Sometimes, it's fun to create a magical concoction.
A dash of that, a sprinkle of this.
Colors, textures, sparkles.
Toss together randomly.
Voila!
The reason would be, for no reason at all really.
Other than to get the create vibes swirling.
After summers and projects and busy days and hot air…
Stepping back into the studio for a little creative alchemy is just what you might be craving.
I am.
No need to measure.
No need to write it down.
Just toss it all together.
Pointless fun.
Ever so necessary.
Petals and thread…
Tiny things and lace scraps.
Faux winged creatures…
Millinery flowers.
Old letters.
Whatever you love.
Bring it all together for a little game of inspiration fun.
It's in those moments that ideas and faces start to appear.
You don't have to go into the studio to create a set thing.
A masterpiece.
Just jump in with some madness.
It always sparks the soul.
Always.
Then put on your wings of imagination…
Sewn together with old thread….
Write your own fairy tale for the day…
Pen or keys…
And off you fly.
A little good nonsense.
I think we all need this, don't you?
Summer is winding down a little in the heart.
People are craving a new season.
Yet, it will still be warm a little while longer.
It's the curious time where feelings and creative desires shift.
So, I like to hide in the studio and whip together some meaningless fun.
Which usually tends to be meaningful fun.
Because it's when you relax and go a little bonkers that the ideas pop in.
Don't they?
How's life out there?
It's great here.
Lots going on.
Getting to share fun things very very soon.
Little projects and things coming to fruition.
The dahlias and zinnias and cosmos are huge, blooming now.
Getting ready to explode if it ever cools down a little.
Summer summer.
Summer in the desert makes you forget that one day you will not be melting.
One day you will feel breeze again.
What a delicious longing.
But for now, we have baubles and sparkles and a little studio fun.

Thank you. I needed a bit of beauty and something magical, frivolous even. My life is upside down right now. You might’ve seen it on thew national news – Florida has had severe flooding. My car was a casualty, well, the electronics were and now I need to have a secondary fuse box replaced. It’s over a thousand dollars. Ouch! The insurance is fighting me on it and I really am in a tailspin of anger and confusion. Blargh. Cross your fingers for me. Today I get to appeal it with a supervisor and hopefully they change their mind.
Oh how I love this dear Vanessa… such a happy, carefree post with adorable whimsical magical things!… you made me smile… my Tessy girl is finally on the right track I think, which makes me so incredibly happy… we have written off four vets who wanted to do terrible things ( and some did, putting her on awful meds she never should have had!)… and have our fabulous vet from England who knows just what she needs and is sooo compassionate and caring!… I told Jack how long you worked with dear Mattie to get him better, and we are doing the same with Princess Tess… you are truly an inspiration in all ways dear friend, and we love you!… xoxo… Julie Marie and Princess Tess

We are just back from a trip to New Mexico to see family and experience all kinds of lovely tastes and sights. I saw some really beautiful pots just exploding with flowers!
Summer is in full swing with awful heat around here! I am afraid we have many weeks to go before we will have even a hint of fall. But I do dream of cooler days ahead. 🙂
I loved this. I love the colors. I’m still finding creative used for tomatoes from the garden. Looking forward to cooler temps and rainy days so I can stay in and do other projects.
It is still hot here. But we took our granddaughter to early registration at school this week. Once school starts (next week) it just seems like summer is done 🙂
Life here is good. My little one has one more week of summer school to go. I am enjoying the summer this year even the punishing heat. I do adore your sweet creations. Sometimes you have to let your muse fly and follow her..
