Halloween Party 2013!

Just when we thought it wouldn't be, we turn up 5 days before, and announce a party.

So many of you jumped in, hooooray!

Halloween party 26 a

What sports, what kindred Halloween lovers, you're wonderful as can be!

Our teeny tiny 2013 party hit the spot for us.

What better way to soak in the spooktacular goodness of October?

I received a note inviting me to meet someone outside the flower garden arbor.

My my, how curious indeed!

Follow the path of popcorn and glitter and candy corn too it read…

Halloween party 12 a

So, I did.

I found a little tiny tea table, and ever so many garden pumpkins waiting for me.

Halloween party 1a

Such beautiful pumpkins that grew in the garden, all sparkly and happy.

So ready for Halloweeeeen!

Halloween party 4 a

I spot a few fur babes…

Halloween party 9 a

Eyeballing the punkins.

Halloween party 3 a

And another sniffing around…

Wait sir, please don't eat the party trail, haha!

Halloween party 32 a

What a curious little table sitting right outside the garden I thought.

Halloween party 33 a

I snooped around a little.

Eager to steal a treat…

Halloween party 24 a

The pumpkins were chattering so loudly, I could hardly think.

Halloween party 5 a

Just then, I heard rustling in the flowers, so I poked around.

Sniffing garden blossoms, collecting some in my gown.

Halloween party 8 a

But wait.

What is that I see?

An apparition?

Behind the flowers, looking back at me?

Halloween party 7 a

Oh.

My.

Goooooodnessss!

Halloween party 22 a

Who on earth could it be?

Miles is worried…

Halloween party 13 a

Huuuuh?

He's not convinced it's someone we should befriend.

Halloween party 14 a

Come take my hand sweeties, says the red headed man.

Halloween party 17 a

He hums a tune as he sniffs marigolds, on his way down the path to greet us.

Halloween party 18 a

His display is so lovely, he must be a-okay.

Should we run, or should we stay???

Halloween party 29 a

If we go, we had better grab these beauties and run!!

Halloween party 6 a

But you see, the Jack-o-Lantern cookies beckon me.

Licorice too?

And sweet kettle corn?

We mustn't go.

Halloween party 16 a

The trick or treaters line up.

Hey, it's okay, they say.

Halloween party 23 a

And so we cozy up, and have treats with Mister he.

Halloween party 25 a

He offers me one of my favoritest sweets.

Big Hunk, oh nougat and nutty me!!

Halloween party 15 a

We all want some, even Matty.

(don't worry, he didn't get any for real)

Halloween party 21 a

The thing is, the sir has a plan for us.

A plan for the past…

I nod as I chomp.

Nom nom nom.

Halloween party 28 a

He is inviting us on a trip to the parties from the past.

And urges us to run, as we are being chased!!

Halloween party 36 a

Just like that evening falls upon us, as we surge to Halloween parties of yore.

Halloween party 11 a

A magical swish and swash of this and that!!

Halloween party 10 a

And here we go!!!!

A celebration of how we arrived at our 6th annual soiree.

The first time we met, I recall it as if it was yesterday…

Halloween Extravaganza 2008

With a pump organ and late night dances around the cauldron.

(click on party links to go back in time)

Halloween 2008

In 2009, we made our way through the forest, to a haunted apothecary shop.

It was wondrous!

A Hauntingly Magical Celebration in 2009

Halloween 2009

And then, in 2010 we found ourselves in the most enchanted place.

A visit to Gypsies and Fortune Tellers!

Halloween 2010 2

It was quite the visit.

Remember the old woman?

Eeeks!

Halloween 2010

Then the next year, we met under the huge trees, oh it was a night to remember!

A Magical Bash under the trees in 2011

Halloween 2011

We stayed up way too late, under moonlight and candle.

It was amazing!!

Halloween 2011 2

A whimsical party at the cottage is where we were in 2012.

I loved that old fashioned evening.

Halloween 2012

Halloween 2012 b

And now, here we are today.

Our 6th annual bash, and we didn't have to cancel.

We made it!!

Halloween party 2 a

Thank you to so many for plunging at the very last minute.

I looove these parties.

It's a great way to mingle with you all, and to infuse our own world with the fun of putting it all together, and making memories.

Thank you for the fun and magic!!!!

Here's to another year!

Hope to see you here again for another Halloween party next year.

Much love!!

From me, and the characters around here who are great sports.

2 furs, 2 humans 😉

xoxo

The left hand side bar is filled with others throwing parties of their own.

Have fun visiting!

Sparkly heart

ps:  Please make sure that if you are throwing your own party, you leave your party link in comments.  It will serve as an archive, and more folks will be able to visit you as time passes.

    Vanessa!
Yikes! I am scared as scared can be. Not so scared as I would be if I watched “The Exorcist” but very scared, indeed. Technicolor clown scared! Orange hair madman scared. I might have nightmares. I LOVE crazy, bright, scary Halloween clowns…although they do terrify me to no end.
So many beautiful memories of parties before. And yet, you made it to this year’s party…safe and sound and well! That is something to celebrate. Pumpkin bread and tea all the way around. To good health and loads of happiness.
Thank you so much for doing this every year. Your presence here in this blog world is never unappreciated. You keep this electronic, arty world connected.
    With all my Halloween Love:

P.S. What in the world is going on with those gorgeous, reddish pumpkins? Did they grow that color? Are they rare and unique? I am in love!

