys!
LOVE your post! We let Manny sleep in our bed…sometimes it is crowded with Manny, my husband and I and the 2 kids…then I think that when I am 80 I will look back on my life and these will be the moments I cherish. The sense of family and togetherness….I adore how your photographs portray this. Feel better soon!!!
Nathalie
Cuddles in the morning,
Cuddles in the evening,
Running and napping in the afternoon.
Rolling over and sitting,
High fives then eating snacks off a spoon.
Trotting like a pony,
Yawning like a whale,
And of course wagging,
That puppy dog tail.
Kisses that slobber,
Howls that care,
Digging in the ground,
Here and there.
Furbaby love,
I’m constantly a drift.
Loving every moment,
Gives my life a lift.
Sending love and warmth your way
Your such a good fur mama in everyway.
Oh my goodness I love the pictures of your kitties, they are priceless cute.
It doesn’t matter if they are really as wonderful or if your love makes them that way – it’s the truth for you and that’s all that matters.
Hard or softy… Soft or hardness… hmmmm good question. When it come to the Delicious, our fur babes, Minnie and Callie its a bit of both. Much petting, lovie hummy noises and infinite kisses on their doggie domers. Limited human food except for that which oopps falls to the floor ;o) Much scratching of bellies, backs and behind ears. But alas no sleeping in Queenie’s big bed.
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
I love your boys too, and I’ve never even met them. They’re the sweetest pair of brothers imaginable 🙂 I remember when you brought each of them home. Both so small, Matty still so small hee hee. And Miles’ puppy mohawk. EEEK! I still cringe with cute overload at that image.
