It's happening isn't it?
The magic of Christmas is all around.
Dancing on fairy lights.
Twinkling about.
The sparkle.
The enchantment.
The whimsy.
It's here.
I'm having a ball overdoing just about everything I can get my hands on.
The mantle is loving the pinecones we made a couple posts back.
And the nutcracker is holding court.
I had an amazing weekend, well 4 days really.
Celebrating birthday times with an infusion of holidays lights, shopping, dining, cakes and antiquing galore.
I started last Thursday at the Irish dance Christmas show.
And then overdid the fun all weekend and ended it with an antique market.
Where he was waiting for me.
I couldn't wait to dress up his antlers.
Oh, I am so very in love.
He sparkles in person too.
I actually ended the weekend in prayer in a candlelight mass on Sunday night, oh soooo touching.
I'm so grateful for all that is so good in life.
Just a lovely time.
So, where was I?
Oh yes!
My tinsel tree looks ca-razyyy.
But I figure, if you are going to go over the top, Christmas decorating is the time to do it.
All my handmade vintage ornaments now have a home.
I haven't settled totally on my mantle décor yet.
But this is happening now.
Some years I go all fresh.
Others I go all sugar plum candy.
I suppose we know what this one is.
The pine cone candles are working so well.
I just love them.
Wish I had made pink & lavender too.
Next year for certain.
Tonight I will go look at more lights.
Huddle in my cottage sipping tea and decorating.
I will make quince jam and Scandinavian rosette cookies very soon.
I have all these elves and tiny houses I just could not finish in time.
Should I make them New Year's elves?
I dunno.
What is wrong with me?
I'm just on this wave of having no time lately.
I need to really manage my time better.
I'm just having so much fun.
I've gotten entirely spoiled and rotten.
Falalalalalalalalaaaaaaa!
I'll ask Santa to put some sense into my naughtiest ways!
For now….
I neeeeed some hot chocolate, stat!!
Come on, let's go into the cottage and play.
What are you waiting for?
Looove, V
See you sooooon!
Promise.
ps: Something utterly magical before you go…
🖤

Very pretty! I love the pastel Christmas theme!
I still have all my old handmade beaded ornaments like the ones on your tree. My mother, grandmother & I made them all.
Glad you had a fun birthday & were able to make it last for several days! :0)

First of all Happppeeeeeeeeee birthday!!! xoxox
Have I ever told you about my Gma? Gee-maw. My dad’s mom. She was awesome. EVERY outfit had its own purse and shoes. And jewelry. AND WIG. I kid you not. She had giant walk in closets before they were cool – and one whole room that was nothing but wigs. She very much looked like Dolly Parton. And never did anything halfway. And had some serious energy! You remind me of her <3 Anyway. Gma would have absolutely SWOONED upon SWOON over your mantle and that deer. I mean like, worse than I am. She had Christmas trees for every room and they matched the décor - she had a formal livingroom that was black and gold velvet and silk (somehow she made it not look too pretentious) and she would go all out with a black flocked tree (I kid you not and gold ornaments with splashes of deep emerald greens and I know it sounds odd but it was jaw dropping gawjus). And she had a peacock room - blues and turquoises and silvers..... and she had a cotton candy room -- and ohmigosh you kicked up her cotton candy room about a trillion notches. This is the epitome of dreamy. I agree with Deezie -- magical!! Now I gotta do more 'cause I am inspired all over again 🙂

I love the colors. I’ve been adding in some pastels to some of my Christmas decorations. I love the nutcracker. Today I finally put out my nativity set and my momma’s first Christmas tree. It is over 80 years old. It is so special to me. Knowing my grandmother packed it away and kept it through move after after move.
Tomorrow is our annual singing at church. Our eldest member (she passed away last year) started this in her home over 50 years. It outgrew her home and we are continuing it in her honor.
I have some baking to do tomorrow shortbread cookies.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and Birthday. I love your beautiful world and that you graciously share it with your adoring online family. :.)) Terri