  2. Kelly says:

Yes, Vanessa you did it!!! This is another Fabulous Soiree!!!
I Love seeing Matty, Miles and Mr.L joining in. Thank you for making this 2013 Halloween Spectacular! I am glad you are feeling well and continue to enjoy Life!!!
    Cheers<3 http://www.flutteringby-mylife.blogspot.com/

  3. Kimcakes, I know, Imagine how I felt, he turned up masked without me even knowing his plan, hahaha!
Thank you for the love, it means so much!!
Also, the pumpkins are Cinderella pumpkins, also known as Rouge Vif D’Etampes. Mine were bright red and then turned green. They might turn bright orange not sure. But last year they were super red and stayed red. One must have rotted out there and self seeded, because I did not plant them again this year, and I got 3. We ate one, it was incredible and soft and supple – and mild.
The Fairytale pumpkins are the caramel colored ones with the thick ribs.
Those aren’t 1/3 of the pumpkins still left to harvest, the pumpkin king was ever so good to us this year.
Maybe because I turned a blind eye and let the veggie garden ramble?
I will send you some assorted seeds! xoxo

  4. I don’t know if I could have been as brave as you, and sit down to have a ‘Big Hunk’ with that scary dude, Ms. V 😉 I loved your party…so glad I could be a part and that you made it happen this year with all you’ve had going on. Hope you are doing well and healing nicely. Happy Happy Happy Halloweeeeeeeen….

  5. We did it, we did it – it’s a tiny display, but we did it. I am so happy to have been here for it all, and been able to play. I can’t wait to go out there again tomorrow evening and have some fun. October is swooshing by ever so fast. Thank you for plunging Miss Kelly!! xoxo

  6. Thank you Jamie!!! xoxo He did scare me with the surprise mask 😉 He is such an interested participant, haha!! We did a whole werewolf photo shoot too, will share that some other time 😉 Thank you for jumping in the madnessssss!!

  7. Betty says:

Hello to you, Dearest Dear Miss Vanessa!
What a lovely party and you are just the sweetest to put it all together! We are so grateful you are here and I’m so happy to be celebrating Halloween with you again here this year! But OH!!! The scaries in your garden this year!! I thought the pictures of Miles and Matty assessing if these strangers are safe to take candy from are just too cute!!! You and Mr. Lovey are so adorable with all that you do for your parties!!
My post is not a scary one, but a nostalgic one. We don’t currently have any fur babies in our world, but we do have some very old babies instead!

Happy Halloween my dear Vanessa! What a spooky lovely party you have held for us, oooh I was so scared by those terrifying men! That dreaded clown mask will stay with me a loooong time – thank goodness the clown himself was pacified by hunk bars and Jack O Lantern cookies! No doubt he was a sweetie really 🙂 I’m in awe of the natural beauty of those incredible flowers and diddy little adorable pumpkins, and thanks for the reminder of those stunning past Halloweens. You’re done it again, another fantastic party!
I’m holding too, rather small but celebratory, Halloween parties:

Seeing your party made me smile. Near my home, is the last standing Mansion in The Bronx. Tonight, I’m going there for a Halloween themed event. Maybe pick up some ideas for next year.

  43. You and Mr. Lovee make everything so mystical and magical! The clown mask, and the werewolf mask are very scary! It’s no wonder Miles looked a bit standoffish for a bit there when he saw Mr. Lovee in the clown mask. All of your goodies and pumpkins are truly wonderful! And I want a bite of that Big Hunk too, as it has always been one of my favorite candy bars! I am so glad you were able to put on the 6th Halloween Party…so sorry I was unable to participate as a blogger in the event. But it is so much fun going around to the bloggers who were able to have their own parties.

  55. I am so incredibly happy that you were able to have your annual Halloween fun here! I am so incredibly sad that I literally Forgot to do my own right after seeing your post about it the other day – I kept thinking to myself, what is it about the 25th/26th I’m not remembering?! And then I saw your post and cried. Tears of joy for you, tears of Duh for me. Last year was the first of your parties I couldn’t attend because a hurricane named Sandy turned our world upside down with preparing for the worst, hoping for the best, seeing that you cannot possibly prepare for something like That and being endlessly thankful we made it through ok here. (So many right around us and throughout NJ were not as fortunate, to say the least). I honestly feel as though the shell-shock and numbness that set in after hurricane Sandy left (that continued for months) is creeping back in as the 1 year anniversary nears closer & closer. I’m feeling unsettled, uneasy and find myself holding my breath without realizing it. So happy for the distraction of your gorgeous post and the others, which I am going to visit throughout the next couple of days and perhaps, in time for my favorite of holidays, Halloween, have a belated post up myself. Thank You for doing these Halloween parties! I cannot begin to tell you how much joy they bring to so many! Much love & pumpkin blessings dear friend! Xo -Jo

  59. Hello hello! <3
Thank you for another magnificent party - with a very scary guy in it?! I don't quite trust him! 😀 Didn't know I was here all the way from the beginning but I was, and I remember every party. I've had three very stressful weeks, worked like a maniac to the point where my fingers and arms just wouldn't cooperate anymore, so I couldn't join. Yesterday I had the day off to create my own stuff again and did take a series of portraits in the forest; they're not too halloweeny but a forest story of sorts and up on my blog. A few more days and I would have had the energy, time and light to make the party. Anyway, so glad to see you back and that a lot of people threw parties this time around too! 😀 <3

EEEEK! Mister He scared the bejeezus right out of me! I’m glad he’s a much merrier host than appearances led one to believe and what a wonderful look back at the parties from yesteryear. *sigh* So much wonder we’ve all shared together.
My post is ever so late, but I hope folks will drop by all the same! xox

    Lovely Lady,
Your gardens are delightful, your fur children are adorable and your masked man is down right creepy with a capital CREEP! I have never liked clowns because I find them straight out scary and definite things that nightmares are made of. You have a good twist of horror in your garden of beauty there. Your parties are always fun. I’ve left you a nice twist of horror over at theseasonalmagpie.blogspot.com
    Best Halloween wishes, Belinda Mae
